I think it's the desktop icons that throw it off for me. If I'm looking at just the browser window then I agree.

I guess they're retconning the epilogue, at least a bit. I don't mind too much, there might be an in-game explanation or it might just be an alternate reality like others said.

Looks like this is a different company, Somnius. I expect there will be some history to read in game about how this reality diverged from Hypnospace. My prediction is that Merchantsoft got bought out before shit could go down.
