>Chris Roberts: The philosophy of the game is that there's nothing in game that you can only buy with money. You can earn everything playing the game.
After allowing ships to be purchased with in-game currency Star Citizen upholds another promise and adds previously exclusive subscriber items to the in-game missions loot chests.
>everything is still pre-pre-alpha, so don't complain about bugs and missing/barebones/unbalanced features! >the ingame economy is final, so they upheld their promise! the duality of the cultist
Jackson Howard
Can't wait for the prowler to get that hover mode it is meant to have functional. It'll finally give it something a little special to make it stand out against the other dropships.
Of course, a reason for dropships to exist at all would be nice too.
If it takes longer to grind than it does to earn the money working minimum wage to buy the ship the grind is bullshit.
Nicholas Hughes
can you post a video of some of the gameplay of these missions?
Jeremiah Flores
This game has already entered a new phase, now it is like a Patreon project. Ten years later and the game is still in the "crowdfunding" phase, raising more than ever. Imagine doing a kickstarter campaign now, in 2022, and in 2032 you are still doing a campaign to raise money? How can people not see the problem?
gullible nerds with sunk cost they'll extract money from them for as long as they can and why wouldn't they? you'd do the same if people offered you millions and all you had to do was lie
Oliver Jackson
Who the fuck is funding this thing? Must be bored millionaires only at this point.
Austin Green
>you'd do the same That's where you are wrong. Some of us have a moral compass. Say for example you found a wallet with ID in it and $200. Would you keep the money or not? If you did well you're a cunt.
Anthony Lewis
no, because that's illegal. there's nothing illegal about developing patreonscam vaporware.
Christian Collins
I don't have any footage of ME playing them no, I'm not a streamer or youtuber or whatever. I've taken a few screenshots but no recordings I'm afraid. I'm sure something will come up for you if you search for "Star Citizen bunker mission" or "Star Citizen 890j mission" things like that.
There are several types of missions but bunkers and the 890j mission involve a lot of shooting, so would probably make more interesting viewing. The lootboxes are also available on the non-combat missions too, like when salvaging boxes from a wreck or looking for a missing person, but that's really only fun if you're the one doing it.
Here's a picture of me in my aurora, one of the two newbships, though this is a slightly different model to the one people will usually have, since I rented it in-game. It has more powerful weapons but is more or less the same in all other ways to the default $40 aurora.
The game does have some pretty nice looking ship models. This is the game that said it would have the ability to let you do anything in it right? Like multiple game genres rolled into one somehow?
Carter Perez
>loot chests Jesus Christ this game is just getting worse and worse. At this point I feel sorry for the cultists who bought into this farce
What is wrong with them? You'd rather the items were just loose on surfaces? Some are, a box is just a convenient container for them. It seems reasonable to assume that the pirates/homeless people you just shot would have put their shit in a box.
Isaiah Rivera
>spend over a decade waiting for the game to release out of early access >spend another decade grinding for in game items in loot chests Scam Citizen really manages to hit all fields on its bingo card.
Gabriel Harris
you are aware that 'loot chest' in modern gaming terms means a random drop, usually with flashy shit to indicate increased rarity of items
Luis Carter
>Buy a game package for $42 five years ago >Haven't spent a single extra cent on the game since >Have had hundreds of hours of gameplay both solo and in groups, have flown loads of different ships some I bought in-game, some I rented, some I just asked another player nicely if I could borrow it for a bit >Have crawled through dark caves looking for dead people >Have explored through destroyed space station uncovering hints that it wasn't an accident which destroyed it and the person publicly blamed was innocent >Have gunned down pirates boarding a luxury yacht in orbit around a gas giant >Have hunted other players with bounties and been hunted in turn >Have escaped from prison with a total stranger before being picked up by his friend in a tiny little shuttlecraft >Have assisted huge groups of players in events like xenothreat, contributing to the fighting with my shitty little ship while the massive cap ships duke it out
And i'm never going to be able to convince you that i'm not lying. You are utterly and totally convinced that everything I just wrote was a lie, I must be lying, Star Citizen isn't real, it's a scam, it doesn't exist, I must be a paid shill or something.
How can you watch something like ; youtu.be/31v7sSGfTm8 and still think the game doesn't even exist? It may not be a good game, it may not be keeping its promises, but to actually argue that the game doesn't even exist is total lunacy
Evan Howard
Because it's a scripted make believe scenario? Are you dumb?
Parker Nelson
can cultists even operate without strawmen? when you guys burn down your collective strawman at night, do you also cuddle like cute buttbuddies?
the fact you describe shooting a dozen braindead AI being spawned in an empty ship with terrible jank gunplay as >Have gunned down pirates boarding a luxury yacht in orbit around a gas giant makes you the laughing stock that you are. such utterly unorganic writing would put even hardened EA marketing interns to shame imagine being a physical manifestation of fake coop voip out of AAA gameplay trailers, what pitiful existence
>how can you watch scripted shilltubers and not think it's scripted we call it basic awareness
Tyler Barnes
You can roleplay with nothing but a piece of paper, dice, and some friends around a table, you mental retard. If you think you are "proving" that there is a game and not just a shitty tech demo to take money from suckers like you, try again.
Adrian Kelly
I didn't say anything about scripted, I said that the game exists. It is a video game which you can play. There are people here who deny that, who claim the game itself does not exist, it is not real and it cannot be played at all.
Which claim are you making? The youtube video I linked is heavily scripted, that's what that guy does, but the game is real, it does exist.
Jaxson Thomas
Scam Citizen cultists need to be gassed.
Ian Reed
i have never seen any evidence that star citizen is real even the video shared above is just shitty cgi
Aiden Cruz
Because I have seen other videos that glitched and repeated the render where the guy "playing" talked as if the glitch of repeated pre-rendered gameplay hadn't happened.
>There are people here who deny that, who claim the game itself does not exist, it is not real and it cannot be played at all. kek, again with the invisible strawman the >game exists in a state of subliminal alpha tech demo husk that's what everyone means when they write >game, you're just too much of a braindead cultist to understand it. so you interpret as outright denial of the existence of an .exe that you can run to spawn in a 3D enviroment
here's video evidence of your >game existing, I hope this will aid you in shadowboxing against the boogeyman you constructed in your koolaid-filled head
What? You know you can download the same build in that video and see for yourself right?
Caleb Cooper
>Yea Forums is the same person Truly the mind of the cultists is an enigma My favorite part is in that very video a cultists says "the g-game is fun when it's not a buggy mess"
Carson Rodriguez
now post the "desert assault" one, where a discord group of retards counts down from three to start suppressive firing at rocks to fight over a piece of empty land for no reason other than recording a LARP video
literally play-pretending gameplay that exists in an organic way in games like planetside and battlefield. sad!
Ethan Jenkins
If the game doesn't exist then what the fuck am I playing right now? I'm flying an Arrow light fighter against several other players right now in arena commander mode.
Jaxon Roberts
>he keeps holding on tight to his retarded strawman premise cultists are fucking hilarious
There genuinely is nothing I can say or show you that would make you believe the game isn't just CGI video, is there? I am at a fucking loss for words, this is ridiculous.
You wouldn't believe me even if I came around your house, installed the fucking game on your PC and had you play it yourself, you'd still be convinced it's fake and everyone else is brainwashed. That's fucking crazy user.
Alexander Nelson
Good coffee is a huge motivational factor for any work environment. Of all the things they've used money on, this is the least offensive one. You could atleast have posted the doors
Jason Ortiz
>There genuinely is nothing I can say or show you that would make you believe the game isn't just CGI video, is there? man you just keep droning on and on and on. apparently CIG now also sells lobotomies, or maybe it's just your speech chip stuck in the wrong decision branch either way, what a pitiful existence you live
>what the fuck am I playing right now? a $100 million alpha build
Nicholas Jenkins
hey cultist, did you know that there's a FINISHED game called Starglider 2 on the Atari ST from 1988 that allowed you to travel seemlessly from one planet to another, also shoot at space ships and it didn't take a money laundering of over a decade to create.
James Morales
>then what the fuck am I playing right now a trainwreck
Matthew Cruz
He didn't say $200 he said literal millions Unless you're one of those people who believes you deserve to be poor you'd take the money if all it took was one lie
Jordan Lewis
if this is your impression of a cultist unable to read the room, you're doing a cracking job there m80
I know this is an older webm but the talent gap on display in this video is amazing. look at all the work that went into modeling and texturing all that stuff, and then note how the back hatch is apparently doesn't have separate physics from the rest of the ship. it props up the whole vessel. I have seen other videos of guys getting out of ships and when the back hatch lowers it pushes against the ground and pushes the entire vessel in the same way. instantly shatters any sense of reality. have they fixed this?
Ayden Garcia
>talent gap if prutty pictures of concept ships is what draws the money in, that's where the focus will be put. CIG has honed the art of overpromising and underdelivering to absolute perfection
if they keep delivering content in the next 4 years, yes
Ian Baker
desu if these niggas are so willing to pump out money on an unfinished, barely functioning "game", then they don't deserve that money. I'd rather Chris Roberts use that money to buy yachts and coffee machines.
Elijah Wilson
the best part is how they took so long that their graphics engine is now dated
