More like we added some shit you don't need. Also Kojima had complete freedom, why does he act like they didn't let him do something.
Paid $7 for the upgrade. Finished mama's mission before moving to it. I'll start playing again
unironically enjoyed playing this, will probably pick up the director's cut soon
I'm going to wait until I platinum the original before I upgrade: I don't trust myself not to use the easy mode additions. I still want to do racetrack things and the Shadow Moses stuff though
Did they add an MP3 player for walking yet?
How's this game so cozy bros?
Fun is what you have along the trails blazed, Porter.
Depressed schizo here, will I enjoy this game?
Death Stranding was already fun.
>More like we added some shit you don't need
This.
>Also Kojima had complete freedom, why does he act like they didn't let him do something.
Because it's painfully obvious that even Snoy got cold feet in the end, and nerfed the fuck out of some of the darker ideas planned for the game. This is why it occasionally feels like two different games jammed into one disc; the publisher overlords tried to make it a tiny bit more normalfag-friendly.
No
Getting to hear a song once every 8 hours and getting it cut off after 40 seconds of playing since you walked into mule/bt area is part of Kojima’s vision, user
If you enjoy calm exploration and idea of making the grim world a bit happier place for everyone, then yes.
weird hangups that weren't in original
bs
if Sony is to blame, then why does the director's cut add fuck all?
to me it's pretty obvious that they reused a lot of assets/ideas from their SH game. we wouldn't know the difference of course since no info was ever released about it.
except that would get them sued, any Silent Hills assets would be owned by Konami and they'd know if any of it was re-used.
Is it a movie game?
Death Stranding has me wanting to finally get back into backpacking after like five years. A few weeks on the continental divide trail will probably do some good.
Because even Kojima was against the whole "Director's Cut" naming thing, which again implies there being some push to turn DS into even bigger cash-cow, rather than expanding the lore and gameplay.
No. You can play the game for week(s) without seeing a single cutscene.
It does however front- and end-load its cinematics.
It's just marketing. Ghost of Tsushima's next gen rerelease was named the same way. Bold strategy of Sony to lean in even harder to the movie game shit.
The truth behind Death Stranding is that Sony don't like Kojima. He's terrible to work with. So they forced him to release Death Stranding with zero room for delays. The game had just over a year of actual work done on it. That's why the open world is so... devoid of interesting content. The Director's Cut thing was contractual. Sony want to make more money off this game.
Currently, Kojima is working on a small VR title. This VR title is funded by Sony, and will be branded as a Silent Hill game to help it sell more.
comfy. Love this game.
It's one of the few games i've bothered to platinum
shill thread
this game has no rewarding system therefore its shit
Can you still drink Monster™ Energy Drink?
im at the part where you dont have Lou
it fucking sucks and now i can tell by the map that the next missions is forcing me into a BT area again
fun!
git gud
git dead
this. so much this. upvoting for visibility. if you're a decent human being and want to wear a mask and volunteer for Ukraine, this game is for people on the right side of history. it's a shame they removed the monster energy though, I used to drink one every time I played the game and it really added to the immersion. my only gripe is the upvote system should link directly to my reddit account. oh and there arn't any doggos to pet.
Stock up on piss grenades, they scare away BTs. Shit grenades will lure them to where you throw them. So use those in combos with the hemetic grenades
i do not care for BT encounters, i just wanna walk
Kill yourself shitposter
uh oh chuds mad
but how can you tell where they are (in the snow)?
no if you upgrade to Director's Cut.
Good movie
>don't have Lou
>have to go through BT zone
>fuck it I'll take a truck and brute force my way through
>screen flashes black
>suddenly my truck is stuck in an ocean of black goop
>oh fuck oh shit oh shit oh fuck
>only have a couple PP grenades, a couple blood grenades
>run for my life as TWO lion goops spawn and try to chase down my ass
It's been over a year since I last played, God this game has so many memorable unscripted moments
The first few encounters were cool but once the novelty wears off and you realise there's not much to BTs they just kind of turn into a nuisance.
>Paid $7 for the upgrade
Where?
Stand still and they become visible
I will never understand how you could not love this game
it's only 10 bucks bruh
>it's only 10 bucks bruh
They treat PC as a second class customer so i treat them as a second class company.
this game is literally made for loners and depressed people
How do you even get into backpacking? /fit/ guy here, frequent hiker. Just a little terrified of being out in the middle of nowhere for more than a day at a time. Any good beginner guides? Would really love to learn.
in which way do they treat us as second class customers? the port wasn't outsourced. If you're talking about timed exclusive, well sony literally paid for this game to be made
>well sony literally paid for this game to be made
Oh, if they paid for it then I guess they won't need my money.
For me, it's the sticky gun.
no.
It was created for the shock value of a gameplay of watching a man walk forever in an empty field with nothing to do but go from point a to point b in order to watch a poorly written movie.
Lol, you haven't played it.
dunno what you're so mad about, but this game has a really big budget for such a strange concept. If you believe, it could have been made without the big sony money and from sales alone, you're delusional. I'm just really happy the game exists. Bought it on PS4 and on PC, then upgraded the PC version.

Source: Dude, trust me.
stay mad, not my problem
but playing this game offline kills the whole concept, just saying piratefag
Is this the best walking Simulator of all time
it is hands down
Kojima actually disagreed with calling it a Director's Cut, but Sony insisted. I think he wanted to call it Director's Plus or something.
>this game is literally made for loners and depressed people
so that's why I liked it so much
Sony should then become a producer and fuck off from any other ventures.
Exclusive games deserve nothing but piracy and timed exclusives piracy or heavy discounts in case of good games.
>buzzword buzzword
2 digit IQ
I finished it. I bought a PS4 to support Kojima's project in 2019 when it was still being touted as a platform exclusive. He delivered an unsatisfactory final product, because it focused on its stupid movie instead of deep gameplay.
sucks to suck i guess
i did that and didnt see any when i was right next to one, so i assumed it was BB that made me see them
bro, nintendo does exclusives too you know. I hate exclusive shit as much as the next guy, but if it means games such as this are made, it's a price I can pay. Just wait a year and pay less for it. I paid 60 for the PS4 release on launch, then 20 on steam on sale (it was on sale many times) and 10 for the upgrade. I don't see a problem with this game. Monster Hunter Rise was way worse, because the fucking switch held the graphics back so much for example. in a perfect world every game would come out on PC, but it's just the way it is.
>Death Stranding is beloved here
When did that happen? I was pretty impartial to the game and made it up to Mama before I lost interest. Does the story actually pick up? I can take some cheesy and awkward moments, the good old Kojima trademark, but it was feeling like too much. Was playing on the hardest difficulty and the game was still braindead easy. Should I give it another chance? Are there any combat improvements?
can you do anything interesting with it beyond yoinking cargo?
being the connection between separated people in the post apocalypse is a great concept issue is it felt a bit hollow in DS the text people would send you were nice but it wouldve been nice to see different station and people react to your arrival like in the postman youtu.be
