Because guns aren't condusive to the anime formula. People have to be jumping 20 feet in their and and screaming while flailing their arms to hold the typical weebs attention. Even fucking Gundam shows are guilty of this and guns are virtually useless 99% of the time.

Speaking of that Valkyria does have you know the actual Valkyria, I don't mind it too much but have definitely seen people voice their displeasure at those segments.
I thought Valkyria Chronicles did ok at least to get 4 games + a very questionable spin off and thats under Sega's retardation, 2 of them were on the PSP.

Yeah, that's the only issue I have with VC. The gameplay is really solid, the turn based - real time bit is great, but rankings based purely on turns is a bit of a shit. I'd also like characters to have just a bit more ability variety, but that's just me.

They do look nice, I think one worry from the Beta was how you couldn't really auto it or something? So the reverse complaints, but I didn't play it.
I think it would help if enemies had potentials, bit like if you play Fire Emblem your own crew aren't the only grunts who can pull some special dumb shit out of their ass, so you'd have to watch out for that.
Its too bad for that game you either cry about it being insanely difficult online like many before or quickly find out all you need to be doing for the entire game is forming triangles with machine gun damage first, it never really expands or challenges you more than that.
