You can install unofficial drivers for them that trick your PC into thinking they're XBOX controllers, but they aren't plug&play.
That said I used a Dualshock 3 as my primary desktop controller for ten years, so yes.

Yes.

making an emulation machine wat controller do u recommend

the better question is, how do I trick my old xbox 360 into thinking my shitty bootleg dualshock is actually an xbox controller? i don't want to buy a new one

I use Linux. PS3 controllers are plug and play on Linux. Wintoddlers BTFO.

Everything works with enough willpower. I use a ps4 controller on my switch

I still use ps2 controller with adapter

the thing will never die.

That lock would keep the lolis in so I don't see the problem.

cope
winblows is gay

if you want to keep lolis in just make the lock higher so they cant reach it

at least use a gentoo meme or something this one hasn't been true for at least 3 years.

They grow.

then they arent lolis and should be tossed into the bin

Ds3hidmini or something, check out pcwiki regarding this
On that note, any anons recommend 8bitdo pro 2 controller? Seems like some people are liking that in several controller thread I've seen. Been thinking to swap out my old ds3 with either that or ds4/da5

kinda of, mine keeps connecting and disconnecting without stopping

pcgamer.com/ps3-controller-on-pc-guide/

A thread died for this.

I install drivers and tick the 'boot on startup' checkbox. There, it is now plug n play.

I have it, the dualsense, and the xbox sx controller.

I recoomend the pro 2 controller but ONLY because it's easy to pair with PC. Dualsense fucking sucks with pc even with ds4windows and the xbox controller aside from the triggers is horrid.

Except in this case it's Windows where you need to use complex and time consuming methods to accomplish a simple task.

If you have steam its plug and play.

>complex
Of course, how silly of me. I never considered going through the setup wizard could be so challenging for some folk.

Considering people think Linux is challenging, the bar is pretty low.

github.com/ViGEm/DsHidMini

Yeah but the LEDs won't stop flashing.

>ScPToolkit
Why do people still use this shit? It's old, deprecated, doesn't have the controller work fully, needs a dedicated Bluetooth dongle, and is annoying with the notifications.
Use DsHidMini. It's by the same developer, easier to install and makes the controller plug and play with the ability to see it as ds3 (with sixaxis and pressure sensitive buttons), ds4 or xbox pad.

>setup wizard
There's more to it actually
>Have to make an Microsoft account to even use your os
>Have to deal with automatic updates that make you halt everything you do on a computer
>Have to deal with bloatware running 24/7 that take up half of cpu and ram power
>Have to deal with a shitty spyware antivirus
>Soon ads will appear in a file explorer
And you call yourself an simpler and better solution to linux? Kill yourself you retard.

>checks for updates every morning
>doesn't fucking tell us that there's a better version available
I am unfathomably pissed right now.

xbox wireless, sony dualshock 4 or logitech f310

Why would you use an inferior controller willingly?

You can even use the pressure sensitive face buttons on emulators, you absolutely don’t need to use xinput but you do need to download drivers for it

thanks to steam, yes.
>borrowing extended demos from a mutual friend of ours
>it doesnt have controller support
>ds4 windows acting up
>make a shortcut through steam
>force controller in shortcut options
>it works
but usually ds4w works good enough.
elden ring was a recent exception cause fromsoft are hack developers

Or just a fucking DS4 or Xbox controller you stupid faggot, I can't for the life of me believe why you stupid cunts turn something that's as easy as buying a compatible controller into "how do I get muh DS3 working on PC hur durrrrrr"
For fucks sake you cunts are pathetic...

DS3 has better sticks and some features those controllers don't have which are desirable when emulating some ps2 games

DS3 is pretty nice for RPC3 since you get 1:1 features that way.

It's a trash controller with the worst triggers ever concieved.

>want to install a niche program on linux
>spend the next five hours going down a rabbit hole of libraries, tweaked settings, and drivers only for the program to not work for an inexplicable reason

its a pain in the ass. just get a recent controller that works immediately.

>have to make a microsoft account
false
>automatic updates
never happens
>have to deal with bloatware running 24/7
You can uninstall bloatware and unused ram is wasted ram
>have to deal with a shitty spyware antivirus
or just have common sense
>soon ads will appear in a file explorer
and someone will find a way to bypass it within twenty minutes of ads being pushed out

NO
We must go down a rabbit hole for 5 hours and not get anything working because of some obscure chip set or driver you may or may not need. Autism is amazing

This post was created using GPT-3

>Have to make an Microsoft account to even use your os
>Have to deal with bloatware running 24/7 that take up half of cpu and ram power
>Have to deal with a shitty spyware antivirus
>Soon ads will appear in a file explorer
None of these are true and I believe automatic updates can be disabled

if it takes you 5 hours to get a DS3 working on your computer you might be genuinely retarded

That's nice. Now I'll just be over here plugging in my ps4 controller and achieving the same effect.

>left stick of my decade old ds3 is finally starting to die
>it's impossible to get a new ds3 anymore
>all modern controllers are shit

I think if you go too long without updating w10 forces you to update, but I'm not sure why you'd ever use an OS without keeping it at least somewhat uo to date so..

DS4Windows lets a DualShock 3/4 be used as a native DualShock, generic, or Xbox controller on PC.
Some games have built-in DualShock 3/4 support, and don't require additional software.
Steam has a DualShock 3/4 driver that it uses in Big Picture, which applies to any Steam game.

DS4Windows also has a bunch of other bells and whistles, such as wildly arbitrary rebinding, full control of DS4 LEDs, etc.

Yes, they work on PC.

Yes, use Dshidmini.

>Soon ads will appear in a file explorer
I have no idea what shitbrain blue badge thought ads in Explorer would be a good idea. Upside is that beta leak gave them constructive feedback: "MS go fuck yourself". That shit isn't going to be in Windows anytime soon.

Except we're talking a kernel included driver.
You'd literally have to remove it just to have something to complain about.

Then how do you permanently remove windows defender without downloading some shady third party software?

Yes, and PS4 controllers too.
just install this
sourceforge.net/projects/scptoolkit.mirror/

>Dshidmini
You won't get rumble in windows store games.

What games use pressure sensitive buttons besides MGS3 and Gran Turismo?

My friend gave me a whole box of his sons old PS3 shit, console and 3 controllers along with two PS2 controllers.

only with 3rd party drivers. The DS4 has native support though.

Wipeout HD

>still recommending scptoolkit
Just stop.
You should be able to? You can set it to emulate as an xbox controller which should pass rumble correctly.

Damn, nice. I plan on trying the shops with used PS3 controlelrs and test them on PC to see the condition of sticks. It's fucking annoying how hard it can be to identify the original controllers vs chinese replicas.
