This is one of the most visual stunning games i have ever played and witnessed
This is one of the most visual stunning games i have ever played and witnessed
>another 1st party snoy game with high grahphic fidelity but terrible story, combat, exploration
how did sony manage to lure in the most braindead people who game by just showing them shiny colors?
>Incel who doesnt play video games saying that a game he never played is terrible
Dude why even come in this thread?
Just admit you didnt play it
What does Idolmaster Shiny Colors have to do with Ghodt of Tsushima?
Its ok. Needs gyro aiming with the bow
>I'm easily impressed
K, don't care and didn't ask. Game sucks.
>terrible story
elaborate? im still only in Act 1 (im not OP) but the story, for what it is, is neat. Repelling Mongolian invaders after they've begun to invade your island. Maybe the story falls apart later on.
>Combat
OK I gotta disagree here. Maybe it starts out shit because you have to unlock stances and abilities via typical lame RPG progression, but parrying feels great at least. The combat isnt as tight as Sekiro, understandably.
>Exploration
Agreed. You'd progress a bit and be taken out of the game to look at some new unlocks in the menu or a flashback in game. Besides being a typical Western open world design choice, it is specifically a Playstation First Party design choice. After playing Elden Ring I hate it
Name 3
THREE
games with better visual presentation.
You literally cant fag.
It captures the japanese aesthetics perfectly. The visual style is even applied when a cutscene comes
really enjoyed this game. first playthrough was on a ps5 with the directors cut in japanese.
they really deserve credit for how they handled the exploration with the wind, it was genius.
also lethal mode is the shit
It is very good.
Very good indeed.
I loved that one area with the violet or red flowers by an inn or hotspring. I think its between two mountains on the first island. It's what stuck with me the most.
Shame the story is just fan fiction surrounding a Hurricane killing thousands of people in real life.
Honestly just hilarious how much of Japanese history was influenced by thinking god was on their side for a gust of wind blowing through.
>visual stunning
yeah it is quite nice looking, shame about the cookie cutter copy paste bland ubiosoft tier gameplay and the shitty banham tier combat with a retarded story that tries to pull at hearts strings every turn, strings that are not their
>OMG GAME: JAPAN IS SO HECKIN' KINO! IT REMINDS ME OF MY HECKIN' SAMURAI MOVIES
sekiro, bloodborne, elden ring all have better aesthetics
Tsushima literally has the best story of any open world game. Great combat too. Exploration is also leagues above the competition solely by virtue of the guiding wind mechanic.
It’s one of the best games of the last decade and no amount of seething will change that.
>Shame the story is just fan fiction
Who cares. Pretty much 99% of all games stories are fictional.
PFAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Soulniggers are truly retarded holy shit
Having beat the game I somewhat agree with what the retard is saying. The game is super basic, with very little enemy variety, basic combat with the terrible stances since there's no fluid way to transition between then. The story is okay, a few of the beats hit pretty good but the vast majority of characters you meet are hyper 1 dimensional.
However, the presentation of everything makes the game far far greater than the sum of its parts
I think I know what area you’re talking about. It’s a field with violent flowers with a single inn. The interest part is that no story or side quests take you through there. The only actual piece of content there is that you can talk to the innkeeper who points you towards a quest. Strange considering how visually stunning that area is. Unless you’re talking about the Spider Lily fields, where you have a duel and a haiku there too.
Ugumi Cove is another favourite place of mine. I like the comfy crime ridden shanty town where a bunch of ronin and smugglers live. It gives off Mos Eisley vibes except with a swamp aesthetic.
Jin is an allegory for the storm. You also kill the Khan on a boat.
not that OP but I will add to it.
Story is shit, premise is good samurai gone rogue to beat the invading mongols but it is just crap, uncle gets kidnapped, gotta save him booo hooo I am killing people dishororabru, uncle betrays us wahhhh
Really shit story.
Combat is weak, not only is it just banham combat with sword instead but the stance switching is retarded and the controls are clunky.
Explorations is weak as fuck, literally ubisoft tier but without towers to open the map up.
I hope you like following foxes, taking a bath, weak climbing segments and talking gibberish to the scenery because you will be doing a fucking ton of it
I have played it and that user is correct
>best story of any open world game
lol wut
The story is fucking shit it is the weakest part of the entire game and that game has some serious weak parts.
The only good thing in that game is the visuals.
It is indeed a very nice looking game. I think it gets wanked over a bit too much by hardcore Playstation fanboys simply for being a PS Studios game though. I can't really play the game for more than a couple of hours without starting to get a bit bored so I've been slowly making my way through it in short sessions every now and then. I can imagine it being quite engrossing if you're into Samurai and Japanese history. I'm playing it with the JP voice acting with Eng subs for greater immersion.
>THREE
>games with better visual presentation.
arkham knight
God of war 4
Metro exodus, or last light
>directors cut in japanese.
I tried to play in japanese but it was English lip syncing. Have they changed that now, do the characters lip sync in japanese in the directors cut?
>arkham knight
yes
>God of War 4
no
>Metro games
maybe on par
apparently the directors cut on PS5 now has perfect lip sync for the Japanese, but directors cut on PS4 is synced for English only.
>>God of War 4
>no
have you even played the game?
The particle physics alone beat GoT
GoW4 visuals are stunning.
i think its a ps5 only thing for whatever strange reason
It’s a big budget open world ninja/samurai game. It’s a dream game if you’re a weeb that’s the sort of thing you’re into. The repetitive nature of the game doesn’t even bother me because the core gameplay is so enjoyable and it’s so technically impressive.
I have the Director’s Cut, but I’m not sure what it changes aside from the lip synch improvements and the fact it has all the DLC.
Nobody was taling about graphics you mong.
ARTSTYLE nigger
ARTSTYLE
Yeah. Shame about the gameplay.
He said visual presentation.
If it was just art style fuck even shit games like borderlands beats GoT in the artstyle dept.
Too many games to mention.
of course I've played it and I just don't agree. I think Tsushima blows it out of the water
DC with 4k mode on PS5 is really something else. It looks fucking stunning.
Now if the writing was a tad better, I'd really enjoy this game. sadly the side mission writing drags it down.
>Game
:|
>Game, Japan
:O
You mean the gameplay that’s really good? Name a deeper combat system in an open world game.
No way, visuals of GoW are top tier.
Shit even infamous second son visuals are better, same dev of course.
GoW4 has the segmented cells though and is not an open world like GoT so there is that.
in my opinion GoT had way more beautiful vistas, almost every area in the game could serve as a wallpaper. dont really get much of that in GoW
Proves that all Ubisoft needs to do is make an AC game in Japan
Played on my ps5. Do not understand how anyone thinks the game is good. Graphics are amazing but everything else is just copy paste open world shit. No sense of originality and nothing unique to make the game interesting. Worst part has to be the lack of weapons and combo animations. Yeah the dueling shit is fun but it gets old after a while and loses its cool factor the more it's spammed
The GoW visuals are good, no doubt about that, but they're also kind of bland. Colours tend to blend together and because of the close camera you never see a lot of the world at once. In GoT colours POP and with the wind interacting with everything in the environment it all looks alive and beautiful.
>Graphics are amazing but everything else is just copy paste open world shit
yes
>No sense of originality and nothing unique to make the game interesting
pretty true
>Worst part has to be the lack of weapons and combo animations
I'm fine with the Katana but it could definitely have used more animations or more stances.
Despite all of that I still liked it a lot. It doesn't innovate but it does a good job at stealing from other games.
>complain for years that western devs don’t know how to make good boss fights anymore
>Suddenly GoT has one of the most kino final boss fights I’ve seen in years
I really shouldn’t have been surprised coming from the devs behind “half as long, twice as bright”. Still, they really knew how to end this game with a bang.
same user.
Mediocre 6/10 game with pretty visuals.
Worse thing about it is people really like this generic shit so we won't see another INfamous game for a long time now.
dont think anyone is really claiming this game is super original. its just a really well made open world story game
Oh boy instant stealth takedowns and contextual instant kills. Can't wait to rummage around in every building under every rock for "supplies" so I can waste at least a third of my game time crafting "essentials". I really admire how this game like virtually every other open world stealth-action survival with crafting game strikes that uncanny balance between realistic sim by requiring me to forage but without any of the complexity, inventiveness, or sense of accomplishment that actual sandbox crafting open world games are supposed to provide.
At least I can explore, as long as I ignore the constant reminders of where I'm supposed to be going just like in every other open world craft-em-up.
This. The fact that they made the game perfectly playable without any HUD is quite unique in this day and age, but aside from that it’s praised because it’s by far the most well done iteration of its formula on the market. So many little things work to make the game a much more enjoyable experience to play:
>no pick up animations for items, don’t even need to get off your horse to pick shit up
>game lets you tackle content in any order and even has alternate dialogue and scenarios if you do things in a different order
>builds are really easy to make
>NPCs match your movement speed
>can fuck off in the middle of a mission to do something else with no penalty unless it’s a time pressured thing
>no Ubisoft towers
>can navigate the environment through environmental clues
>upgrades are unlocked very quickly
I could go on.
I agree with you on that, graphics look great.
Shame about the rest of the game (well, okay, subplot story arcs were pretty good, much better than main story one).
>is surprised that a game about being a ninja using guerrilla warfare has alot of sneaking and resource gathering
You never even mentioned how polished the gameplay is.
It's really good
>Terrible story and combat
>Calling other people braindead
The pottery :`)
That's the open world problem. The first few you play have the opportunity to seem incredible so people hype them up. But if you've played enough they're all the same shit so it's boring. GoT is one of the best open world games but they're so formulaic at this point that it doesn't warrant playing if you're sick of the genre.
I want this stupid fucking open world fad to die so bad.
I really don’t think that’s the fault of GoT. That’s more the fault of the industry as a whole. I don’t play every open world game that comes out precisely because of how formulaic they can get, but of the ones I have played, GoT is by far the best. It still impresses me how soulful the game feels, despite using a tired formula. The formula is actually perfect for the kind of game Tsushima is (how else would you reasonably handle the concept “open world stealth-action game about reclaiming your home from invaders”?). It’s just a shame that everyone has been doing a similar thing except with less soul for years now.
Elden Ring looks a lot better
only the graphics are good
I thought they were supposed to release this game on steam?
Pretty solid 8/10 game but I wish there was more wacky mystical surreal shit, the enemies would've looked cooler if they appeared more twisted and otherworldly or just straight demons. I hate it when games try to play it straight and be overly serious, they should embrace the absurd from time to time.
I found it refreshing how grounded it is. I like that it hints towards supernatural elements, but leaves it open to interpretation as to whether or not it has a supernatural cause.
You already have Tenchu, Sekiro and Nioh if you want demons and shit in your Feudal Japanese games.
Reminder that Lethal Mode is the definitive way to play the game. If you didn’t beat the game on Lethal, you’re a casual.
Its literally just another nu-Ass Creed game just like HZD and Days Gone. Soulless open world games. And I have played all of these but could finish more than 50% because they're all the fucking same
It's alright. Honestly, these types of games need supernatural elements so you're not just killing generic dudes every time.
Don't give me none of that shit that it wouldn't mesh with the story, tell a different story, if you wanna make a movie, make a movie, but games have different needs
