Her questline is literally impossible without a guide

This questline is a convoluted mess
>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
>Later, the questline sends you to Nokron but the game fails to give you instructions for WHERE Nokron is
>Further on, Ranni gives you a key and tells you she's leaving. She does not tell you WHERE to use the key
>By now a random tower nearby unlocks, you need to go through it to progress it. The game does not tell you this. To add insult to the injury, you sometimes have to wait at a grace before the tower unlocks
>As you progress through the dungeon, you'll find a Ranni doll. If you don't sit at the EXACT grace where you found it and talk to her 4 times then the questline will not progress. The game does not tell you this. A player going in blind wouldn't even KNOW to rest at that specific bonfire to the unlock the dialogue.
>You then have to backtrack to the fucking magic academy and go to the chest behind the boss to unlock it. The game does not tell you this
>The quest then takes you to the Lake of Rot. If you do not have high vigor and a lot of estus flask then the river is literally impossible to cross without dying. You'll have to leave the dungeon, go to an obscure bandit encampment, and pick up the spell "Flame. Cleanse Me" to progress. The game does not tell you this.
>After clearing Astel, you are taken back to the Mage Academy outskirts. You have to go to the church and then leap down the hole to find Ranni. The. Game. Does. Not. Tell. You. This

This is objectively bad gameplay design and an exercise in frustration.

it's the most signposted and guided sidequest in the game

I found her quest just fine thanks to Rogier and Fia. Do you not talk to NPCs regularly or something?

Why can't the quest design be more like Horizon, the game that BRUTALLY mogs Elden Ring?

How many of these threads do you plan on making Tomcluck?
When is Pigcunt going to stop posting hasbrin hotel and post more other strong independent women?

Take it to twitter.

>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
No you don't
Stopped reading right there

You are stupid.

>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
What the fuck are you even talking about?

No one can be this retarded, right? This is just bait?

Because Horizon is social justice trash promoted and defended by obese ugly women that call it misogyny when you don't like the game. So i guess that's half the world considering it didn't even break half a million copies.

her quest is literally the only straightforward quest in the game

Most likely the wall right before Iji, but it's so obvious you have to hit it.

Tomcluck. This is a shitpost. Stop making the bait threads.

You do. Her castle is hidden behind an invisible wall
Not an argument

The only bullshit is sitting at the grace after finding the doll, other npc's literally prove most of your points wrong by exactly telling you these things

>Do you not talk to NPCs regularly or something?
Did they mention Ranni's location?

Of course not. Tom doesn't do arguments. Just lies and contradictions.

Rogier literally points you to her

concern trolling OP

>Carian Manor
>Hidden
okay buddy

Who the fuck is Tom?

>type a/type b
>locked body sliders

Yes

as does Iji via the usual "Oh no, that mansion oh no, such a death trap! Definitely do not go near this mansion wink wink nudge nudge!". And in fact, by extension then so does Blaidd, because he leads you to him. And then so does Kalé for leading you to Blaidd...
I did Rannis quest blind by the way. My first playthrough was blind.

Absolutely dude, fucking absolutely. And when your lost multiple of the npc's will just tell you where to go

You are dumb.

Yes, the only thing I got lost on was that original grace site by her doll since it's natural to just progress past it after getting the doll

Depends what account hes on or when he lets his obese girlfriend on it.
Promoter of projects, hypocrites of the highest order.

I find it funny that the HZD developers flipped out when the game got destroyed. Hilarious. the review scores were fake just like all the paid hands to stream it.

can't you talk to the doll at any grace along the path before the one where the Shadow shows up?

I would genuinely call this the only obscure part in the quest line, and there would be an easy way to fix it too: Just have the Baleful Shadow spawn no matter what, and if you haven't talked to Mini Ranni before, or haven't picked her up, she will just start talking to you upon defeating the Baleful Shadow while she is in your possession, or upon picking her up after the shadow is dead, giving you the key to the chest.

Yes, I didn't notice the prompt to talk to her until the grace just before the shadow.

>duhhh the game doesn't tell me where to use the keys
it literally does. try reading the item descriptions retard

>I found her quest just fine thanks to Rogier and Fia.
Also Blaidd, Seluvis, and Sellen

I think maybe but I genuinely didn't rest or notice for a while, I don't really rest at grace sites often unless I'm leveling up, I often just die or progress past till I get to a boss

This, I passed all the way to Astel and finally consulted a guide. Just let the shadow pop up for me in that room. Otherwise one of the most intuitive questlines

>>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
bait, not even gonna bother reading the rest

I haven't gotten that far yet but that does sound fucky. Yeesh.
But then again, many quests in souls games have always been like that. Its like they make most of their money selling strategy guides or something.

idk man, I did it without a guide. Maybe you just suck at remembering things

>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere

I have no idea what you're talking about.

>Later, the questline sends you to Nokron but the game fails to give you instructions for WHERE Nokron is

Admittedly, it's not immediately clear where the star lands after Radahn.

>By now a random tower nearby unlocks, you need to go through it to progress it. The game does not tell you this. To add insult to the injury, you sometimes have to wait at a grace before the tower unlocks

Technically Iji will point you to Renna's Rise at that point if you're paying attention.

Seeing the option to talk to her should make you suspicious.

>You then have to backtrack to the fucking magic academy and go to the chest behind the boss to unlock it

The key literally tells you where the chest is and if you beat Astel without getting the ring, there'll be a barrier telling you to go and get ring first.

>The quest then takes you to the Lake of Rot. If you do not have high vigor and a lot of estus flask then the river is literally impossible to cross without dying.

You really don't have to take much damage if you raise the platforms and have a few preserving boluses. Flame Cleanse Me is not necessary at all.

>After clearing Astel, you are taken back to the Mage Academy outskirts. You have to go to the church and then leap down the hole to find Ranni. The. Game. Does. Not. Tell. You. This

That's just a matter of exploring the area a bit.

It annoyed me that Blaidd said he would meet me at the meteor site, but he is actually at the area you first meet him. And then he says to go on without him, but you dont know where he went and there is no reason to explore Nokrom without him. I explored Nokrom thinking he would eventually show up, but no he was locked up in that evergael. It is so weird.

No, you just have to find Ranni after passing through Caria Manor which is a giant landmark.
No, you are told where the meteor landed and Blaidd tells you all about Nokron.
The key's description tells you what it is.
You should have been curious about the LOCKED tower when you started the quest.
The doll is literally RIGHT there and stands out as an option to talk, pay attention.
You were told by the key to get the chest. You should have seen the chest anyways, since this is post-academy content.
Or you just craft boluses or flame cleanse me retard
You can also easily pass it on just a few estus if you unlock all the islands and use one (1) bolus
So what, explore the area, dipshit
Its literally an incredibly obvious cave

>but he is actually at the area you first meet him. And then he says to go on without him
But he's not there, it's a message, and it isn't even his but Iji's

who cares, in my next playthrough I'm killing the bitch as soon as I can

>>Further on, Ranni gives you a key and tells you she's leaving. She does not tell you WHERE to use the key
the key literally says where the chest is
>>As you progress through the dungeon, you'll find a Ranni doll. If you don't sit at the EXACT grace where you found it and talk to her 4 times then the questline will not progress. The game does not tell you this. A player going in blind wouldn't even KNOW to rest at that specific bonfire to the unlock the dialogue.
As I am not an idiot I sat there to refill my shit upon entering a new zone, when I saw the dialogue for ranni I knew the doll was going to be important so I spammed it until something happened
The game does not tell you this.
but there are outcroppings for you to rest on with buttons that create more outcroppings

Right, but my point is nothing indicated to meet him there. That would be like me saying 'lets meet at McDonalds' and I am actually waiting for you inside the store next door. And then I tell you to go on without me, so I go to the shopping mall neraby and never show up. I get its part of the storyline, yeah. It could have been better executed to avoid any potential confusion by having the projection be a lot closer to the meteor site at the very least.

>you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
It's one of the most obvious illusionary walls in the game if you actually looked at the map you picked up 5 seconds before encountering it. If you're observant, you can literally just jump around the wall with torrent.

>Later, the questline sends you to Nokron but the game fails to give you instructions for WHERE Nokron is
Sellen tells you the path to Nokron is blocked by Radahn controlling the stars. If you skip that part of the quest, Blaidd literally tells you before the fight with radahn. After the fight he tells you a passage is open in mistwood, where giant fucking rocks hovering in the sky can be seen from almost anywhere in fucking limgrave.

>Ranni gives you a key and tells you she's leaving. She does not tell you WHERE to use the key
If you read the description of the key and rub 2 brain cells together you should be able to figure it out, especially since there is only 1 locked chest in the entire game and it's in Queen Rannala's chamber.

>a random tower nearby unlocks, you need to go through it to progress it. The game does not tell you this
Iji literally tells you where to go after Ranni leaves.

>you'll find a Ranni doll. If you don't sit at the EXACT grace where you found it and talk to her 4 times then the questline will not progress
3 times, retard

>The quest then takes you to the Lake of Rot. If you do not have high vigor and a lot of estus flask then the river is literally impossible to cross without dying. You'll have to leave the dungeon
The rot does percentage based damage. There are platforms you can raise to avoid rot if you skip the optional parts of the lake. You should have at least 7 estus at that point and a few blossoms anyway.

>You have to go to the church and then leap down the hole to find Ranni. The. Game. Does. Not. Tell. You. This
You mean the giant hole the game guides you to with a million starlight shards scattered all over the church floor?

Ah, yes
Reminder that Ranni:
>stole the Rune of Death
>personally killed Godwyn
>killed Iji and Blaidd
>is the leader of the Black Knife Assassins
>is the Gloam-Eyed/Dusk-Eyed Queen, leader of the Godskin Apostles
>is the Lord of the Eternal Cities
>raped Seluvis
>cursed Radagon
>forced Radagon to cuck her mother into insanity
>manipulated Marika into shattering the Elden Ring
>gave Radahn aids
>made Caelid uninhabitable
>taught Malenia the waterfowl dance
>kidnapped Miquella and gave him to Mohg
>is actually the Formless Mother
>is responsible for the Omens
>is responsible for the Valiant Gargoyles fight
>created the Misbegotten
>taught Godrick the secrets of grafting
>convinced Fia to cuck you for Godwyn
>created the Primeval Current
>is leader of the Fire Monks
>enslaved Hewg
>blinded Irina
>killed a bunch of academy mages and blamed it on Sellen
>turned Sellen into a meatball
>killed Thops
>killed Rogier
>killed Latenna's wolf companion
>ordered the massacre on the Albinauric Village
>sent the poachers to Jarburg
>convinced Alexander to fight you
>murdered 6 million merchants in the gas chambers under Leyndell
>summoned the Frenzied Flame
>caused Vyke to go insane
>got Shabriri to kill and possess Yura
>because of Farum Azula's time shenanigans, Ranni has existed since long before Marika or the Erdtree
>was Placidusax's consort
>killed the Dragon God
>started the war with the dragons
>started the war with the giants
>killed the Fell God of Flame
>called Astel from the void to destroy one of the Eternal Cities
>has the most difficult and convoluted NPC questline to date, LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE without a guide detailing each step
>enslaves humanity to the evil Dark Moon God in her ending
>doesn't actually like you, you're just a pawn in her bid for power
>convinced Miyazaki on the Elden Beast fight
>cut Melina's dialogue lines from the game when the devs weren't looking so she could steal the heroine spot
>called Boc ugly
Gotta stop the doll

>>By now a random tower nearby unlocks, you need to go through it to progress it. The game does not tell you this. To add insult to the injury, you sometimes have to wait at a grace before the tower unlocks
what does he mean by this? I'm confused? Is the doll in the inverted tower?

the tower that transport you to astel's dungeon, renna's rise

Renna's rise unlocks after Ranni leaves. The doll is literally unmissable. It's right in your face after taking the teleporter.

Her quest is literally the only one you can complete without a guide. Shit like Shabiri is where From shits the bed.

>>To start the quest, you need to hit a fucking invisible wall in the middle of nowhere
you can jump around it.
>>Later, the questline sends you to Nokron but the game fails to give you instructions for WHERE Nokron is
thats the mystery, and it is easily solved by going to the huge debris floating in the ground that can be seen rom a 100 milesaway
>>By now a random tower nearby unlocks
wrong. you can get there by continuing through the underground.
>>The game does not tell you this
wrong. the giant tells you where ranni went.
>>As you progress through the dungeon, you'll find a Ranni doll. If you don't sit at the EXACT grace where you found it and talk to her 4 times then the questline will not progress. The game does not tell you this. A player going in blind wouldn't even KNOW to rest at that specific bonfire to the unlock the dialogue.
true but then i watch streamers and some of them did find this.
>>You then have to backtrack to the fucking magic academy and go to the chest behind the boss to unlock it. The game does not tell you this
wrong again. its in the item description of the key
>>The quest then takes you to the Lake of Rot. If you do not have high vigor
wrong again. high resistances is more important than vigor. you can spam the rot cure spell if you have it. or boluses.
>>After clearing Astel, you are taken back to the Mage Academy outskirts. You have to go to the church and then leap down the hole to find Ranni. The. Game. Does. Not. Tell. You. This
i found this blind just by exploring.

You are wrong. wrong, wrong and wrong again and again. The ironic part? If you dont talk to ranni before exploring the underground her doll wont be down there and you will have to backtrack to find it and if you do that then you would have no reason to rest at the grace at all so it would be easily missable. So you were right, but its somthing yo uwould only know if you didnt use a guide.

>Later, the questline sends you to Nokron but the game fails to give you instructions for WHERE Nokron is

>Admittedly, it's not immediately clear where the star lands after Radahn.

I'll actually say the floating rocks that get kicked up is massive in size. You can see it from across the map, but you actually have to be looking past a cliffside towards Limgrave to see it unfortunately. So it's a bit of both unclear and insanely so. I already did the quest twice, saw some random rocks floating while I was in Altus one day and thought there was some separate farum azula thing going on, went to it, and found out it was the Nekron entrance again. They're pretty high up.

the only confusing thing was finding information about nokron, and then blaidd just fucking off after radahn

op is a faggot. I have another issue here and that is the way you accept the quest itself.
>do you wanna serve me
>yes no
>if I do accept am I getting locked out of something else?
>you wont know so fuck you

>>killed Iji and Blaidd
wrong. i dont even agree with people who say she killed selvis.
I stopped reading there btw.

the tower lets you skip an area and a boss and go directly to ranni. You find the tower by talking to Iji the giant. He used a guie and thinks its an essential part of the quest but its just a shortcut.

>>raped seluvis
Dissert.

It's a joke retard

>skip an area
????

Ignoring the obvious shit like Blaidd explicitly telling you where Nokron is, I keep seeing the Lake of Rot thing brought up. Do people not know about the switch-activated platforms that span the entire lake?

I missed out on the Volcano Manor stuff this way, they made it sound like they were a whole other faction planning a coup, I didn't want to get locked in with them.

>He didn't find the coffin
lmao@u

I did though. I went in the coffin and cleared the entire area with the giant ants, the crucible knights, the giant walking tree where you can dupe remembrances etc.

Don't act like that huge conspicuous wall in the middle of the path through the ruins didn't invite you to hit it

There's another coffin at the edge of the water near the grace there that takes you down the waterfall right next to the Ranni doll

Damn, I must be blind because I missed that one. The one I got in took me up the waterfall

Even without it you can get across with some tears and scarlet rot healing items. Like if you have to deal with a lake of rot, then... deal with it?

I beat the quest two days after release, when there was literally no guide, they tell you where to go. I'll admit that finding Blaidd at various points was actually stupid bs, but not that hard in comparison to the other quests like Millicent or any other one.

But for real why don't we get quest markers like in the Assassination quests? Realistically I would ask the NPC to mark the damn location for me. Also game has 0 menu to keep ur progress/conversations noted. You won't get lost but it takes more time and 0 sense.

Attached: HHmmm.png (567x591, 380.01K)

That wall doesn't even cover the entire route, you can just go around it. IIRC the right side has a bunch of wolves guarding an exit arch, and the left side is just a clear unblocked path along the outside of the ruins.
