An enjoyable Final Fantasy game after so long time from the last one. And a game where its best quality is to be able to make you feel part of a close-knit group of friends, and with each their own passions and hobbies. Something of really unique even in his little details, like the unique dialogues in each of the wonderful dungeons exploration in the gorgeous openworld of Eos.
After having personally tasted the emotions of the finale, then, I can certainly classify this game as among the best Final Fantasy I have ever been able to play. And definitely in line with my favorites from the Playstation 1 era.
The first few hours of the game where it's just a gang of bros fucking around in the desert with their busted down car, were peak kino and unironically what the tone of the whole game should have been about. Fuck Ardyn and fuck this royal bloodline bullshit.
>You need a ME2 quality interaction Ew. I personally did not like this feature in FFXIII-2. ME2 was also about banging your friends, not being a close-knit group. But ME2 was a better game overall.
FF15 is chill and all, but it did not get to tolerable state before the Windows / Royal edition. Also, FFXIII games, especially the part 2 and LR, were magnificent FF titles, and all around better games to boot. And even those pale in comparison to Type-0.
Benjamin Hill
The best part of FF15 are the brotherhood between the characters.
I also really enjoyed the action gameplay and the really epic Lore. One of the most interesting of the whole franchise
Parker Lopez
So you have literally the shittiest taste in video games
Nathan Lee
FF15 is underrated
Cooper Cooper
Worst game in the series, Tabata should be shot and Barry should be slowly tortured to death for shilling this pile of shit
Jose Cox
Stranger of Paradise is unironically a better roadtrip game
Ian Phillips
Also unironically better in basically every department aside from performance, the gameplay is actually fun and Jack is a hilariously based character, the complete antithesis to the kind of whiny faggot Noctis is The other edgelords in the series at least had a decent enough story to justify their behavior or they changed throughout it, FFXV barely has a story and all the characters are boring retards
Nolan Campbell
>ME2 was also about banging your friends Its not but your coom brain thinks so apparently.
Adam Edwards
>FFXV barely has a story
because its story is in the anime, DLCs, novel, movie, etc..
Robert Price
Final Fantasy XV it is an actually great Final Fantasy game. At least
Leo Collins
Exactly. The game itself doesn't have one.
Benjamin Gonzalez
Sorry. ME2 was about banging half your friends.
Jaxson Perry
The funniest part of Noctis in particular being boring is he's a fine enough character if actually dropped into an environment solo, he's a sullen bitch mainly because MUH MISSION and divorced of that he actually has some things going for him. Final Fantasy XIV bizarrely does a better showcase of Noctis's personality than Final Fantasy XV does in the crossover event
Ayden Torres
is Barry still active or is it mostly his legacy?
Caleb Howard
I liked the FFXV story of the game
Jose Fisher
He's been quiet since April Fool's, maybe a bit before.
Chase Diaz
Sometimes I still like playing final fantasy xv, just for having some fun time
shame they still can't make shantotto interesting with crossovers, the whole squirrel girl thing applied to final fantasy lost its luster pretty quick
Parker Moore
I haven't come across him lately. Something seems to have happened around the release of SoP. He was on board with it for a while, then came out against it after release. Then seems to have disappeared. The last time I think I ran across him was in a FFXIII thread where someone ranted about how bad a game it was in all caps for hours. They never defended FFXV, but they never shit on it either.
Adrian Anderson
>brotrip 11 >gameplay -2 How many times do we need to have this thread? It screams for a remake imo, and if it ever gets a proper one to give it actual: >combat >itemization >magic >battles It could in fact be the best FF ever but when you shit eaters pretend it is good in the current state? That will never happen, so really you should join in with the rest of us on shitting on it at every turn if you actually want a better FF out of it.
John Gutierrez
It's still shit.
Jaxson Hall
The openworld of ffxv is still amazing even today
Isaac Turner
It wasn't Versus XIII and the combat sucked, so no matter how great the 4 characters were and how impactful the campfire scene was, this game just doesn't do it.
Mason King
This game is good
Ethan Johnson
That was a good line
Cooper Stewart
is there any namefag that haunts Yea Forums the same way Barry has since 2016?? Can't dip a toe into a FF thread without people calling out to him
Adam Myers
>close-knit group of friends It was a pampered royal and his slave-servants.
Hunter Cooper
Ruggarrel. He's the one who spams all of the racebait threads.
Lincoln Thompson
>and all the characters are boring retards Boring and adorable! Also, just play Nioh 2. It's SoP, but better.
>since 2016 lol he's been around since at least 2013 if not earlier
Hudson Reyes
>Gladio passed out drunk AGAIN come on man
Kayden Rogers
Used to be you couldn't swing a dead cat without running into Quentin. Otherwise I guess we've got Ruggarell who considers himself a master troll and it's either him or his minions that post most "MADE FOR BBC" race threads, and probably have a lot to do with the 24/7 tranny spam across large boards.
Barry's been around earlier but he didn't start getting REALLY notable until FFXV released and FFXIV started getting huge.
Aiden Ross
Barry specifically ascended into his current form when all of XV's plot and development issues leaked on Yea Forums like 6 months before it came out. He never recovered or calmed down
Tyler Clark
>Nioh 2. It's SoP but better. Haha no, Nioh's gameplay focus is pretty different and the job system is way more useful than Nioh's stance system. It runs a lot better since SoP was apparently B-team work, but I'm using job abilities and job changes constantly instead of kind of ignoring light stance exists and only switching to mid stance when learning boss movesets for easier getaways.
Cameron Phillips
>Quentin oh right, what a nightmare
Cooper Sanchez
>ignoring light stance What are you? Agility B/C? With light stance, you can be untouchable even if high stance dodges give you the most iframes. Not to mention Nioh 2 already has the ability to switch between your two equipped weapons on the fly. Going from a heavy hitting axe to fasting hitting fists while being able to use any of the three stances is fantastic.
Then you have everything else Nioh 2 does better from QoL to the overall amount of content. You can like SoP more, but Nioh 2 is the better game.
Liam Martinez
>With light stance, you can be untouchable even if high stance dodges give you the most iframes. It's not a hard enough RPS system that I'm really required or even feel the need to do this, is the thing. It's kinda there. >Not to mention Nioh 2 already has the ability to switch between your two equipped weapons on the fly. Going from a heavy hitting axe to fasting hitting fists while being able to use any of the three stances is fantastic. SoP does this *and* gives you a signature ability on R2 for it. In addition to that equipped weapon change I'm also changing out my complete armor set and I'm changing out a signature ability that can take the form of MP generation until next damage taken, or a big AoE attack, or an elemental weapon buff, and this is all on top of weapons all having unique mechanics. There's TWENTY EIGHT JOBS. >QoL Like? >overall amount of content. I dunno if Nioh 2 actually has that much more content when comparing base games. SoP also doesn't have its own DLCs and I think this would be a fairer assessment once SoP's have released.
Gavin Hernandez
Quentin was based.
Aiden Gray
Sorry ffxvbro but there’s no recovering from that Eyepatch Wolf video
Jordan Walker
What's required? You can play any game with the bare minimum of interaction and with AI party members, as dumb as they can be, there's a lot you do not have to do in SoP. The question is whether or not you're given the option to do it and Nioh 2 definitely gives you more options. And those options, if you choose to use them, enhance your performance greatly. But that is also the case in SoP. So, it's more of the style you like more which is fine.
For ages, FF fans have debated which FF is the best FF and it almost always comes down to something subjective. Not that you can be entirely objective, but that with video games, it's a lot easier because of feature sets, amount of content, quality of content, and performance. All of which Nioh 2 does better. But like so does Minecraft versus Dragon Quest Builders, but I'll always prefer DQB because it was more my style. I won't say DQB is "better" than Minecraft though.
That said, Nioh 2 also gives you unique abilities with your Guardian Spirit with their burst counter and their Yokai mode. Then there are the soul cores with add not only their signature ability, but also their passive. And those 28 jobs don't have 28 unique weapon mechanics. That's silly. Additionally, that's quantity over quality. Nioh 2's 11 weapons have just as much depth if not more than those 28 jobs put together. Each job skill tree is smaller than Nioh 2's 11 weapons and that's not including the Omnyo/Nintijsu and basic Samurai skill trees.
And who doesn't know about Nioh 2's QoL features? From filtering loot you can pick up to the fashion system that allows you to put on the appearing of any armor you have. Not to mention the crafting and customization options for your gear, weapons, and soul cores. Then there's the character creator which is one of the best in the industry, though it does make telling a story pretty shit with a mute protag.
And of course Nioh 2 has more content. Just look at the number of missions.
Brayden Torres
I think RDR2 have this game beat. Though you have to play the game really slow to get that comfy feeling with the rest of Dutch's crew and knowing the characters.Think this's what's missing with XV. They have somewhat of an idea by having these camp events. But I personally think it's not enough. The only one that you had a full on heart to heart talk was with Prompto. The only event I can remember about Ignis is the one where you cook breakfast with him. Gladio is the running on the beach event. It's sporadic and not well thought out and I think a lot of people missed these camp events. Because camping is not the best way to get EXPs. That sums up pretty much the issue with XV. A game with a bunch of nice ideas that aren't properly implemented.
Ayden Gray
hello Quentin
Dominic Watson
I bet if you play DBZF all you do is mash square.
Christopher Fisher
the whole "save the world" thing kinda ruined the vibe
i watched the stupid fucking anime and the movie before playing the game nothing that happens in the world matters to anyone and big events are forgotten as soon as the characters are done going through them it is a waste of time
I honestly can't accept that anyone thinks FFXV is a good game. There is literally nothing anyone can say to make me believe they aren't purposely shitposting.
Juan Cooper
Final Fantasy XV is the first fun Final Fantasy game to play since the PS2 era.
This is more than enough for considering it a cool game
Benjamin Morris
you'd be shocked how popular it is, not counting ports and re-releases I'm pretty sure its the 2nd best selling single player FF after 7. Also if you go on fanfiction or ao3 its got the most or second most stories too. People cosplay it and do fan art way more than 12 or 13 got. I dunno, its crazy. Huge fandom. Don't think its a lot of old FF fans though
Isaiah Martin
I enjoyed it and could make an argument as to why it's better than XIII. FFXIV is a good game though and a great FF game.
