I've seen some bits of this game, but I don't get it. Is it like a battle royale or something? It's apparently pvp and you are on a map with other teams, but I didn't see any actual pvp action and everyone was just killing NPCs

friend of mine built a powerful PC but only plays things like this and battlefield twice a week

It's in an odd spot where it filters out zoomers because it's not a movement shooter where you're autistically spamming buttons with 100% action uptime, but it also filters out tarkov and other mil-sim shitters because it requires far more mechanical skill due to the slow-firing, pinpoint accurate weapons with limited ammo pools instead of fully automatics with 60 round drum mags.

idk if you've gone out hunting with your uncle or some shit like that, but that's basically this game.
except there's other hunters.

It's not a wallhack, it gives you a vague representation of a person's general location, you only get 5 seconds of it and you can't do anything other than look around while using it. The purpose of it was as an anti-camping measure and it's use is almost completely defensive.

Love it but it's annoying that I have to boost the volume past 100% to hear someone crouch walking 50m away and get my ears blown out by monsters.

that's one way, but there's no 'win' condition in this game.
you go in, and then you go out, but with whatever you 'won' - meaning you can extract from the map with nothing in tow and still call it a 'win' because you survived lol

that being said, the most efficient and metafag way to 'win' or 'win fast' in this game is to let others do the hunting and camp their exits and kill them as they try extract.
sometimes what happens is everyone does this shit and nobody does the hunting so everyone's just in a retarded standoff

It's even vaguer in quickplay I think, you can maybe use it to wallbang someone in bounty hunt if they're completely stationary.

That's by far the least efficient way, most of the time if I see fags like this I'll just around and go for another extract, by the time they notice the distance between us will be great enough that they can't catch up. Only time you can do something is if you luck out and all of the extracts spawn in one corner of the map, which almost never happens anymore.

The most efficient method by far is to wipe the match before a bounty is even picked up. Obviously not possible every time because boss spawns aren't static but generally you should be focusing on getting clues and killing the boss so you can just draw everyone to you.

they are dumping too much good stuff into an online game. should've made it a single player to compete with red dead and offer the online as a side thing of it's own.
God knows we need actual weird west games instead of weird west itself.

I would play it more if the spawns were closer so you weren't give the short end of the stick where you do nothing but hold w + shift for 10 minutes until you get to the compound.

this game bullet penetration mechanics and building designs is fucking great

I love hitting side to side barns just to land a headshot from pure sheer luck

Shit gunplay

I'm not huge into it but I like the enemy AI inbetween gunfights, feels much better than typical battle royales. Really pissed right now because the even xp booster is going to waste since I coduld only do one more match and it's the one I just barely got enough even points for the booster which activates automatically.
