post 10 seconds of you playing any fighting game
I don't need to play to be good retard.
You don't.
If people can put in the effort to learn fucking Dota 2 or League they can put in the effort to learn any of the easier and more accessible fighters. They don't want to. Niche games are niche.
Fighting games made sense when they were the only meaningful games to play with your compatriots. Nowadays fg are overwhelmed, they are no longer the flagship games you buy consoles for. This is a niche that will die out in a while.
Make it so everyone wins
No one loses
You can't. Conversation over.
you want to fix fighting games? turn them into pic related. if someone actually made this shit with a real fighting game, people would play it
>KOF struggling to break 1k player 24 hour peaks
>not even two months old
uhhhhh snkbros? i thought this was a REAL fighting game? i thought all of the hardcore, true fighting game players would play it in droves and it would kill the casual trash like strive? what's happening!?
The biggest problem is the playerbase. It's just toxic
Too many fighting games that are almost identical aside from slight roster changes. I don't know why I need to buy one of the 10 FIGHT 2022 games that are coming out when I already own a lot of them from years ago.
Hotashi is racist to asians
This, just watching evo moment is enough to know how these games are
what level of cope is this for being a steamshits posting fag?
hello kfcpaz
Have you played for honor? everyone plays 4v4 which is gank central and super cancer as nobody gives a fuck about playing the objective
the actual interesting duel 1v1 or brawl 2v2 is fucking dead
Honestly I think it would sit at a "comfy" 2k if the match making wasn't fucked and the online was actually as good as Strive.
>AKA: FlatChestEnjoyer, I hate women
Because anything 1v1 related is frustrating for the player, especially when there is no RNG involved. If you lose in a fighting game its YOUR FAULT, you cannot blame the team nor the RNG, and that's super frustrating for the zoomzoom players.
Long story short : People don't want to be remembered they are trash in video-games.
1v1 still gets played. 2v2 is dead, yeah. 4v4 is the most active. my point is, nobody really wants a straight 1v1 game anymore, nobody cares about that and its reflected in dogshit sales and no player retention except for liscenced games and the few games that do sell, but even then, miserable retention. Ubisoft had the sense to lift the concept of something like Overwatch and apply it to melee fighting game and lifted SC2. fighting games will eventually be forced to piggyback on other game modes or die altogether, and I guess we're going to see which will happen
This, the game is actually good but SNK dropped the ball with the matchmaking, its too inconsistent and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't at all, and you need to change your location everytime (even refreshing it so changing and then putting the same old as it were) to make it work
The hardcore players were probably driven off by the overemphasis on meter dump combos. IMO making moves super cancellable for free is a big mistake.
I like 1v1 because it lets me play the game with another guy instead of trying to matchmake with other niggers who i don't even fucking know and I don't care to play with in a team, fuck off with your team shit and just play something teamwise, you have like 300 games that like your shitty team matchmaking with randoms
Make it fun for low level player, make the journey fun to learn and have ingame tutorial and system that goes further than "press x to light punch" and partial frame data.
In any multiplayer game the most important thing is to retain the low level fan base, they're the most important population, because when someone have no guy worse than him to beat, he leave the game, and the cycle follow for the guy after him.
Online bots could be a solution, they might even help teach player and shape a meta.
i'm just telling you the truth. the games will die or change. makes no difference to me either way, as I still have a locals
Even if they fix it by the time Rugal or South Town comes out I think it'll be to late. I expect KoF to go the way of melty blood.
The hardcore players were driven off by the notion of actually playing a fighting game
You gotta have good single player content like MK11 does.
If fighting game becomes arena fighters where you must play in a team then I will just drop the genre and just play action games or in fightcade, i don't give a shit about team games and they are such a huge waste of time
Now that I understand the good things of 1v1 I never want to go back to team matchmaking
>despite all hates it gets strive is a game with best player retention in years in entire fighting genre and its also best asw game ever when it comes to player retention even beating dbfz which is based off massively popular IP
i constantly hear people talking shit about this game here but this happens lmao. never played gg and never will but if you would tell me year ago this would be a thing i would laugh you off hard.
Yes, because fightcade kof is finally dead am I right
Fewer moves. And make them less of a dexterity check to execute them.
how's the number on console?
>i don't give a shit about team games and they are such a huge waste of time
all games are a waste of time
Single player content brings casuals in, but doesn't retain them or turn them into online players. I guarantee you 60-80% of the people who bought MK11, played story mode maybe some arcade/tower then never touched the game again.
>fewer moves
They've already been doing that or are you suggesting that characters should only have like 3 special moves and 4 normal attacks most?
>team games
>because of the nature of a team they usually last too long per match
>because its a team usually you have to deal with drops and random afk niggers
>because its a team you get punished if you leave
>because its a team MMR forces absolutely shit tier matchups
>because its a team you can't even look at replays because the result of a match can be outside your scope
>because its a team premades will always be an entire different game than random matchmaking
>because its a team you will always need to find new people for premades because the learning progress between people is entirely different
>because its a team its far easier to see the same niggers playing because there are fewer instances with player rotation
>because its a team its easier to report people because of esport faggotry and they dont even check what truly happened (although with f2p games like the dood wants it may end up being the same)
>kof is already at fucking 1k peak
LMAO. That seething spamming spic will probably kill himself.
I feel guilty for not playing fighting games much, especially the more niche ones that I actually enjoy
Don't feel guilty. They're shit.
Would you describe yourself as a guilty gear
there's plenty of RNG in fighting games.
3d fighters have stages selected at random that will benefit certain characters. some game engines have random elements inserted in them (especially earlier ones).
I'm a clown of fate
you really can't unless you make them downright braindead, fighting games are accessible as ever right now but they're by definition a hard genre to get good at
how is Hotashi the #7 Nago?
everytime i watch a tournament he's at least top 4 overall, he's great
its about some hidden elo shit from this ratingupdate.info site not about wins in tourneys.
OK i see, that makes more sense
I've been playing Arc games since 2009 and I still can't even forward+light attack anti-airs, just give me an anti-air 2H or something on everyone.
Just treat 6P as a poke, itll give your muscle memory incidental anti air capabilities. Alternatively some characters have slightly better 2H antiairs like Ky (his 6P is still better though)
>see person jump in
>press this combination of two buttons instead of this other combination of two buttons
Bro how are you struggling for this for over a decade?
I think its because every ArcSys game outside of GG use a crouching normal as anti air so it becomes jarring when moving to 6P
the very nature of fighting games means that a drop in players is inevitable. 1v1 competition appeals to a very specific kind of person and most would rather stick to team games like shooters or MOBAs
This, nobody plays fighting games on pc
Oh I mash the everloving piss out of 6P ground to ground in Strive because it's a kuso meme game where it beats 3/4 of some characters moves but that doesn't keep me from getting counterhit out of 4Ps when I try to keep people from casually jumping on my head.
Historically they are strange because they do not actually have offensive hitboxes that you would otherwise use for anti-air without the head invulnerability so the timing and positioning is different. I still have that problem really with whiffing them too early as opposed to just sticking out a big button and letting them run into it or being able to AA with cl.S so I can't accidentally cross myself up by walking forward.
The fighting game round table already proved that wrong I think. Both Tekken 7 and Strive have more players on PC than consoles. Incidentally there are more wifi players on consoles than PC but thats a given.
this
even rts games (which are also dying) have the ability to play in 2v2 3v3 ect and coop at the very least
fighting games literally have nothing outside of 1v1 and thats just not enough to draw attention these days when people want to play WITH their friends and not against them more than ever
So Strive can be fixed by using mods to uncensor the base females, but how do you fix Testament being a tranny? Also how do you fix the RWBY tier music?
If you play or like Testament to begin even from the old games, you were a raging homosexual to begin with, theres no "fixing" to be made.
You can't really. It's over for fighting games until a new one comes around and ends up super popular, kind of like what happened with street fighter 4. It's not so much a problem or retention as a problem of getting non-FGC people play them in the first place.
SF6 and project L have a slim chance of doing this but I have some doubts that the uninitiated would even be tempted to play them. They'd have to be F2P at the very least and probably include some sort of team mode, which it sounds like project L might.
>he doesn't like red like roses pt ii
Love the Subhuman Self clears the entire RWBY soundtrack
>Strivefags actually like RWBY
I agree tbdesu
give casuals some actual shit to do
how the fuck did they think street fighter 5 would sell with nothing but a story mode that's just 1-3 braindead easy fights and a shitty survival mode?
I will once again ask how is millia censored and not get a response.
This. I don't know why people are getting triggered at the truth and making personal anecdotes about their taste. I could love pure 1vs1 arena shooters but that doesn't change the fact that I'd be in the minority. Most popular FPS are team based shit like Valorant, CS:GO, or Apex. You want popularity and player retention? Fighting games have to change in a similar way.
Giving all the female fighters barefoot costumes and a free-camera mode similar to NVidia Ansel.
Because they sold 6 million by simply adding characters and moves back. They need to just cater to fighter fans instead of chasing casuals. They tried the stupid cinematics with SFxT and MvCI and bombed. Just make games for fighter fans who have lives and generally play 30 minutes a day instead of 8 hours like Open World/MMO players
I just booted up a fighting game and I will play it for the next three hours, cope more OP
>Stockings
>Longer coat than XRD's
>Coat much thicker
Don't. Just let the handfull of people who love them continue to love them, and the rest of you flavor of the month guys can go do something else
they also added an actual arcade mode, a cinematic story(even though it sucks ass), and extra battle where you can fight crazy strong boss characters
mortal kombat doesn't take over half a decade to sell several million units because they actually give people shit to do
>tfw still no CvS3
Thats pathetic. Street Fighter still having that many players if further proof that name brand triumphs over everything else.
