Yes.

How do you replace those shitty test boxes with finished kino assets, you replicate the level in Blender or you design each asset individually and import it into the engine?

How I have learned to hate
>be working on game with childhood friend
>doesn’t know how to write for shit because he only watches capeshit
>literally threatens suicide whenever I criticize his writing and the fact that none of it makes sense

Not developing my own vidya, but I did wanted to blockout some map ideas for tf2c, however I was unable to figure out how to set up Hammer for it, as it literally has no correct files nor the executable to run it.

Yes, now with UE5!

I just make a texture and import it to Unity and make it a material. That floor texture doesn't even look like that anymore cuz I made it better. Here's a more updated pic although I'm not sure if u can see it well.

some day maybe

Do you guys have link to free assets? Mostly art, since i suck at that.

Why should I gamedev?
Why shouldn't I gamedev?

define art

Released an update right before I left to go on vacation, and now I'm discovering all these bugs with no way of fixing them for another two weeks

opengameart is useful

a friend of mine did make custom maps for tf2c and i know people have ported over newer maps into it, so it's definitely possible. you might be able to ask in the official d*scord if there is one

Slowly but surely. I'm not used to animating things with 4 legs, so this is taking me a while, but it is a good learning experience.

How do I game?

I'd say part of it is to figure out your strengths and work off of that. I do design and graphics so my starting point was making all sorts of characters and then molding a world/gameplay around that, although it's really probably a "person by person" basis as far as how to really get started.

Pixelshit or vector graphics is fine

but like art of what? character sprites? hills? grass? logos?

Had a lot of fun texturing lately

Characters, enemies, landscapes.
Anything basically for a 2D game.

this thread is 90% gamedevs trying to shill their product
its pointless to post here

Trainwiz

Thanks user:) godbless

>its pointless to post here
Just like in any other thread?

It's kinda weird how those threads evolved from anons making random free shit to companies selling games here

I'm part of the problem.
i want to shill my game here too.
to be fair, my game is 100% free and anons could play it if they wanted to.
but i am only making that game free so i can farm starting clout easier for when i try and make a living off of selling games

that game better sell well after 5+ years of development

OOH RISE UP! YE, GAME DEV!
Ye amateurs, who still make
The call of vidya speaks to us all
NO DEV, chieftain of the shitposting
The ever brilliant IDEAS GUY
The LOATHESOME SHILL POSTER
ART GUY, the programmers companion
And SIR ENGINE DEV, THE NEVER FINISHING

>complains about anons shilling their games here because no big company will shill them
>only buys AAA trash
checks out

Can't stop playing with my menu, while i have so much other shit to do.

The gamedev thread is full of gamedevs going over their games that they developed with the intent to sell? Oh no, please say it isn't so!

But seriously, I'm not seeing your point? Are you saying gamedevs should only post here if they are going to give you the game for free?

I love your menu!
C-can you post more of this cute gobbo?

Thanks! She's not a very active npc though.

Cute! Got any tips on 3d modeling and texturing? I really like how your game looks.

shouldn't a gamedev thread be for game developers to post their process and give eachother advice? anything you post gets swallowed by other progress posts with few replies

godspeed user, it is my dream to make a MH type game if you're the same dude with the small head pitbull thing

Practice and practice, your game doesn't need to look the best as long as its consistent in its style.
Just find a style like and practice till you can create it consistently.

3d modelling is very much trial and error, watch some basics on youtube but mostly just start creating and trying, you're going to fail many times, i still fuck up too at times but once you get hang of your personal pipeline things will come easy.

I think people stopped asking for advice when unity took over, no point in asking advice for something that does everything for you

I had this in mind for a long time, how do I make a functional computer inside a game like Welcome to the Game for example
what's the concept behind it?

>when unity took over
And when, Mr Schizo, was this?

A style you like* even.

someone reached out to me asking if I wanted to participate in an online convention for monster taming games, i'm pretty excited. i put together a video for it

I don't know, 7 years ago or so?

Is there a "Games Factory" / "Multimedia Fusion" for 3D games?

Something extremely simple and straightforward even a total codelett child could use to cook up something working within minutes?

Attached: file.png (1280x720, 576.97K)

Nice menu user.

Got tile blitting with scrolling to work in Clickteam Fusion, working on a level editor.

itch.io has a bunch

Good afternoon I hate shaders

maybe game guru, you can get it on steam

Welcome to the club, doing anything in hlsl is painful

its simple but appealing

your dream game won't make itself, user

The legs move in a rather stiff way, it looks as if the animal doesn't have any knees.

Joined a dungeon crawler game jam as an artist, just to flex a bit. I'm still working on Void Survivor. But I'm helping out two people this year in the jam with graphics.

>Great one high detailed asset
>Get burned out/lose interest and fuck off
>Devs are left trying to figure out what to do with it

I like your style user

Finishing more quests about spaceborne haunted plagues and all that. Also added some ways for scripts to constantly check and update, if they're registered to do so.
