i like a lot about it but the level scaling and levelup system are absolute trash
>must level up 30 times with skills from 3 different attributes per level to maximize attributes
>must maximize endurance starting at level 1 to get max hp in the endgame
>can't get the best quest items (which you can only get 1 time) if you're not in the highest level bracket

Pure charm and soul. Best of both worlds. Huge flaws, but incredible peaks. Blew me away as much as it disappointing me. all in all, classic game. Not as good as morrowinds world building, but better combat and muh graphics on pc at the time were next level. Skyrims story was boring to me, oblivion felt like a real adventure in a creative colorful world. Fcuk level scaling though. Few mods and this game is top tier. Thankyou niggers.

i loved this game and it actually felt like you were on an adventure. the quests are actually fun to do. only thing that brings this game down is the level scaling

A heavily flawed game carried by the best quests in the series, along with one of the best expansions of all time. I still love it, but as an overall product it's really not great.

the quests aren't that great, stop this lie. most are braindead level scaled combat gauntlets and the ones people claim are amazing are usually just linear scripted events where your skills never actually matter and it's just the novelty people like. like the painting quest. you just fight level scaled trolls but in a painting. it's not interesting on anything but a thin surface level.

Better than every single Soulshit game, and harder too. The only thing that makes it "easier" is the save function. Remove that and SoulShitters would not be able to complete the game. You literally cannot refute this.

Between Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, they each have their strengths. Each title did something better than the other. For instance, Skyrim is not quite as good story wise as Morrowind, but of the three it's the least tedious to get through, literally irrefutable. It also has the best combat, but that's not saying much. Those make it more replayable in my book. As we all know, the main story is never the cream of the crop, it's the sidequests, sidetasks and exploration that usually take up the bulk of my time and give me the most enjoyment, and Skyrim has some of the best written sidequests, and most fun sidetasks to do in any of the games (crafting, hunting, etc.)

The ultimate Elder Scrolls game will take elements from each title, and take the mechanics further. Decisions need to have more of an impact on the world. I want to be able to incite a village into war, and either let them wipe themselves out, or take over as the leader, and either rule through peace or an iron fist.

Kids that played Oblivion in 2006 were not on Yea Forums, what? Up until around 6 years ago you'd be hard pressed to find anyone talking positively about unmodded Oblivion. I would know, I tried to start an Oblivion thread a long while ago and vividly remember getting absolutely shit on and the thread was eventually converted into a Morrowind thread. Now Morrowind gets shit on heavily on Yea Forums and Oblivion and Skyrim have normal threads all the time. 7th gen kids grew up, didn't like Morrowind or the elitists on Yea Forums and eventually outnumbered them. And it's going to happen to Oblivion in a few years too (get ready for all the "boomer trash" posts that now inhabit Morrowind threads), and possibly even Skyrim if this website lasts long enough.

Oblivion is just the bad middle ground between the janky RPG sandbox that is Morrowind, vs. the streamlined experience of Skyrim. Only nostalgia and years of Yea Forums indoctrination would make your disagree. Oblivion has a great OST, but it's not enough to elevate it from its actual core gameplay and writing problems.

I saw plenty of threads before about how good oblivion is when you get some mod that lets you get pregnant with every monster and dogs but they never say what the name of the mod

I'm trying it for the first time now. I have about 90 mods, since I already know what I want out of Bethesda games from playing Morrowind and Skyrim.

The Fighters Guild is longer, so it understandable that people remember not liking it more, and magic is just more interesting than sword smacking, but the Mages Guild is definitely worse. I won't spoil anything and I don't really want to poison your mind and make you go into it thinking you're going to hate it, but know that if you do there are at least better guilds.
