Starcraft: Broodwar, ASL season 13, 3rd Place Decider soma vs Bisu Both these players have performed admirably this season but fell short in the semifinals to Rain and Light. Hopefully they deliver some great games tonight to tide us over until the finals on Saturday.

neutral units made to shrink the entrance to bases smaller to allow for walloffs. while later in the game you can kill them to widen the gap
Gabriel Baker
They're neutral buildings to make chokepoints slightly smaller and easier to defend in the early game but can be destroyed later on when you want to funnel lots of troops out of your base.
Parker Hill
They're mostly to make the ramps easier to block.
Robert Wood
finally, hot6 shilling time

Did soma really think that Bisu will do the same Corsair build in the first game that he spread his overlords like that? wtf
Asher Davis
Cool feature, thanks
Jordan Kelly
Mapmaking for broodwar can be a little janky at times but is a fine art it this point. There's some weird maps out there with all kinds of features used in unintended ways.
If he was fully back, he'd be playing Rain in the finals. He is looking pretty good though.

man Protoss seems to be the only race not getting supply blocked memes. For a while Toss would rape terran bases with Scarab+ Damage and destroy the depot farms, but it seems like that tactic fell off. meanwhile we are getting constant Overlord bullying
Kayden James
thats because the entirely of PvZ is built around corsairs either bullying overlords or threatening to bully overlords.
nuking supply farms doesnt matter as much since they are a lot tougher and i think most toss either want to chance a SCV shot or killing the armory
Brandon Cox
He looks good, I hope he carries and improves this form next season. I'm surprised it took him this "quickly" to recover form.
Aiden Martin
>thats because the entirely of PvZ is built around corsairs either bullying overlords or threatening to bully overlords. All pioneered by Bisu more than a decade ago.

Been playing Starcraft for the longest time and I never knew about the Concussive and Explosive damage types, has it always been like this?
Michael Barnes
huh?
Matthew Peterson
yes. I never knew about it either. I remember always switching out marines with ghosts in bunkers once I unlocked ghosts since they deal 10 damage instead of 6. And i was always confused why they performed much more poorly. Same with vultures having 20 damage while performing like shit
Dominic Mitchell
its complete bullshit that ghosts dont do full damage to everything on top of their upgrades giving a piddly +1 damage per
Cameron Miller
Yes and it makes Ghosts do no damage lol
Benjamin Butler
yea, Damage types are extreme bullshit
Kayden Morgan
only bullshit part is that they are never properly explained in the campaign
I think blizzard overestimated the power of cloak and ghosts.
Asher Kelly
Ghosts only reason to exist, is to harass you in the Terran campaign locking down you constantly
Dylan Watson
Bisu took too much damage, I think this is over.

ghosts are at least strong in single player since the AI is completely retarded against them >AI barely builds detection >AI doesn't care if their buildings are being killed by cloaked units, won't waste scans/overlords/observers to stop it >AI doesn't care about nukes right on their main/army >AI loves to bleed out units instead of massing, which makes ghosts surprisingly competent at forming gigantic, murderous 100+ ghost concaves
Samuel Thomas
>last map butter >the premier zerg map
Anthony Powell
I remember wanting to kill the ion cannon in the final terran mission with mass yamato cannon. Only for a pack of ghosts to just lock them all down and slowly pick them apart.
if you get to 100 ghosts you couldve built about anything else, like mass tank, to bust the AI harder.
