We are getting San Andreas VR, so it seems devs are comfortable with porting old games to VR, I hope it becomes a trend.

Why does the Quest 2 suck ass? Is it just that VR sucks ass? What's a good VR headset?

VR sucks ass because of the Quest 2. The Quest 2 sucks ass because of Facebook. It's all been completely fagged up. Fantastic technology is being squandered because the vision the leaders in the field are pursuing is a fucking nightmare.

The problem is that Facebook is a plague, their metaverse shit is awful, and because they're buying up VR software developers and key parts of the hardware R&D as well as supply chain, nobody else can play in this market. Instead of an organic and healthy gaming ecosystem, everything is now focused on the retarded direction Meta wants.

I like to hook it up to PC to usually play shit I can’t play stand alone like Alyx, but I actually enjoy just using it standalone without dealing with wifi strength for streaming or fuckin wires for connection. It alleviates a lot of that “Spending more time setting up than actually playing VR” shit people bitch about

So, shit not present on the Quest 2, the Quest 2 is barely a facebook device, you can't even check your news feed unless you close the game, open the browser, login to facebook and see it from there.

Native Quest games are gimped PCVR games.
The only use for a Quest is running ALVR or ReLive to play PCVR anyway.

I play mostly with randos and it works well enough. Only problem is that the game continues to be a massively broken in most regards so it's pretty common for groups to use completely anti-fun tactics or exploits. And I'm not whining about meta guns or whatever faggotry, I'm talking about people clipping through walls, abusing safe positions the AI can't reach, that kind of thing. This is probably only a real problem on the highest difficulty though.

It's a very grindy and simplified version of L4D. There honestly isn't that much teamplay other than relying on your teammates to not be totally braindead. But the base gameplay and loot grind has been fun enough to keep me coming back.

Not a gimmick. You just need to simulate something you care to live.
