REALLY? what does fromsoftware have to do at this point?
Not even Elden Ring and all the hype behind it could dethrone Bloodborne as the fan favorite

Armored Borne
Only Yea Forumsirgins circlejerk about old ass souls game, pretending they're anyhow better than the new ones.
They didn't even have jumping, for fucks sake.
Only Yea Forums keeps cocksucking that game
Elden Ring is definitely the most celebrated FROMSOFT release.
Bloodborne is more a cult.
A sequel
Except it did have jumping
Reminder that literally nobody bought Bloodborne and that Sony couldn't even give it away for free.
Bloodborne is liked by that tranny who's trying to remake it for PC. Therefore, automatically tainted.
I do not own a playstation and I must sneed.
It just had better gameplay
Open worlds are for normies but at the core the better gameplay will always carry a game among actual gamers.
Trick weapons again.
Bloodborne 2, or just a game as tightly designed as BB was. No need to jump on the open world bandwagon, especially since the end result was very mixed. I hear good things about Sekiro but I have yet to play it for myself.

huh, ds1 reins king and ER will be #2
Video games peaked here, I doubt anything can be developed with this much passion in the current industry.
Ds1 is definitely the undisputed king of the franchise but I don't think ER even comes close, it's more akin to Ds2 in quality. A solid game compared to the average AAA trash but still held back by severe flaws.
bloodborne cultist be like:
wow my game is so good and memorable bosses such as ludwig, laurence, maria and orphan and the guy who awoos and germany
I literally haven't even played bloodborne and I still say that it's the best souls game ever. I've played all the others. I will not play it until I can do so in 60FPS. Even if I have to wait 20+ years. It's a crime that a game like this is locked behind a dumpster console that can't even run it.
It's not the same. At least ER tried something different, DaS2 is just a downgrade from DaS1
>I literally haven't even played bloodborne and I still say that it's the best souls game ever
average bloodborne fan, everyone
Fair enough.
ER is DS3 but better
Not reuse half of their shit from Dark souls.
I just finished replaying it for the first time since release and it's not as good as I remember. Very short, barely any bosses, and the main stories presentation sucks. Obviously rushed put by the B team while the A team worked on DS3.
bloodborne is trash
specifically the old hunters, from shot themselves in the foot by making the single greatest slice of action rpg ever. insurmountable
If I could filter out certain sections of ER it could be on par with DS3. But unfortunately it has really low lows. It was simply too focused on making a big open world that it became quantity over quality.
I love how there's a misplaced statue floating in the sky of old yharnam and it still hasn't been patched to this day
Second half of DS1 is too bad for the game to actually be considered the undisputed king of the franchise.
>inb4 it wasn't that bad and only Bed of Chaos was the problem
No, fuck off. The Four Kings, Lost Izalith as whole, Tomb of the Giants, Nito, and Seath were all terrible. Even Gwyn was an underwhelming fight compared to what came before, and no amount of Plin Plin Plon will save it.
soul
I literally started playing BB as of yesterday. Im about 2 hours in.
As with every first run of every souls game, I intend to run a quality build.
Which early weapon should I aim for?
Currently using saw cleaver.
ludwigs holy blade is the king of quality
Well their shit of out luck now since Japan Studio closed. They were the reason any of the souls games were good.
>Tomb of the Giants, Nito
I never got the problem with it. Neither did I with New Londo. Both are great.
>low lows
the section from farron swamp up to irithyll is the worst in any of the games
DS1 isn't exactly praised for being a flawless game.
Also, the only objectively shit parts of the second half were Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith/Bed of Chaos and the Tomb of giants. The Duke Archives/Cristal Cave and New Londo were all great, although I won’t deny that bossfights were a bit underwhelming, especially after the first balance patches that made the second half easy as shit.
nah. the whole of Dark Souls 2 is still worse.
ds3 is a boss rush game to me, if you're exploring the areas you're doing it wrong.
That comes with open world. ER is mostly filler like most open world games. Its still insane how good it can be when you get to the actual souls content inbetween all the filler.
Saw Cleaver is one of the easiest and strongest weapons to use, it can carry you through the entire game. That said Saw Spear has better trick attacks, slightly more group focused.
>fan favorite
acting like consensus means anything kek
They have to stop copy/pasting dark souls shit. It's fucking boring.
>the only objectively shit parts of the second half were Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith/Bed of Chaos and the Tomb of giants
New Londo had a cool atmosphere, but the design wasn't good, and the Four Kings were just the icing on the turd cake. I'll admit, I enjoyed the Duke Archives, but Seath's fight is boring and piss easy. Which is another problem I have with the game. The second half lacks a proper challenge. For a game that's supposedly renowned for it's difficulty, it quickly becomes a cakewalk after Anor Londo.
I dont really use the trick version of the saw cleaver nor transform attacks.
Am I playing the game wrong?
>the Tomb of giants
what's wrong with the tomb of giants?
>Central Yharnam - Gascoigne - Cleric Beast
Fantastic
>Cathedral Ward - Amelia
Fantastic
>Old Yharnam - Blood Starved Beast
Great
>Forbidden Woods - Shadows of Yharnam
Good
>Byrgenwerth - Rom
Disastrous
>Yahar'gul - The One Reborn - Darkbeast Paarl
Paarl is the one saving grace for an area that is among the souls franchise's very worst
>Lecture Building
Eh, should have been attached to the main game world. Otherwise innofensive.
>Nightmare Frontier - Amygdala
Dull, pointless, with a pushover boss
>Nightmare of Mensis - Micolash - Mergo's Wet Nurse
Thoroughly mediocre and often extremely tedious
>Hemwick Charnel Lane - Witches of Hemwick
Refreshing level design, but an utterly worthless boss
>Castle Cainhurst - Martyr Logarius
Classic aesthetic, but painfully underutilised and full of tedious enemies. The run back to Logarius is arduous as well.
>Upper Cathedral Ward
Completely and utterly wasted potential. Shit essentially. Ebrietas is great, but so disconnected from the area it's almost not worth mentioning.
>Hunter's Dream
Only here for the sake of the bosses, but they're both pretty good. One mechanics-wise, and the other thematically/visually.
>Chalices
Garbage
Bloodborne is a game so ridiculously frontloaded in content quality, that I sincerely believe the only people rating it as best haven't even completed it, much less any of the other games.
Yes, but you do you.
yes. holy shit
the transition attacks between modes are some of the strongest attacks in the game both actual damage wise but more importantly how they stagger enemies
try them at least please
Sony please bloodborne on pc.Im begging im crying please give it to ME now!!!
even the areas you claim are bad are still better than "good" areas in other souls games. I don't see the problem here. Bad for BB is apparently still better than other souls areas
Upper cathedral ward has more atmosphere than the entire dark sousl series put together and you count as a bad area.
>Bloodborne is a game so ridiculously frontloaded in content quality, that I sincerely believe the only people rating it as best haven't even completed it, much less any of the other games.
Reply 1 to this post if you want bloodborne on pc (60fps!!!!)
>i want it!!!
Im a simpleton, I just like easy combat.
Spam R1, parry, viscerals. maybe a charged R2 if the enemy is unaware of my presence, but thats all.
It's not really a problem since it's the shortest game.
inb4peeceenerdsthrowatantr-
Never mind.
i played through the entire game with the beginning axe and just 2handed it the whole time. never changed weapons, never shot my gun, rolled the game easily
>bloodborne best souls btw haha
That is fine. I just want you to try them on enemies
NEVER EVER, P C U CK
>Upper cathedral ward
Is two rooms and poorly reused enemies
Try looking at it without your fanboy lens
what fanboy lense? I hate that this stupid game is locked on a shitty console. That is the most objective flaw
it still has an amazing atmosphere there
Upper Cathedral ward is one of the best areas in the series. And if people who don't like bloodborne think it is bad then I feel even more justified to ignore you. I bet you hate maiden astrea as well.
Oh I actually like shooting people in the face and leaving them open for a visceral attack, its somehow more pleasant than Dark Souls parries.
European parry vs American parry
>New Londo had a cool atmosphere, but the design wasn't good, and the Four Kings were just the icing on the turd cake. I'll admit, I enjoyed the Duke Archives, but Seath's fight is boring and piss easy.
For me New Londo was a great experience, different opinions I guess. Nito/Seath/4kangs fights were just “meh”, but I wouldn’t call them shit.
>Which is another problem I have with the game. The second half lacks a proper challenge. For a game that's supposedly renowned for it's difficulty, it quickly becomes a cakewalk after Anor Londo.
As I said, I blame the game balance patches. On the early PS3/Xbox360 versions you didn't get as many souls and couldn’t cheese the second half.
While I defend DS1 difficulty, the Tomb of Giants was a fucking mess. The skeletons beasts are by far the most unfair enemy in the game and can easily reck your ass on a 1vs1. I wouldn’t have a problem if you could fight them on normal conditions (like the black knights), but you fight them in packs and complete darkness.
it just felt pointless to me, i never felt like i had to do it or like it added anything to my playstyle
in fact it hindered it and basically just wasted my time every time i tried
what does fromsoftware have to do at this point?
They make Sekiro, which is the actual fan favorite and manages to send the average From tranny into a frothing rage whenever they see it getting praised because they know how hard their preferred game got mogged.
english only please
>to send the average From tranny into a frothing rage whenever they see it getting praised because they know how hard their preferred game got mogged.
But I am a fromtranny and I fucking love Sekiro
that is the defining part of being a fromtranny.
I use the derogatory "From tranny" to explicitly refer to the subset of fans who prefer the games to have the same stagnate ps2-era combat system every single game so long as it has a semblance of RPG mechanics like "builds" and they actively recoil against games like Sekiro which make meaningful improvements just because these elements aren't present.
It sounds outlandish, but I have personally encountered these subhumans. They do exist.
