yeah I run into that issue with those EAS videos a lot and you have a point, it's not just spelling but also grammar. It's not like when you have clear instances of garbled spelling or something because say someones mind is deteriorating but instead you realize that some 14 year old didn't bother spell checking. I used to love the old days of creepypasta writers on /x/ almost 2 decades ago at this point and if someone was writing with unnatural grammar I just couldn't get immersed in the story while I can get into a questionable story if you just clean up the presentation on the other hand.

I've run into a few, I'm looking for one from a while back that had pretty good production to it that involved a good number of news and television broadcasts. I think people just need to remember that for suspension of disbelief to work the little things count a lot. you don't have to get every single detail right and most people who aren't going out of their way to antagonize get that, but clean things up a little and people will forgive that your monster looks goofy if you pause the video or that the premise doesn't count on logic.

Ah true that, from what i've seen people are too focused on the upfront anomaly and storyline when really they should aim more for a snippet of a larger picture. I say these popular videos you see discussed these days got their start from just acting like the first installment is the out of context middle-section of a big problem and going from there, enough intrigue to bring attention in without blowing your load all in one video, so to speak

Yeah come to think of it, the first SCP was a pretty good example of something like that even if it's analog horror. You got a peanut sculpture thing with a tendency to kill things violently, it's called SCP-173 so you got the implication that there's at least up to 200-ish other weirdos like it, and an acronym to imply that something is going around and cataloging these things.
