glad he didn't filter me. he looked like a filter when first fighting him.
rest of the game plus dlcs were really good
Yes I'm glad I figured out how flux 2 actually works. I just spent 15 minutes running between the back legs. He killed me twice at one last hit before I finally finished him off.
The entire game has gotten a lot easier now that I've discovered flux 2 lets you flux twice. Its kind of busted actually.
fun enemy to look at but not one you have any interest in fighting again after the first time. At least the other giant boss is useful to farm weapon skill points
haha splitstaff goes brrrrrr
Nioh 1 Saika> Nioh 2 Saika.
Ye he was pretty shit. Not nearly as shit as most of ER's bosses however.
In what way?
I died more to 2's despite being an absolute noob perma midstance 1kat user on 1.
picked the game back up on dotw but i honestly don't know what weapons or build to use
i always come back to hatchets and 1kat for some reason
Try fists and melt everything in your path.
Hatchets and axes are lame
1kat is sick if you can get into the Finger Twister that is chaining HML stance swap iais
Fists are too difficult for me but very cool and scale well with end-game build autism if that's your thing
Switchglaives and Splitstaves are very easy 'press button to cool' weapons
Honestly though I think Spear is the best mixture of engaging, versatile and effective weapon to get really into but a lot of its better tools are locked behind text drops which require a bit of grinding and crafting armor sets
>perma midstance 1kat user on 1
Based true samurai.
>fists
>difficult
wat
They're some of the easiest weapons to use and combo with.
Switchglaive are easy modo once you unlock

i did early on for a while, they honestly seemed kinda boring with how busted they were. the stack mechanic was fun though.
i like hatches for the same reason i like 1kat. the charged attacks and grapples are fun, lots of versatile moves. i know most people dislike them but i find them fun.
axe, staff and glaive all seemed pretty whatever to me when i tried them. like they're good but kinda too straightforward. same with 2kat which is braindead, even though i like how it looks.
i might try spear again.
>never played the nioh 1 dlcs so I'm doing a fresh playthrough
bros I miss the yokai mechanics
I don't get the hate for this boss, he's honestly pretty fun just a little easy
Yea I barely used the yokai shit abilities but not having the burst counter makes it a lot less forgiving.
Gets a lot harder factoring in Unbroken when you have to plough through your whole 50+ moveset in one take
I never used the yokai skills except for the defense big red counter that the game teaches you early on. From Nioh 3 I want more practical counter/defense skills.
you missed out, the yokai skills add another layer to the combat and are fantastic for combo potential. they're not just an emergency button like yokai shift
What the goddamn shid is fun about
>roll
>attack attack
>move to other leg
>roll
>attack attack
>move to other leg
>x50
I've seen some cool combo videos that incorporate them but it's just not my playstyle. I would have used them if the game made it mandatory but I got by fine just using Odachi and 1kat and nothing else but basic combos, stance switching, weapon skills. Even in games like DMC and Bayo I always use simple effective combos instead of the crazy flashy stuff that would take a lot longer to get good at.
Nioh 2 was fun levels and encounters within those levels but half the bosses are actual shit and the other half are a mixed bag of slightly less shit and barely alright.
>odachi
literally babby mode
>I would have used them if the game made it mandatory but I got by fine
this is something I love about nioh, the game has so many tools that you can simply pick and choose from to your liking
who cares if he has fun
You're just mad Odachichads can Quick Attack, Quick Attack in High Stance which stunlocks everything into submission.
did you know you regen ki while using them? So you can throw out a combo using all your ki, pop an ability and regen while its in use and then have full stamina to continue attacking
git gud
He's fun in that his fight is fairly unique but it's sadly pretty jank. Not the most difficult boss though so you should be able to manage nonetheless. His summon is cool too
I'm gonna fuckin' lose it bros. I've killed the kappa guy 70+ times and he hasn't dropped his kusarigama smithing text. Send help
Use a trainer.
I hope you're not on cucksole.
I just might. Smithing text farming is the worst part of this game
This, he just ends up being a more tedious fight when he starts flying in the air and you can't really capitalize on it nearly as hard as in Nioh 1. I get he was a joke in the first game, but he was just made unfun in the second game.
This is why everyone should start off with Nioh 1 even if it is just one playthrough. Nioh 2 is strictly better than Nioh 1 in every way and universally everyone says that (except a fighting game fag sperging out about "punching bag" enemies).
is the kusarigama any good? feels like nobody ever uses it in 2.
Just do it user. I fucking love Nioh but there's no excuse for the retarded drop rates.
Is this a thing. I've got zero (0 [zilch (nada)]) good katana smithing texts and I thought they were just a really late game thing.
It only has two good skills and one of them is only good against humans.
It's got great utility against human enemies, a varied moveset which makes all stances feel great where quick attack and strong attack serve different functions (something that isn't really the case with other weapon types imo), decent aoe and control then a beastly "hold button to dps" move in Reaper. The only thing that feels bad is that you need to put in some effort to getting rid of Yokai ki before you can go ham with Reaper.
>there's no excuse for the retarded drop rates.
The excuse is that they want to inflate their playtimes. They even nerfed ways to share loot and even nerfed save scumming. Fuck team ninja.
Kinda getting burnt out since I started playing about a week and a bit ago. Does anyone wanna coop or something?
I just yolo and go full reaper even while they have half stamina. If I get good rng and they let me go, they're out of stamina. If I don't, I'm dead lol.
It's about middle of the pack. It has a stupid amount of item and feather cancels on damn near all of its attacks like Hatchets giving it alot of utility
I'm amazed it is this that doesn't get complained often enough, instead it's always "NOOOOO I HAVE TO GET RID OF USELESS LOOT I HOARD FOR NO REASON".
Yeah, it reached the point for some enemies where if I know they are locked in place, I just reaper anyway like Otekmaru's slash before he does that overhead slam. Also sometimes yokai enemies will do the bitch move of dodging just before your Reaper starts which sucks because it has such short range. I wish there was more utility against Yokai's and that the kick did either more damage or more ki damage.
>that one side mission where you guide a little shota to his monster mom and get to skip the boss fight
Nioh 2 really had a lot of neat little ideas
You are like little baby
watch this
At least Azai is a great fight. But yeah they should have at the very least made the optional sidequests guarantee a drop of their art of combat and all smithing texts or if that is "too easy", guaranteed it for fighting them in scrolls.
The whole game is lame
Its big-sized boss problem again.
>Camera goes spastic
>Boss doesnt really move properly, just slide around
>You only see and hit the legs most of the times
All the game needs is a pity system imo, +0,5% drop chance for every kill. Grinding a boss to perfection to steal their skills is cool, but not when I have to do it so many times that I'm starting to think my game is glitched
>Have performance impact drop rates
>No hit increases your chance
>Completely draining Ki (putting enemies in grapple state) increases your chance
>Faster kills increase your chance
>Anything that incentivizes refighting bosses while asking you to get better gives you more reward
This is how you should make grinding enemies more fun.
Unironically they should have some kind of armor set that gives these buffs.
>Play Axe vs Yokai
>EZ Win
>Play Axe vs Humans
>pain
this is sad
Really? Axe is pretty good against humans for me, at least in high stance. Shreds ki desu.
You mean something like Magic Find? I've played many game that have gear sets like that and the problem is, people will enter autismo minmax mode where they try to mentally calculate if the increase of drop rate is worth the loss of speed in killing the boss, so if the drop rate increase does not outweigh the benefit of killing the boss faster, it is useless. If it isn't, then it ends up being busted. If they were to add magic find in an action based game like Nioh, it should be based on how skillful you were rather than the piece of gear you wear.
>I'm amazed it is this that doesn't get complained often enough, instead it's always "NOOOOO I HAVE TO GET RID OF USELESS LOOT I HOARD FOR NO REASON".
you have to actually play the game and be competent at it to know its real flaws, but most complaints come from retards that didn't even know what they were buying and played for two hours so the proper criticism gets drowned out by them
Couldn’t they just do what they did in nioh 1 and let you spend ochoko cups to increase drop rate?
It's also in Nioh 2 but I for some reason completely forgot you can craft "item drop rate" and "equipment drop rate" on most of your gear, thing is, it just isn't enough and you will have to do a decent amount of grinding to get the smithing text/art of combat you want.
you can do that iirc, or maybe it only increases the chances to drop high rarity equipment
