Good game

My favourite game is still Chrono Trigger after all these years.

It's ok user, I'm a faggot too

You mean to tell me... That 20/30 something year old losers are nostalgia riddled faggots who think OLD GOOD NEW BAD?

This is news to me. I had no idea this would be the case OP.

Chrono Trigger is so good that it’s still fun on ps1 sitting through literal hours of loading.

You mean beyond adolescence you figure out video games are toys for children and not a serious medium so you like games from your adolescence.

25 year old zoomer here. Played around 500 games (didn't bother counting), my top 3 favourite vidya are from 2011, 2017 and 2021 respectively

>Grew up with the n64
Yes, being an N64baby is what causes people to think OoT was actually a good game.

I occasionally go back to older games I spent probably hundreds of hours on in my childhood and most of them I find a complete bore. OoT and SMB64 are two games that if I pick up I always end up finishing in a day or two. ALttP is still my favorite, though.

- The pacing: No filler sections, you could beat OOT in like 6 hours on replays
- The Story - Every dungeon had significant lore buildup behind it & provided players with motivation to complete them, making them memorable. It’s incredibly well told and despite revisiting the same exact locations on a small map it feels like a grand adventure. If i asked someone to name 10-15 memorable moments from OOT, they would easily be able to tell me, they couldn’t do this with many other games
- The Camera - You can never see the open world, the camera is lower to the ground and it makes the world seem really vast to explore rather than games where you can see a vast plain of empty grass
- Overworld - Interconnected areas making it easy to navigate, every corner of Hyrule has memorable NPC’s
Soundtrack - Perfection, every track is memorable, like the music that plays when you sneak into the castle, the potion shop theme, the fishing theme, the song where you race at Lon Lon Ranch, no game has more memorable tracks.

>call of duty modern warfare 2
>call of duty: WW2
>call of duty vanguard

Based

>my fav childhood game is the best game eva
Every nostalgic fag thread.

only children play with toys so logically video games from childhood are superior

I think most of us know this but it doesn’t matter. Games are just better when you’re younger. You’ll never reach a 12 year olds level of immersion ever again

I've played around 600 or 700 games since 1990 and my favourite games are
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Metal Gear Solid 1
Streets of Rage 2
Resident Evil 4

dangerously based

youtube.com/watch?v=LzygkxPK6YA

Guitar hero was so based. There is no better game to play with friends in the same room especially

>largest technological leap in gaming history
>they were literally inventing new genres of gameplay and hit it out of the park on their first try
>last generation before the internet and 9/11 ruined fun
>highest rated game of all time among players and critics
>b-but it's just because you grew up p-playing it!!
Come back in 25 years and tell me about how kids these days will never get to experience OG Fortnite.

So true about the leap in technology. No zoomie will ever feel awe at a video game the way we did.

Yeah it's still my favorite too

Its literally the perfect hero's journey.

The fact that some people still get what made or makes good videogames, gives me some kind of hope for the future of videogames

u have to tell what is fave gamez

Same, I've beaten CT at least 25 times since it came out.

Dark Souls 1, Nier Automata, Black Souls 2

Attached: I just really like atmospheric games.png (1164x1163, 2M)

for me, it's the music and the sound design. i bet anyone who finished oot can instantly remember the ocarina melodies or zone themes or even the hit sounds or the AAAAGGGGGGH noise link makes when he falls. the sound in that game is beyond iconic

>If i asked someone to name 10-15 memorable moments from OOT, they would easily be able to tell me, they couldn’t do this with many other games
I love OOT, but I can easily do that with a ton of other games.

do it with botw

nah that user is just another validation seeker faggot and that list you posted is based

This is actually pretty respectable.

IS Black Souls really that good?

I never said I could do it with botw.

The genuinely big moments in OoT are so astonishing to me that there isn't much else to compare them to. Getting the ability to travel through time freely is like nothing else.

nta but, it's good, yes. Has the typical problems that rpgmaker games have but it's still very good.

miss me with your shit taste, plebs

"It's okay to like bad games" is how I'd respond. It has its flaws - game's too easy unless you go SL1, stock assets - but the writing, the Bravely Default-like endgame combat and the atmosphere created by the scribbles makes it one of my favourite vidya
If you look closely you'll notice how almost all of my favourites are flawed, especially VTMB and Witcher 1

Nintendo is still king when it comes to melodies you remember for the rest of your life. Shovel Knight and Cuphead also have great soundtracks that aren't just "mood music".

>for me, it's the music and the sound design.
there was something about early 3d nintendo games that made the player character animations feel incredibly in tune with the world and your surroundings. modern 3d games have jarring animations that look floaty and like your character is just arbitrarily sliding around.

Scares me how out of touch with reality ocarina drones are. Maybe this game is some form of psyop experiment (performed only in the US)

>Is this game so popular because it's good? Well I don't like it so it must be a psyop

It scares me how both OoTchads AND Americans live rent free in the heads of retards like this

I’m not american and OoT is still my favorite game, but I also share OPs sentiment that no matter how many games I play, nothing really compares, which completely blows, and it does make me wonder if it’s truly an age thing, because no game I’ve played since expect for MGS3, has made me feel anything close to it, don’t get me wrong, I played several games that I quite enjoyed, but none of them had a similar lasting impact, there’s enjoyable games and then there’s memorable games and experiences, and OoT is the kind of game that’s not only enjoyable, but one that one would also think about fondly several years after beating it, and that’s the kind of game I’m struggling to find.

MGS1 - Briefing tapes, Meeting Meryl, Crawling through the vent & hearing Master Miller, Crawling through the vent and meeting Sigit, Finding the Darpa Chief, The bullshit with the lasers that you have to get through, Raven Tank battle, “6 Bullets more than enough to kill anything that moves”, Ocelot’s hand gets cut off, Sniper Wolf battle, Meryl disguises herself as a guy & Snake is looking at her ass. Needing to read the back of the manuel to find her Codec frequency, Psycho Mantis reading memory card, Meeting Gray Fox in the room where you find Otacon, “This is Secretary of defence Jim Housemen”, Naomi’s Backstory on the Codec, Liquid revealing his identity as Miller, Sniper Wolf battle, failing Liquid’s fight & Meryl dies, Sniper Wolf death with the Wolves, Gray Fox vs Metal Gear, “Fox Die!!!”, Jeep Chase fight

Iktf. Beyond OoT and MGS3 there are a few other games I feel the same way about
>Chrono Trigger
>Earthbound
>Shadow of the Colossus
>Dark Souls 1

Blatant liars. You've played 700 games and yet your favorites are always the most top rated well known IGNcore in existence? Please. Stop looking for validation and play more games.

oh no oh no

Attached: laugh.jpg (251x242, 10.29K)

I honestly have played at least 600 games as I keep track of them on the website backlogged. If your interested I can post my profile

Yes

poast it my dude

I've played 400 and my fav is Dark Souls
This site is addicting

Literally added Deathsmiles Mega Black Label to my top 100 and removed Chrono Trigger yesterday. Chrono Trigger was top 10 for me back in 2017, cope & eat shit. The more i play the more my old favorites get removed, OOT never changes as the #1

backloggd.com/u/Gannon/

Ocarina of time it's not my favorite Game
I'm 22 years old
I like no more heroes in general, ace attorney in general, persona 4 and 5, SMT IV, Strange Journey and Resident Evil 2 and 4
That being said i think objectively speaking Ocarina it's the Best Game of all time
The other contenders people usually bring up are:
>Dark souls: it's a good Game and inspired a new generation of aventure games, Dark souls it's the evolution of the ocarina/ OG 3d Zelda formula.
>The last of us: fucking lmao, give some journos and normies a movie sob story and You get called a Masterpiece.

N64 babies are literal subhuman trash that deserve to have their entrails ripped out publicly. That said, OOT is a fucking great game and holds up as one of the best to this date.

Are you OP? If so
>Still have OoT #1
>Metal Gear is fav on profile
>Majora's Mask is top on faves list
>OoT is top on Zelda list

Great taste. I'm gonna assume you're a 30+ boomer like me. When you marked your games "played" does that mean you beat them or just played until you felt like you got the gist of it? And why no games played this year, are you taking a break?
I use howlongtobeat to track my play, and only put games that I've beaten so I can contribute my playtime to the database. Been on a tear for a couple years but I feel like my gaming days are once again coming to an end (I didn't play games for about 10 years starting in the late 00s).

I liked the part where I explored and found a chest with more ammo for a sword.

CAN'T FUCKING SKIP THE DIALOGUE
I ONLY WANT TO SKIP THE WORDS I'VE READ BEFORE

>>Metal Gear is fav on profile
That site is weird. It has the middle game on my profile as top game which doesn't make sense to me so I ignore it. Left to right makes more sense. So OOT and MM are equal for me as my favourite games followed then by MGS1. Although desu I'm not too bothered about the order. Basically OOT,MM,MGS1, SOR2 and RE4 are my favourite games. I'm not that bothered about the order they are in really.

>And why no games played this year, are you taking a break?
desu I don't mess around with too much of the site. I just use it to add games to played list or favourites. I have added elden ring and pokemon legends but they didn't show up in recently played because you have use the log game thing instead of just pressing the add to games played button so I'm too lazy

Also yes I am a boomer and the played thing is for games I've either played for a few hours or beaten really. Like I know for sure I added some arcade games that I never actually beat but played for dozens of hours combined

I still need to play chrono trigger, earthbound and dark souls, I played a bit of sotc several years ago and didn’t like it much, but I might need to have a go at it again some time since I played Ico recently and liked it so my tastes might have changed since then, that said, some cool tranny I know played earthbound recently and even as a 30+ year old grown ass man he was amazed by it and said it shits all over every single indie mother clone, so you might be on to something.
