Part of the point of the game is that "peaceful simple life in the country" is kind of a myth too. Everyone in Stardew Valley has issues. They're all miserable to various degrees. Living in the country doesn't inherently make life good. The game is about how life just won't be good. You have to make it good. It takes work.

Ape has a very good, very simple stance on things like that. He stays out of them. He knows that regardless of what his opinions on the matter are, it has nothing to do with Stardew. Same deal with mods, he knows to just let people be and make whatever they want and that if he didn't it would be a futile endeavor that would just open up a whole can of drama.

Yeah, it was long, but had some good stuff in it and confirmed a few things about chocolatier.
I don't want them back. The only reason most of these threads exist and stick around is because of jas. Instead of just ignoring the posts they don't like and contribute by talking about what htey want those types whine or try to get the thread deleted.

All vary from great to mediocre to downright bad, but there's tons, truly something for everyone.

He saw jasposting, including that shoop of him, and instead of having a meltdown over it like some anons here he kept right on answering questions and posting keys for everyone. That's literally it. He earned respect by being mature about it and not stirring the point for no reason.
He also answers questions only he would know and dumped hundreds of keys. He does that every year at christmas. He was clearly a part of Yea Forums while he was working on the game, he knew how to use #fortune and gave a shoutout to /agdg/. It'd be incredibly unlikely for any of that to be a random schizo larper willing to spend tons of money on keys for a random game while answering questions specifically addressed to ape.

Playing with mouse and keyboard is objectively better than with a controller, it makes doing almost anything more easy and precise. Also nice to be able to do stuff like restore your save from a backup if you really fuck up, or upload your save to websites that can analyze stuff for you like some predictable long-term RNG.
Mods are obviously nice to have too, I personally haven't used them and don't think they're necessary to enjoy the game but I know there's a lot of variety out there, everything from adding entirely new maps with tons of NPCs to gameplay overhauls like automation and dynamic economies. I'd personally recommend doing a vanilla playthrough first and then finding what mods tickle your autism once you're satisfied or bored.

Yes, once they're mature they don't need the extra space anymore. It used to be the case that clutter would still "stunt their growth" (preventing them from aging and getting the quality bonus for each year) but that was changed in 1.4

Yes, it's good. You should get it on pc for mods. Playing with friends is a mixed bag. You need to both be lax or on the same wavelength or you'll end up getting in each other's way.

There's tons and they range in quality. For some the vanilla is enough while for others stardew is unplayable without mods. Some people load up the game with hundreds of them. Regardless you'd do yourself a disservice not knowing what's out there that you might like.

Haley and Emily are both great
Maru and Abigail are alright too but they have their downsides
Leah and Penny have too much baggage
