You’re sort of right, but yes, laziness is a major factor, speaking from experience because I’ve been trying to work with other argentinians and they’re ALWAYS coming up with some sort of excuse as to why they can’t make any meaningful contribution to a project or why they can’t deliver what they’re tasked with doing on time, not to mention they’re unprofessional to the point that they even flat out refuse to answer messages when you ask them why that sprite sheet, model or character design you asked from them and either paid for already or they explicitly promised to deliver is taking so damn long.

Programming is not pushed in schools etc. like in many other countries. Most people have no idea what "computer programming" means.

People here don't know how to teach game making, i've been studying in a programming university for over 2 years and still feel like i can't create something as basic as pong.

This, it's a combination of a lot of people being tech illiterate and not having the time and energy to make vidya even if they know how. Then there's also the conceptual barrier of getting people to realize it's something they can set out to do, thou that doesn't seem to be as much of an issue with people under like 20 thankfully.

this , here in Costa Rica brain drain its a massive problem, we got good professional but most people try to chase work opportunities outside of the country

Lack of game studios, there are little to no studios, and a lot of good job opportunities on normal software dev jobs, if you want to make a game it must done without any job experience.

The studios we have are really stupid and try to compete with the west market making AAA games with no money and little experience, this is probably fault of normalfags constantly sucking off movie games, when the obvios path for a starting company is trying to make a niche indie game.

I want to make a game and i have the programming knowledge and skills, but i working 2 full time jobs and finishing Uni, so thats my excuse, maybe when i finish Uni.
