You don't need a rom for Typing of the Dead. There is an installer for Typing of the Dead for PC. It also works on W10, I tried it.

akshually typing of the dead 2 is a japan only sequel, not overkill :^)
overkill is a really finicky game that seems to just not want to work on some computers. it's not really as fun as the original game either.
just install the windows version of the original and crack it. i haven't encountered any problems with it yet on several windows 10 computers. you'll need another program to run the game in windowed mode though.

Im watching a play through of it and it seems like there's a lot of polish they could've done. the zombies should stay on the floor maybe a little longer, leave blood behind. the little cutscenes for the bosses should've kept the book opening and flipping to the boss' stage instead of just a single page fading in and out.

Yeah, I feel the same. They probably did the best they could do, considering the original source code is lost and they had to recreate everything from scratch. Probably explains why the zombies seem to have out-of-place, rag doll physics for some reason. Also, everything looks too shiny or whatever. There's hardly any variety in how the zombies look now, which is disappointing. I feel if they went with a cell-shaded look for everything, maybe it could've captured the original's look.

Same here and one thing I immediately noticed is there's no holes blasted into the zombies when you shoot them. That was one of the most satisfying things about the first three games. Also AM2 games had a very vibrant color pallet and it's a shame to see them not try to stay faithful to it. Overall it looks more like a well done fan project than a retail release.

I heard that they wanted to incorporate it, but because the original code was lost, there was no way they could. The only way to play the original is by finding an arcade with the game, or just play the Saturn version (I heard that one was downgraded from the arcade version, though).

HotD2 is already perfectly playable on pc since the early 2000s, and it's a faithful port.
Unlike the pc port of 1 which was just the saturn version running on an higher res, and now we are stuck with this garbage

Just get a Wii. HOTD 2 + 3 are literally perfect and you can buy gun peripherals that make the games a near perfect arcade experience.

I could, but I like playing on my TV and it's just way more convenient to have everything all hooked up when I have people over or when my gf wants to play house of the dead or guitar hero or something.

but thats the thing, I play on a TV with my friends using dolphin bar and some wiimotes.
