lol no

lol
lmao

it's okay

I have several hundreds of hours in rimworld but never finished it.

>rimjob
>best game ever
neck yourself

It's terrible without mods

Yea Forums is too dumb for Rimworld.

sandboxes are inherently lazy games

I have enjoyed Rimworld enough to have played nearly 4000 hours of it under varying levels of moddedness.
It's a very special little game, but it's also an absolute fucking mess of spaghetti code and borrowed ideas with unrealized potential. It's not a good game, but it's a good skeleton of a game.

a likely contender

I would like to say no but on the other hands I have around 17.000 hours of playtime on it...

The base game sucks, tho.

the base game doesn't suck, it's just that it's way way better with mods and it just looks bad in contrast

baby's first dwarf fortress

holy reddit samefag

cope harder rimjobber

the base game is terrible. especially since the intended experience is playing with cassandra and rushing to build a ship

we can see where you edited dude

>I don't like fantasy setting or soundtrack or colony simulation part but I have to enjoy it because of its coveted/v/core status

i have never built a ship and i always played with randy, i dont see the problem

Rimming is gross

>literally never beaten the game

please do not call rimworld a game.
The creator insisted that rimworld is not a game during a speech he gave at the game developers conference.

Fun game but best? no. And even less fun without mods.

The devs are lazy fucks sitting on piles of money that let the modders do the rest of the job instead of steadily updating the game and adding new content lol

He wasn't lying though.

Kinda boring

based retard

why beat it

I played it long ago for around 6-8 hours and the game is okay but never got hooked, to this day I still dont know if Im just missing something or maybe the game just isnt for me

did anyone actually tried to go for non "build the ship ending"
walking across the planet might be interesting but will probably just end up boring
nexus thingy looks more fun

Great time sink with a good modpack. Just wish it had proper coop

Both walking and building the ship endings are essentially the same. You have to defend against waves of enemies till launch and then you enter the Save our Ship part of the game

lol, rimworld is just dwarf fortress for retards

I've done it, its actually pretty easy. You just need to make a couple weeks worth of pemmican or survival rations and you can do it in one trip

Amazing Cultivation Simulator is better lmaoo

pffff
fuck that then
>defend in your base with all resources that you have
>go in the middle of buckfuck nowhere to defend in an empty field

It's not a bad game but every game/colony will be the same shit every time, so once you played one game they will all be the same

i only got into this game this year and it's fucking incredible

yeah

try being creative

Incorrect op. My 48 pages of subscribed mods is testament to how much shits needs sorting out from vanilla. It's a great template for a game but vanilla is barely playable and each dlc focusses on stupid gimmicks instead of something vital like storage options instead of dumping everything all over the floor.

>Picks temperate forest every time

>a sandbox is better with more toys
no shit

Making it hard =/= making it different

Mods help with that
Also making new ideologies for yourself and stuff like that
Try to make a village of body purist, vegetarian hippies

Yeah but sometimes different is harder
Don't get those mixed up

No, the mods actually add the sand, the wooden part to stop sand, and the toys

The game itself is just a big "you can build a sandbox there"

create a workshop mod collection and post it user. I want to overload the game with hundreds of mods but the big 1.3 collections in workshop are all chinese

A little bit of roleplay helps a lot with that. Ideology was great for forcing you to play in different ways

Ideologies is a good idea but it's kinda retarded in some ways
>start a run with minimal resources
>Plant lover ideology
>you can't fucking build anything without them get mighty sad
I just wanted a community that's in touch with nature, not one that get sad because you used a tree for surviving the night

don't build out of plants stupid, uproot trees and move them instead of cutting them down

This

The way I see Rimworld is basically a custom build of the Unity engine optimized for base building sandbox games. By itself, it's nothing.

lmao
lol

>I just wanted a community that's in touch with nature, not one that get sad because you used a tree for surviving the night

Kek, I guess you've never met a vegan IRL

By itself it is a tutorial of how optimally play the game

>don't buil out of plant
building out of rock it's way harder early on, and honestly it seem even more retarded to think I must build rock wall for my tribal like community

I just wish there was something like "plant a new tree to remove the sadness"

>this is literally the best game ever made
Your kidding, right?

>generic console shooter
trash

ENTER COMPETITOR

Attached: TFM.jpg (616x353, 161.16K)

ive literally never built the ship
or beaten the game at all
when I run out of stuff to do, I just add more mods

ahaha not wrong, but this is a videogame so had the hope I could make it happen

christ thats ugly

>It's like dwarf fortress but with much much much less everything
No thanks

vegans dont eat trees

i love DF but i also like have visuals
and the whole space cowboys thing is kinda cool

>muh graphics
filtered

literally what

The fuck are you doing user?
If you select the plant lover ideology all you need to do is move trees away from you. You can also amp up garulan sprouts and have infinite wood if you still want to have wooden houses. Otherwise just go build out of stone blocks.
Also just because your ideology makes your pawns sad over something, it does not mean that its disabled. Sacrifice a pawns mood if you have to do something that goes against your aspects.

Then use one of the visual clients?

getting away in the shuttle sounds boring anyway as a finale
i don't see why they can't just implement at least some of the most basic UI and QOL fixes into the main game at this point, along with vanilla expanded
i've lost two perfectly good cpu fans to the strain that it puts on my cpu, i put it down to rimworld as it runs fine all year, then i go on a 2 week rimworld binge and suddenly it packs up under the pressure

It's a new game that plays like Rimworld + Age of Empires in a D&D setting

Save Our Ship 2 content should be rolled into Vanilla. Playing FTL in Rimworld is too much fun, but the heat distribution mechanic needs some work.

Opinion discarded. Fuck off, shill
