I would say SC2 are more toward micro while brood war are more toward macro. You could lose your whole army in just 20 second in SC2. While brood war depending on how good you control your overall army since unit pathing is an issue.

I'm not sure about that.
SC2 is a much faster and more finegrained game which makes control infinitely more complex and the strategic possibilities are much wider in scope. In SCBW several matchups are literally figured out. You can basically only do so many strategies.
But I would argue that the base mechanics have a higher skill ceiling in SCBW, but not the entire game.

Serral is playing the overpowered race which diminishes his accomplishments.

It is true. Destiny was probably the most entertaining SC2 streamer the moment he left the scene started to die out just like he predicted, the recognizable and entertaining personalities started to move on (or died rip) like IdrA, Naniwa, Incontrol, etc.

SC2 is more streamlined, you need to do less to accomplish the optimal result compared to BW. Increased speed is supposed to balance it out I guess.
It's subjective but I don't think it's a good tradeoff overall, the unlimitied selection and F2 makes it so battles tend so be blob vs blob (in contrast to more spread out BW fights) and the ridiculous damage output of armies makes it so if the enemy gets a jump on you when you look elsewhere for a second it's gg most of the time, which isn't very strategic. Stimmed Marines killing hatches in like 5 seconds etc. is retarded. It's not nearly as extreme in BW.

meh, blizzard fucked with sc2 so much it's hard to tell which is harder, sc1 is hard due to engine and mechanical limitations, sc2 is hard due to designer stupidity.

I'm not so sure I agree with this anymore. It was like that before LOTV but they managed to make the game a lot better in that regard.
If you watch pro matches now you'll almost never see a game that's decided by blob vs blob anymore. The battles happen all over the map and the armies are constantly moving and splitting up to defend/attack multiple fronts at all times. But this is super hard to control for the average normie player.

This is true, and it erodes lower-level competitive play because you have simple strategies like that make for an overly strong fighting style compared to how easy it is to control and execute.

He's dominated and is still dominating a game actively played by hundreds of millions on a level that no other gamer has ever before, or probably ever will after him, no matter the game. He's untouchable.

SC2 100% requires more skill than any sport in existence.

Protoss is absolutely the most overpowered race closely followed by Terran.
It's been that way since the game came out. Even at top level competitive play you can force a zerg into the long game.

Faker is pretty impressive in the sense that he actually managed to make a difference by himself in a game where it's VERY hard to solo carry games outside of pubs.

IMO Flash is the most dominant gamer of all time (he's so technically superior to other top BW players it's not even funny, and he would eat SC2 greats like Rain and Soulkey for breakfast), while Serral has potential but needs to grow his pedigree more.

AOE2 isn't even in the same ballpark because of how slow it is. The skill ceiling is much lower.

Ok, Zerg bro. Throughout SC2's entire history Zergs have BY FAR the best results and Protoss have by far the worst results.

Siege tanks are particularly egregious in lower levels. I will never not be salty, as a bad zerg, about siege tanks. But honestly before diamond, encounters are decided in less than ten seconds, so if you ever lose track of your army, or someone gets the jump on you, you're basically fucked. Stray storms when you're not paying attention, yoloing banelings, siege tanks on high ground, whatever. Blink and you die? Hard to stay on top of something as fast paced as that for as long as sc2 matches can take sometimes, for how easy it is to just park siege tanks and scan

Do you have a single piece of evidence to prove that statement?
Mostly terrans have been champions. And just because a race is underrepresented in top tier play doesn't mean that the race isn't overpowered. Its a question of how hard something is to execute compared to how effective it is.

Faker might be technically more impressive because he is competing against so many other people, but goddamn, lol vs brood war... its like saying he's the best little league player

AoE2 is slower, but is that enough of a reason to discount Viper winning every single S-tier tourney for a decade?

Brood War is really mechanically intensive, so I could see someone arguing Serral/Viper/insert-name-here as being "a better strategist" or more of a "tactical genius" or something like that. But for raw "gaming power", Flash is tough to beat. Also to be considered is the overall skill level of competitors - AOE2 has a lively community, but BW and SC2 were national pastimes in Korea where hundreds of thousands of players would be grinding the ladder.

It doesn't matter what you THINK the skill ceiling of a game is. As long as the difference in skill can reliably determine a winner, the ceiling is not yet reachable by the people playing the game, especially if its played by millions of people.

He's the GOAT from longevity alone. Think of all the early pros from his rookie era. Almost all of them retired like 6 years ago. Faker is so far ahead his piers, there hasn't been even a discussion who the LoL GOAT is since 2015. Not even once. The closest we've gotten is "well if X player can play like this for X more years, maybe there could be a debate", before they eventually just fall off while Faker keeps going. The more you look into it, the more impressive it gets. I get that people might look down on LoL as a game, but I guarantee you, no game has had someone dominate it as much as Faker has. Not Flash, not S1mple, not Cookiezi, not anybody.
