Which ones? Bomberman and it's highly successful spin off Bombergirl is still going strong. Yu-Gi-Oh is going strong, their other arcade games are going strong. They have had a game in the top 30 Famitsu charts for over two years that has never dropped out of the top 30 something Sony can't claim has ever happened to their first parties.
They don't care about or cater to the west anymore and are better for it.

With Bungie they burrowed more then needed to ensure software engineers were kept, they may do the same again. But likely 5B is a rough number.

None of this shit actually matters for the end-user. What we're seeing is the corporate equivalent of a nuclear arms race. So far, all these gobbled-up companies are continuing to release games multiplat, keeping the status quo. But if one side decides to start pulling that and forcing major subsidiaries to make exclusives instead, then the other side will follow suite. Then instead of all platforms having all games, each platform has fewer and everyone loses overall. Mutually assured destruction.
