>The main missions feel incredibly truncated and consist mostly of following NPCs around and occasionally getting in fights.
>open world puzzles/collectibles feel like the main event and the levels are side content
>levels are more like awkwardly paced highlight reels rather than fun adaptations of the movies
>ui is a mess
Adapting 9 films with a truck load of open world stuff was simply a pie in the sky fantasy. They bit off more than they could chew.
I've only finished ROTS, but it feels like a rushed product
I think this company should stop making lego games and make new IP.
It’s the engine. They’re using a brand new in-house engine the developers found to be too complicated.
>open world puzzles/collectibles feel like the main event and the levels are side content
So, just like Lego Star Wars 1, 2, & the complete saga?
this lmao OP is a faggot who never actually played the originals, GTFO ZOOMER
user the originals had nothing to do except levels and walking between level doors in hubs
I thought the voice acting will be bad for the game, but it turn out to be pretty good. The cutsences are surprisingly funny.
Platforming control is kinda clunky, your character get stuck floating on moving platform a lot
Dexter's Dinner is not a huge hub
You're expecting too much. Go back to elden ring or whatever game you consider a complete experience.
Isnt this game just Elden Ring: Lego version?
retard. i didn't say the old ones were bad, but you don't seem to know how they played at all
Is there dialogue? If so not worth playing
They added a "mumble mode" to make the characters "speak" like they did in the old games. You can turn it on right from the start and play the whole game without dialogue.
>Only finished ROTS
That's the problem. Phantom menace and half of AOTC fucking sucks. If you started the original trilogy like a real man you would've have more fun
Because they limited how many missions each movie can have, it fucked over ROTS more than any movie
Interesting, but are the cutscenes are designed with the same visual gags to convey dialogue as in the originals? Otherwise there's really no point to including the option if it doesn't provide the same experience as the old games and just makes it impossible to understand what's going on
Not the same
I only played I and II about 15 years ago when they were separate games. I kind of remember how they played and had a lot of fun with them. Worth the buy?
Sure it’s the same thing but shorter
I'll probably get it anyways
>no online co-op only local
Damn I was hoping after so many years this would be an option. Kind of wanted to relive the experience of playing co-op. Looks like I'll physically have to go to my brother's house to do so.
>cant kill younglings or sand people
Into the trash it goes.
The original trilogy feels like a proper lego game and is even better than LGSW2/Complete Saga, prequels were obviously rushed
>Imagine all of this in a non fucking Lego game
Why can’t we have it? Why.
The fucking split screen is terrible, I can't see shit.
>open world puzzles/collectibles feel like the main event and the levels are side content
Been that way for over 10 years of lego games
Couldn’t because then they wouldn’t be allowed to be funny or goofy
play the originals
Sequelshit sucks.
So anons, how does it stack up against TCS?
its better but it has too much content
The younglings are the training mode of the game. Too bad there isn't enough non-training mode.
it’s different but also a bit better
So is it better than pic rel or not?
who thought vertical was okay
No.
Why do you care if the side missions are better then the movie levels? Do you really want to spend more then 5 minutes in a last Jedi level?
It's great all around but limiting it to only 5 levels per Episode instead of 6 hurt it the most. It's not too noticeable in a couple Episodes but in shit like Return Of The Jedi the destruction of Death Star II is a cutscene as opposed to a level, and the attempted arrest of Palpatine is a cutscene instead of a level but it's not too bad since you fight him as Yoda anyways.
Should I get this on PS5, Series X, or PC?
Is there a code to unlock Rebel Friend early yet? I'm not gonna play the sequels just to go to Crait so I can do his quest.
>new lego star wars game comes out
>get urge to play the complete saga for the first time since I was a wee lad
>it's fun
Thanks Traveler's Tales!
I didn't mind the 2nd death star not getting its level as the trench run really couldn't be beat and the Luke/Vader/Emperor stuff was cool
The combat is far better, but the Prequel missions aren't as good or are too short with the exception of a couple like the Grand Arena, and all the boss fights are pretty great. The Original Trilogy content blows the OT content in TCS out of the water
Also there is just too much open world, I'm in the Ewok village for 2 seconds I don't need it to be a hub
>only finished RotS
>unlocking RotS requires beating AotC, which in turn requires you to beat PM to unlock.
Might wanna check on that OP. Anyways, while you aren’t necessarily wrong you may be viewing the game in the wrong light. Those hub areas are the main game, old school big collectathon levels much like old school Rare and say Spyro. Those 5 levels per episode can be seen as little gimmick set pieces to the next real level/hub. That’s how I’ve viewed it and I’m having a blast.
It's not worth the buy. The "levels" are terribly short and lack the content I and II had.
I agree with OP. The content is just following characters around in open world hubs and occasionally fighting enemies. I got through episode I Phantom Menace in under 45 minutes.
I haven't finished ROTS yet (just finished griveous fight) and I'd say the only level that feels close to a classic lego level was the droid factory in episode 2 I gotta say even for a kids game it's far too easy, even when playing without any health upgrades and health regen off i've died about 3 or 4 times in combat (also I think the game isn't actually made for health regen off as the extra hearts spawn way too infrequently when using anything other than the hero class), also holy shit the factory level is optimized like ass, I get 60 fps constant with maybe a few drops to high 50 in coruscant , but in factory it dropped to around 15, who thought it was a good idea to have a second screen constantly rendering in the corner
That's why I was shocked when I got to the OT, the Droid factory was one of the only proper levels but almost everything in the OT is proper
going to start the shitquels hopefully they are super short levels
Yes
DODI or Fitgirl?
what
piracy
It's almost like it's a game for stupid 5 year olds.
havent played it but i see they fell for the open world meme, is this why the game is shit?
depends what part of the game you play, the PT is shit the OT is kino
but yes
>pirate game to see if I'd even like it despite my misgivings
>hate every second of it and stop after trying to get some sort of enjoyment for a couple hours, gameplay isn't even that much better then the old games, its just flashier and faster now but still feels like just mashing one button forever
0/10, would rather eat shit then continue playing this game. Uninstalling.
Its slightly better in some ways, way worse in others.
Doesn't have nearly as much charm as TCS or Lego Star Wars 3, so that makes it worse in my book.
Interesting. What about the sequels (which I have no intention of playing)?
I'm starting them tonight, I hope they are closer to the PT then the OT for obvious reason
Lol
>prequels suck as they should
>originals are fantastic
>faggots hate the sequels so much they're prepared to miss out on a third of the content (at least)
Have fun playing 15 short levels and then going back to shitposting
Why is the OT content significantly better than the PT content? I watched the very first level of The Phantom Menace on YouTube and was surprised with how short it seemed (just two corridor fights). I remember TCS just having… more, like side rooms and puzzles and just an overall more interesting level structure/design. With that said, I thought that the other elements (graphics, cutscenes, voice acting, etc.) seemed fine.
I feel like given all the delays they just didn't get as much time as they wanted on the Prequels
Is it true TT is losing the Lego license after this or was the poster making shit up?
All the side rooms and the puzzles are in the hub areas
I see. That’s nice to know.
>mind control some dude into beating what I assume is his wife
I don't give a fuck game of the decade
