So I bought this game from a local guy for $100 from the facebook marketplace. Basically it's a trip back to childhood to relieve the nostalgia since mine got stolen when I was in school by another kid. It works great so far with one exception. It fails to save in the Elite 4 and when I restart I'm back to where I saved before facing Lance. This got me thinking that maybe the product is fake but I don't know, it doesn't show any other problems so far. Although it does feel kinda light in weight
Is this a fake product or am I getting paranoid?

weren't crystal game paks for the gbc?
the "nintendo gameboy" label should be bulging out right?
crystal had a GBC cart didn't it
that looks like the og GC carts with the notch
every pokemon game for sale online is likely fake
Emulate
doesn't even have the glitter in the plastic you retard
nostalgianiggers are the most retarded, you deserve getting scammed
Are the people buying retro games zoomers pretending to be boomers? How the fuck do you not know what a GBC cart looks like?
This has to be bait, but yes that's fake
Crystal had a GBC cart (so not only is the label at the top incorrect, it should be bulging), was lighter blue and a speckled appearance.
The sticker itself should also be foil.
crystal does not run on a normal gameboy unlike gold/silver, yes.
I know this is bait but do retards really buy cartridges only? I'm a boomer collecting DS games and I refuse to buy anything that isn't in a box with the booklet.
You buy a game at a premium you are already retarded if you do that why go even deeper in the retardation and only buy the worthless cartridge when you can have the complete product?
For fuck's sake OP you can clearly tell whatever PCB in there isn't even filling up the entire cartridge like it should.
Pretty sure Crystal was Transparent Turquoise with Glitter for some reason.
this, buying game boy
>Zelda
>Castlevania
>Pokemon
>Metroid
Market is like 90% copies. If it doesnt come complete, your asking for it. Could you believe some guy gave me Aria of Sorrow back in the early days on ebay when i bought his GBAdvance
People that give any value to worthless shit like this are funny, especially since it can be emulated easily.
>People are paying millions for super mario bros
Retards deserve to get scammed though.
>buying retro games in current year
Why? Literally why. Their pcbs are erroding, there's constant scams that are a lot better than your OP, the prices are unreasonably jacked up, and your goal isn't even it actually play it. If you wanted to collect you should've done so years ago, now you're just lining rando's wallets
>PS2 Mushihimesama LE
Based, I have it too.
What is scary is that chinks are producing more and more fakes that come with the box and shit. Luckilly it is easy to spot especially for the D but they are constantly improving.
>he thinks random people are the ones buying SMB for millions
Lol. It’s the owners buying from their own auction house to inflate the perceived value.
Oh I know that, but it increases the perceived value of all copies, and retards are actually buying. Sure, not for millions, but for very inflated prices.
very jealous of the castlevania, user supreme taste
This it's a flash rom, how dumb are you op you faggot stop getting scammed

>The schizo that posts pictures of blatantly fake Pokemon cartridges taken from Reddit and Facebook is back
It's a hobby thing.
Got these also. Curse of Moon 2 and the DX-SotN versions on preorder with similar boxes
he's a pc fag obviously, physical game ownership goes over their heads.
Bait
Yeah that part is true. I can’t even find a 3DS Nintendo selects copy for less than 40€ thanks to this retardation. Nintendo selects titles were 19.99€ at launch.
I don't care about physical or digital, because physical is 100% dead these days. It's just about playing on and maintaining old hardware.
That's not even that bad. Game Boys of all kinds are going for $60-80 minimum these days. Regardless of condition.
I gave up. Too expensive at this point. I rather spend my money on onaholes. Good luck too anyone buying retro games in 2021. Just pirate games on og hardware.
You fucking Zoomers are retarded. It's money laundering. Welcome to the art and auction world faggots.
If it came in a cardboard box, I'm happy to buy it loose.
/vr/ might joke about collector hoarding "rotting plastic", but unless a cardboard box was intentionally cared for, they tend to look like shit after 10 years.
Like the one in my picture. Even though the box has probably been kept out of sunlight and has been sitting on a shelf, it's still rather worn.
dumb fuck. it was GBC only so it didn't have the little inverted corner in the top right. the original gameboy power switch had a slider that would slide over and hold the cartridge in place when it was turned on. GBC only cartridges didn't have this inverted corner so that an original GB couldn't be powered on with them in.
>has a very simplistic view of things
>calls me a zoomer
It’s not just money laundering. It’s creating a bubble and profiting off of retards. The guy behind the million-dollar SMB game took part in the coin bubble of the 80’s. He’s doing exactly the same thing with games.
Not that bad? I’m not paying 60 fucking euros for a used nintendo selects copy of Luigi’s Mansion 2.
Should have just hacked your 3DS. There was LITERALLY no excuse not to.
I sure hope you're joking OP. If you are, good bait, but just in case: Yes, that's a fake cart. The sticker has the wrong proportions, the casing isn't glittery, and it doesn't have an imprinted set of numbers on the sticker. Also, the text AND font on the top bit of the cartridge are wrong. The real cart looks a lot more like this Thanks for posting, I actually really like trying to figure out if a cart is fake or not.
I'm also a boomer who collects sealed vinyls and even I think paying 10x more for a cardboard box for a game boy game is retarded.
That was an example. I already own the game and I’m not looking to obtain 3DS games or collect them for that matter.
Also this thread is about physical copies, why are you talking about hacking?
>vinyls
poser
>he didn't ever smash a hipster chick
Mald
Fake as shit
Im probably the biggest vinyl collector on Yea Forums easily when it comes to Anime, Jap, Game vinyls. I wish it was that easy user, that you can just buy a new sealed vinyl and expect a 100% perfect product like a video game. You have to play test them, theres always chance of a factory damage or off center pressings. You have no idea how much i buy new, play and send back for another copy because the new $60 has more pops and cracks than a used record.
Fake cart is wrong shade of blue and no glitter
>vinyls
lol
based as fuck apart from opening them, godspeed user
>things that non-virgins care about
>he doesnt know what im referring to
oh nonono
also i own sealed Loveless and Smile Sessions because I've been collecting for years and not imitating a youtube eceleb, stay mad
>vinyls
lmao
I wasn't even aware this is an e-celeb thing. Given yourself away a bit there user. Good luck!
Big time fake
I'm sorry op, I'm playing it for free on the superior 3d version
Get a RCMachine. I used to play them and be scared to play them due to dust and how hard it is to get off the records. This thing liberates you from that and even new records should be put through this machine,
Also Everyone hating on Records, this a upload I made. This is the kind of audio quality you can get from a vinyl. Music might not be to your liking but turn it up and listen to the absolute fidelity .
this has to be bait. nobody is this retarded that they cant even recognize cart shapes. do you buy nes games and try ti play them in a snes?
>that loli ass
Seems fake to me senpai
Crystal had the batery showing and the cartridge was glittery
Also it was an gbc exclusive so top should be an outie
Its probably a fake rom
This is exactly what I remember it looking like. Not ops pic
That's fake as fuck bro see
>spends 100 bucks on pkmn crystal
>cartridge doesn't have a gameboy logo
>cartridge doesn't have the blue glitter design
This is either bait or you're a zoomer.
holy fuck you fucking idiots, all of you. you can see through the transparent shell how the PCB is only half size. OP, if youre not baiting, which you most likely are, you got scammed
this is the girl from the wall scroll
