>want a Gamecube game
>always $80+ on ebay
When is this shit getting fixed? I prefer physical media and a CRT on OG hardware but this is insane.

They will just keep getting more expensive. Nintendo may release the "hd remaster" of some of them for 60 dollars msrp though.
you expect a scarce item thats getting rarer every day to get cheaper over time?
Just mod a Wii and put your dumped games onto a thumb drive.
Nintendont on a homebrew Wii. It might not be physical media, but you can play GC games with OG hardware on a CRT.
Fact of the matter is that the GC has one of Nintendo's best line up of first party games and a ton of other great games that never got brought anywhere else. As well as some series that saw their last game in the series, or just last good one on it. It just took people almost 20 years to figure it out so I don't see them going down ever again. Nostalgia started hitting the GC hard in 2020.
All of that combined with the GC selling the worst out of it's generation makes it pricey. If you wanna collect physical you will have to shill out the cash for it. A homebrewed Wii isn't a bad alternative if you want original hardware.
Just softmod a Wii, it's easy as fuck and you can play all the GCN games you want on your CRT for free.
How is the picture for GCN games with component cables vs Wii component cables? Have a gcn and components and it looks great.
>he hasn't robbed a youtuber that hoards games and makes "hidden gems" videos
They aren't too different, I think the GameCube is better by just a little bit because it doesn't have to share the analogue port with the digital like the Wii does. You have to really be looking though.
>fuck the solution to my problems and long term game preservation in general
suit yourself, retard
You don't want to pay $120 for crusty cum-covered second-hand copy of Gamecube game despite it being the only L E G A L and proper way to enjoy Nintendo™ products? Disgusting. Shame on you, fella.
>Bad CG of a man with a skii mask going into a Mario warp pipe
>Bad green screen of the man running away from cop cars with the sirens blaring
>Logo splash screen I paid some kid $5 on fiver to make
>"Hi this is BurglarGaming, and today I bring you 'Top 10 hidden gems I stole from Metal Jesus'"
Oh yeah, it's gaming time
get a GC Loader mod
Luigi's Mansion complete black label is like $80. Sort of insane considering you could get it back when I was in undergrad back in 2011 for like $10
Even some Dreamcast games are starting to go for dumb amounts. The collection autists are weird.
I got one of these with a Carby and it's great. I have like 100 GC games and I ain't fuckin touchin those
Someone explain this
As much as they dont want to admit it gamecube fans were mostly children and treated their games like shit. Combine that with the fact it barely got any sales to begin with and yeah CIB shit is rare.
Same but using the GCHD-MkII
Don't even use HDMI from it but just Wii component cables and force 480i for the cleanest look on the CRT I keep around for retro stuff.
Just do what suggests. There's just too many zoomies starting to collect with a combination of price gougers fugging up the retro gaming market. The more people who decide to just download the quicker things will return to normal.
What are the chances Twin Snakes gets an HD remaster?
Are NES games still expensive? I started collecting them around 2015-2016 when that started really kicking off. Now it seems we've rapidly moved up from that to Gamecube and Wii collecting.
How expensive is this to do?
If you have a wii, and an sd card its free
Biden Inflation. When bread goes for $20 a loaf these games will be $200+
YOOO I didn't know those had the option for component out with a Wii cable. The Carby is only HMDI. I might have to get one of those and see what it looks like with my RetroTink 5x. Thanks for the heads up!
Nintendont is easy to setup on wii/wii u
As long as you can afford and SD card, a Wii, and a Gamecube controller, you're pretty much good. I don't even think the Gamecube controller is necessary, I just think it's a good controller.
Nintendo fans, especially from that era, largely only grew up with Nintendo games. Its all they know.
>All that effort to keep boxes
>homemade GB Player boot disk box
>all that effort
You just like put it on a shelf.
Bro what, Nintendo fans of that era were probably the only ones who owned a GameCube lmao. All 3 of my neighbors had a PS2 and either played GTA all the time or tony hawk.
>whines about paying $80 for a console
lol. lmao, even.
You do realize the GameBoy Player startup disc had a slip cover right? It was just a small Japanese sized box. None of that is homade.
thats what i said, they only grew up with the games on that console
Mine is clear since I got it from gamestop like 12 years ago.
Got the manual tho
>Go to store
>Buy game
>Put box on shelf
Wow so much effort. Found the kid whos mom threw away his boxes and made him put the discs in a binder.
Came here to say this. so fucking easy. And I just got a cheap adapter for hdmi from wii, looks fine if you don't care too much about CRT quality, but you have that option if you have a decent CRT.
>sold all my vidya to move out of my parents house to impress girl and take her out on dates
>didnt work out and I got cucked
>8 years later have money and trying to recollect
Fuuuuuuck me
Oh I agree on the GC controller. I'd need to find my wiimote and nunchuck too though.
That's weird. I got the slip cover on mine when I bought it. Not sure about that.
What I meant is, it wasn't all they knew because everyone else had one. I would play PS2 and Xbox at my friends house all the time.
>Got it used second hand from FUCKING GAMESTOP in 2010
Found your issue. Unfortunate
"collecting" things is a dead end and the lowest "hobby"
you already moved on once, fucking move on again, you will regret this mindset of trying to stay in place
as long as retards keep paying these prices, it’ll stay the way it is
I paid $30 for it. I think the whole set even if the disc is meh could go for $150 easy. Wild shit.
>Having things you enjoy is bad
>Spending times with friend or girl friend and popping in a game or movie you both like is bad
>Want's to live in a souless IKEA show room
I do both. I have a gaming room in my house with all the nerd shit and then the rest of the house is normalfag shit except my home theater which has the new state of the art consoles, tv etc.
collecting things isnt having things you enjoy
its hoarding to satisfy extremely base, animal impulses
its not a hobby and you are not doing anything
its boomer hoarder shit
MOVE ON.
>duhh pop in a game or movie
literally easier with digital archived media fucking child
you can't do both, either "collecting" infests your mindset and psyche or it doesn't. collecting is not a normal behavior, it's an animal behavior that you're falling prey to because you're basic.
I know this is a cliche response but playing on an emulator isn't the same as playing on a console.
Yes it truly doesn't FEEL the same. Would much rather play on a crt and a PS2/gamecube etc than my 3080 PC with an emulator.
That's how functions adults with job do it. Don't listen to It's okay to have a shelf with shit you like. I can tell he's a cool dude they way he forces his opinions on people so I'm sure he has a ton of friends ready to come over.
there are solutions for every console to play digitally archived games on the real console. no excuse.
Lmao based
If you're not a fucking crack head with no impulse control it won't jesus dude.
I am trying to help people. You can't see it because you think your mindless, vapid consumerism is harmless
it's not harmless, it hurts you, you are the one missing out
btw having a bunch of friends just means youre a fucking normie. i'm 40, people don't come over to your house at this age, btw.
>I am trying to help people.
I have a gf, a masters, a nice job and am fit at 33. I agree a hobby shouldn't control your life, but if I like getting a couple games to add to my collection every paycheck and I can still pay the bills why not?
Just hack a Wii and get the full library
I met Pat at a convention when I was working one of the retro booths, one of the most imitating people I have ever met
Yes my bookshelf with one shelf of PS2/GC games and Blu Ray movies will come for me. Soon my friends will start worrying about me and cutting ties. If only I was a functioning human being who worked 40 hour weeks and made 6 figures.
Just get an Everdrive
collecting is not a hobby. buying possessions you don't need is vapid consumerism. there is no hobby
do you have a pc-88 or something? no, you don't have anything meaningful, you have mass produced shit that you're now buying at prices 10x what iw as 5 years ago. artificially.
buy your gf something nice. buy a knife. learn to sharpen it
>getting rid of what you love to live a normalfag life
that was your first mistake
lmao then what are you doing here you lying faggot. Post abs with timestamp or get out lmaoooo
>Muh consoomerism
Bro you're on a video game forum. People buy video games. Let people control how they live their own life. We are not slaves to a higher power because we wanna play Mario Toadstool Tour
Just find a local game store that isn't participating in the pricehike phenomenon. Or do what I did, buy a GC Loader for $100 and play off an SD Card. It's so great what an ODE can offer those that want real hardware.
Are you assuming I don't play them? Maybe I like playing them the way the devs intended?
>Buy a knife learn to sharpen it
Okay you have to be joking lol. You see that on a new alpha male youtube video or what? Clearly the two people you're responding to are adults with their life together. What do you want from them lmao?
Need metroid prime 2, twilight princess, resident evil (0/1), rogue squadron.
