That looks nice, although personally the low poly moons(?) would bother me being right next to perfectly circular buttons.

Does anyone else struggle with quarter circle motions on stick? I can basically never do double qcf on stick, I either don't do it fast enough or do something wrong.

depends, I have trouble a bit with double qcf as well but just the one is fine.
I also put an octo gate in my stick as I always had problems doing hcbf with a square gate

Looks kinda weird. Look into Mayflash instead, it's the go-to beginner brand, the non-Elite ones just need modding with proper parts.

I'm debating on a stick but I'm also curious about a fight pad. Seems like the button layout would be better than a normal controller but I have no idea if any are good.

hitbox > stick > pad
hitbox is the most minmax possible option as long as you get used to it. I don't care to get good on one since i like the feel of sticks but it's not as big a gap between stick and pad.
