Aaaand its shit

Aaaand its shit.

To that user who told me Emil wasnt writing, fuck you for getting my hopes up.

What did he write previously?

Microsoft/Bethesda marketers aside. Why the FUCK would anyone be hyped for Bethesda trash? Seriously, all of their games are garbage.

Morrowind had horrendous graphics on day fucking one. People acted like they were breathtaking.

>Betheada
>shit

Yeah bringing back Emil has fucked this game. The guy is plain awful.

>What did he write previously?
He's the one who came up with the dogshit uninspired writing in Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Fallout 4.

He also held a presentation demonstration just how fucking clueless he is about writing stories for games. He's the main driving reason why bethesdas worldbuilding has become absolute utter dogshit.

when has a bethesda product not been shit?

fallout 3, skyrim, fallout 4, fallout 76

How can he still get a job, even though he fucked up so badly on writing?

Name some open world games with dungeons and quests. Because I'm suffering from withdrawals and Todd's game is the only thing that could solve it

>has become

lmao

Why does anyone have any hope for these hack devs again?

looking forward to the story in a bethesda game in 2022?

I used that term because from what Ive heard, Morrowind has some really good lore and worldbuilding. Havent played it myself though.

Nepotism. Been in the company for 19 years.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Based Bethesda, they’ll never learn their lesson so I never have to purchase a game from them ever again or upgrade my GPU.

>Nepotism
I thought so. Well, worst comes to worst is just me not touching their games anymore.

What's wrong with this face?

Shit

Already played 167 hours of it. Great game, waiting for the next one

>still mad

>Name some open world games with dungeons and quests.
Witcher 3 has the best quests of any open world game. Kingdom Come isn't quite as good as far as writing goes but is much more similar to Elder Scrolls, and the writing is still 10x better than anything in Skyrim.

I see that Blizzdrones got their tactics stolen by the Elden Ring zoomers.

TW3 is shit
2 was better

Oh noes the guy who wrote the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion and the Imp v Stormcloak quests from Skyrim is still writing.
How will they ever recover from having the best writer they ever had keep writing?

New Vegas troons still seething I see

Already played through Witcher 3 three times. Still mad that CDPR refused to release the RED Kit for that game and kneecapping any potential for largish quest mods.

> REEEE Why do people like things I don't?

Like Todd "God" Howard would say.... It just works! Haha lol!

>Graphics
When talking about RPG's. You're the reason all modern games are trash

>Modern Beth writing
Keep It Simple Stupid
>Old Beth writing
Takes LSD and spend hours coming up with backround lore

>TW3 is shit
Anybody who says this is lying to themselves. 2 was great as well but the variety of quests in TW3 in unmatched. The side quests are so good it's easy to forget whether you're even on the main quest.

That's pretty much only Morrowind.

Starfield is going to save western gaming.

>Mainstream turns on Bethesda after Fallout 76
>Yea Forumstrarianism kicks in and now tards on here like Bethesda
like clockwork

Besides TW3 and Kingdom come, I can't think of anything. I guess Dragon's Dogma but that's dated as shit.

It is easy to write things like Towers made of poetry. It is harder to actually implement it in game.
At least Emil understands the medium he works in.

why is fo4 so disorganized and nonsensical compared to skyrim if its the same writers?

because the gameplay is just as fundamentally flawed as the story

>There are retards who thought Niggerfield would be good just because of console war delusions
Halo Infinite all over again.

Attached: 1645638598631.jpg (636x592, 136.92K)

The only Bethesda game I've ever hated was Fallout 3, I've never played 76.

Played that one too, I'm still holding out hope for a sequel.

Witcher 3 has great writing, but the actual quest design is painfully generic.

That does not explain the Institute at all

"open world game" is an oxymoron. you can have an open world or you can have a game, but you can't have both.

That makes no sense

The mushrooms story is false, that dude actually just has a theology degree.

fo3 is one of the most popular games of all time
its a true open world and a true game

I believe the contrarians are expressing their real views, but their 'real views' are that the game is supposed to have a specific on-rails story that conforms to the standards of a western rpg
and it doesnt

I don’t get it, the writing in those games were pretty good though? Especially Skyrim and Fallout 4

Skyrim was just as nonsensical, but it worked due to the fantasy magical setting.

Emil doesnt understand writing RPGs. He thinks he is writing a story like a novel or a film, a railroaded start, beginning and end. He doesnt realize that he has to instead write a series of events of which the player is a central part of, and whose decisions shape outcomes which are then reflected in the world.

This is why in Skyrim, F4 (and to some extend, 76 but thats more to do with online multiplayer) nothing really matters, your decisions dont actually do anything. Nothing changes. You can literally murder the emperor and still be accepted into the legion. You can become the archmage of winterhold without casting a single spell or knowing jack shit about magic.

Bro I just want to run around a map doing quests, getting treasure and killing shit in dungeons

everyone who does Theology or Humans degree is a fucking crackhead weed junkie.

Must be Eastern religions. That is who they ripped off.

Thats because you lack a frame of reference. Check

>I don’t get it, the writing in those games were pretty good though? Especially Skyrim and Fallout 4
You need to go back.

It's over. F to pay respects.

>Emil
dropped

Bethesda games have always had a problem with exposition-based dialogue. Instead of natural, realistic conversations you have in most RPGs, your character can only ask simple questions and then get a bunch of exposition from the NPC. This is how dialogue has worked in Bethesda games since Morrowind. Fallout 4’s 4 simple choices dialogue system was just the logical conclusion to this design philosophy

"on-rails" is zoomer speak for actual games with gameplay that have the audacity to expect something from them instead of just letting them walk around an empty grass field.

Emil understands story serves and is subservient to gameplay. The narrative is there for you to find and never insists on itself.

Your complaints about Emil's supposed flawsshow you are unfit to write for games as well.

isn't this the fag who got hired literally because he was todd's nuthugger in high school?

still going to be a better RPG than cyberpunk

Liking Bethesda shit is the easiest way to out yourself as a Reddit tourists since that place defends Bethesda to the death
All their games for the past while are buggy, poorly made shallow messes with no substance, mediocre gameplay, bad writing, and middling characters, almost if not always built on lies as well. They always require a gorillion mods to even be playable at best.

Attached: 1521524014922.jpg (489x488, 33.67K)

this is a reasonably good point
but its back to the entire NV vs FO3 argument
just because you want that spider web of branching outcomes, doesnt mean that everyone wants that
there was never a point during my new vegas playing that I didn't feel like it was a downgrade from fo3, because the game was constantly telling me 'this is who you are, this is what you're doing, this is what you must choose, these are the facts your supposed to care about, and none of that agreed with what was already in my head, the roleplaying I had already generated for the character I was playing.
It was only after playing it to its completion that I kind of understood what the writer was trying to do with new vegas, but I resented his constant interference in my experience, which could have been handled entirely with visuals and combat, and didn't require the quests and dialogue

so while I agree that fo4 was missing polish, and I was forced to leave Preston in the museum, and kill off the two factions that made the least sense, I still enjoyed it as a roleplaying experience, simply because it had so little pre-established narratives
I wish that FO4 had been more like FO3, with almost no pre-established narratives

>subservient to gameplay.

Crucially incorrect. The story should enhance gameplay and provide meaning and nuance to the decisions you make.

>The narrative is there for you to find and never insists on itself.

Bethesda games dont even do this. Unless you mean storytelling via asset placement in the world. Refer to the " its too complicated for you to understand" meme.

Shut up Emil
