I tend to agree with but not for the same reasons. I think the focus of Western Mecha (you are more or less a futuristic tank operator) translates better to a hands on medium like video games. Eastern Mecha often focuses more on character drama with the actual mechs being more there for style. You could tell the same story with characters that were wearing jetpacks and space suits and not much would change.

Mechwarrior has put out far less games and has generated far less global sales than AC. Just look at the hard numbers, it isn't even close and thats just the PS2 games. Thats not including 4 and FA+V. Even with piss poor sales of V its more than most of the mechwarrior games.

It's a slow(ish) team shooter with a gorillion suits with different loadouts/stats/skills and a rock paper scissors system, which basically goes snipers -> frontline grunts -> sniper hunters
Heavy emphasis on teamwork which is why that thread is 90% complaining about fucking japs, well, that and latency

What might put people off is the fact that suit collection is pure gatchashit, but it's one of those where spending only gets you the latest suit faster. Play a lot and you'll have way too many suits before long
