Marika contributed to the Night of Black Knives
All Ranni ever actually did was create the Black Knives and used one on herself
>create the Black Knives
>Ranni
Some people think this is the dragon Elden Ring in Farum Azula but they’re WRONG! It’s actually a MAGICAL SEAL that will bar any discussion over who really ordered/committed Godwyn’s murder on the Night of Black Knives.
as in the actual knives, not the assassins
I ordered the hit on godwyn

I wrote up a post in the hopes of proving that the Marika collaborator theory is retarded so it stops taking over regular lore threads
What did Renalla do to deserve the bullshit thrown at her? Husband left her and then Ranni fucking kills herself. No wonder she was a mindbroken mess.
Lore proving she didn't nothing wrong?
Nice ball of heads.
Cause fuck the moon lmao
T. Greater Will
I wanted her to take over the academy and I’d become Elden Lord and then marry her to clean up Radagon’s mess
but then the bitch turned herself into a graven mass so I married Ranni instead
She's just chilling
shes the only person who actively helps the tarnished.
If she never turned into a ball, the tarnished would have the entire support of the academy, how fucking based is that. but noooo, thats too op and it makes too much sense for it to happen.
Shut UP
So Malenia is truly immortal? If you betray Millicent she becomes an flower which is the wanted result from gowry, because she'll bloom into another being. If you don't betray her she remains an corpse. Malenia is just also an flower after "killing" her. So Malenia is not dead?
It doesn't need much more than just saying. If Marika was behind it Ranni would have definitly said so. She hates Marika and would want the world to know she killed her kid. She doesn't, even stating the opposite.
she has no tits and she has no eyes. modern artists never study the actual material.
>She hates Marika
And she hates le radagon too? And that's why she kiled herself to spite them, right? Headcanon
This is her fully healed. Check out her arms
What did Gideon see that terrified him about marika?
No demigod can die without being stabbed by death rune juice or blackflame.
It's just tiring at this point
Why do they hate fun and literally anything that isn't le epic grim dark so much
What does the praying woman with the wolves represent? Marika and Maleketh/beastmen?
He saw that she created the Tarnished so they could kill the Elden Beast, or something along these lines, something that confirmed her opposition to the Order that she herself founded.
Every action she takes it to break free of the gods. There is no reason not to blame Marika for all that's wrong with the world like Hyetta does to the GW including making up lies. She wouldn't lie to help Marika hide Godwyn's murder.
How come they don't respawn then?
Scarlet rot is super aids created by a probably malevolent outer god, so her very existence causes suffering as long as she keeps spreading it. Other than that she did nothing wrong
Most of them are still there in their boss arenas after you beat them, drained of strength
Betrayal of Maliketh:
Marika created the Tarnished who would one day kill Maliketh to release the Rune of Death
there wasn't even a proper explanation as to why sellen was turned into a ball, and why rennala was just cowering in the corner when sellen took over.
The reason why Ranni did what she did was to free herself from the Two Fingers, the "she hates Marika/Radagon for cucking her mom" is something people came up with because it makes sense if you look at it superficially. But she never implies it, let alone state it.
It's interesting because
>Spirits of wolves chased from their pack. They later encountered a nameless Tarnished, who welcomed them as hunting companions.
>Spirit Calling Bell and Lone Wolf Ashes are from "Torrent's former master"
>The primeval current is a forbidden tradition of glintstone sorcery. To those who cleave to its teachings, the act of collecting sorcerers to fashion them into the seeds of stars is but another path of scientific inquiry.
Graven Mass Talisman
The fact she was somehow born with an Outer God's hooks already in her is very weird, to the point where I gotta think that it was part of Marika's schemes to fuck with the greater will. It puts off the Greater Will from selecting Malenia as a replacement for Marika, and Miquella bailed from the Golden Order when it was clear they couldn't help his sister too.
>shes the only person who actively helps the tarnished.
apart from Hewg, Roderika and Nepheli, you mean?
Go to your containment thread
Regardless of the specifics of why she did it there's absolutly no reason why Ranni wouldn't lie about her involvment but would lie about Marika's. Whe only has to lose doing it.
Moh and Radahn the only ones withstanding. Morgott just disappeared though?
Morgott’s corpse lasts until Godfrey’s opening cutscene
imo Alexander “eats” Radahn and I think neither Mohg is the real Mohg
Oh I don't care about that, just pointing out that the "Ranni is mad at her family" meme is just pure headcanon.
>nepheli is a coward
>yeah i forgot about hewg
>roderika, i dont use summons
She gave into a malevolent elder gods influence when she couldn't beat Rahdan and nuked 1/6th of the continent while her brother was getting kidnapped. And now her rot is starting to infest the hailgtree, something that probably wasn't in Miquellas plans so she's fucked up pretty much everything that matters to her and I don't think she even know how bad she's fucked up.
tl:dr you wife is shit.
Yeah but why does Morgotts corpse disappear? Because the tarnished carried destined death near him?
Intersecting theory in Mohg. Is there an explanation why he is a illusionary boss under the capital? I think the mohgwyn palace one is the real one because you get a rune from him there
She lives in the Haligtree which is meant to be a safe haven for those fucked over by the GW showing that she has some degree of compassion
She loves her brother very much
She did not kill Godrick and take his rune meaning that her warpath to Caelid was not necessarily about obtaining power
Nuking Caelid and abandoning her pride was indeed something she did wrong but I doubt Miyazaki intended her to be evil like ledditors seem to think, but her cut content leaves a lot of gaps in her character and motivations.
>Is there an explanation why he is a illusionary boss under the capital?
This is why I think neither is real. There’s not much concrete info
>She hates Marika
Says who? You just made that up.
hotwife*
Isn't there any ending where i'm not a puppet from other fags intentions?
She is a disease-ridden whore with a brother complex. Sore loser and incompetent. Also her braps are so vile they destroy countries
Ranni wants to replace the golden order. She would want to reveal all their wrongdoings not take all the blame herself. She isn't lying.
Dung eater. Everyone may be cursed and suffer forever, but at least Omen are spurned from grace so the GW isn't super happy
I love my wife Ranni!!
Ranni is a fucking cunt who worked with Snake Boy to organize the Night of the Black Knives.
Godwyn was nothing but a bro and did nothing wrong. He didn't deserve his fate.
But that's just what the dung eater wants to do since he's fucking insane.
it's pretty clear desu. She is not mature after she faces even a tiny bit of difficulty she panics and hides away waiting for her big bro to fix everything for her. Her last lines confirm this. She was born a prodigy and had it easy so she became unable to deal with hard situations.
None of that suggests Ranni does or should hate her. Especially when Marika's whole deal is rebellion against the Greater Will meaning Marika wants to replace the Golden Order too. You're just making shit up.
Do humans with scarlet rot and die from it become mushrooms, or kindred of rot? Actually, I'm somewhat reminded of old science that said that maggots spontaneously appeared out of nowhere. I think wherever scarlet rot spawns, rot kindred appear out of nowhere.
My theory is that he was an orhpan and omens raised him in the sewer that's why he is called dung eater. He loves omens because of this and wants to turn everyone into omens.
Nope. Even Dung Eater’s ending has you fucking Marika who can kick you out of the house whenever she wants.
Are you still on this? Rykard was indisputably involved with the plot and she never implicates him. This, "If she had conspirators she would totally name them," point is worthless.
nice headcanon
> Ranni is said to be the 主犯 and not the 黒幕. That suggests that she wasn't just ordering or manipulating the black knives but participating in Godwyn's killing as one of them.
Wrap it up, this game's translation is butchered. Although the smartest lorefags among us were already able to figure out Ranni was foul, for weeks.
How is it headcanon? Your goal in the game is to become Marika’s consort, and Marika booted Godfrey out once before, ergo there’s precedent for it. And the Two Fingers/GW didn’t give a shit, so it was an acceptable decision. This is all said to you in the game.
I'm making shit up when I'm saying Ranni doesn't have a single good reason to lie to help Marika.
She never mentions him but that isn't the same as lying by claiming the opposite.
Give me one good reason as to why Ranni would want to hide Marika's involvment.
The entire point of the Elden Lord ending is becoming Marika's consort
Such a shame that all endings are kinda lame. I wish i could go with an age of dark like on DaS1 or where you choose to not be a puppet from the great ones like on Bloodborne.
>Unloved child becomes a serial killer and curses the world because he wants to turn everyone into his fursona
I'm liking this character less and less by the day
maybe the vanilla ending, you don't know what effects the other endings have on her.
>Ranni stabbed Godwyn and herself at the same time
>the Black Knives then carried her burning body to the divine tower while being chased through the capital
>nobody knows anything about Ranni beyond her subordinates, Jerren (who serves her family), Sellen, and Rogier
lol what the fuck Miyazaki
Gotta pay for the DLC to unlock the best ending :^)
he's too based for you
You're making shit up by saying she hates Marika. There's no evidence for that whatsoever. Omitting something is not lying about it, it's exactly the same as with Rykard. This whole lying thing is also something you're just making up.
Ranni kicks her out of the house, Frenzied Flame burns her down. The Golden Order endings don’t swap out the order that’s in place, so you still fuck her.
All the mending rune endings are basically the same user
I think Marika merges into Melina's body in Frenzy Flame ending
Her body "dies" in that ending with seemingly no input, which means she might have done it herself, and then Melina shows up with her marked eye opened
Of the Elden Lord endings age of order is likely the best one.
Ranni's is good is you think the world can survive without outer gods.
cope n seethe
I hope those black knives didn't do it for free that sounds a pain in this, and then they lured a godskin noble there to be a guard.
>Her body "dies" in that ending with seemingly no input
It crumbles because (you) take the elden ring
BKs could have dragged her body somewhere else and her subordinates took it to the tower after I guess
Nothing suggests he's an illusion, the Margits disappear when Morgott dies but sewer Mohg remains even after blood Mohg is dealt with. Blood Mohg is the real one because of the remembrance and rune, sewer Mohg could be any number of shenanigans (magic blood clone, ninjitsu blood clone, experimental blood clone, body/soul divide, some other omen cosplaying) but seems mainly there so no-one gets suspicious of what he's really up to.
all of the endings suck ass, why am I always some nigger god’s puppet?
>makes a whole essay about his schizo waifushit
>nobody cares
>shits up other threads with it
>nobody believes him
>still can't shut up about it
You're the one seething, bitch nigger.
Not sure if fat or pregnant. I'm turned on either way.
Look tarnished, i turned myself into a gravenmass, I’M GRAVENMASS SELLEN!
You are consort to a cute waifu in stars ending. Fighting aliens in space and having sex on the moon.
you fuck someone in every ending but you’re still second fiddle and that’s dumb as fuck. Elden Lord is a dumb fucking title, it’s like being told you’re the CEO of a company and your only job is to fuck the president in the ass
lmao more like a cuck slave to a sociopath homicidal maniac doll
cope
frenzied flame is the only based ending
Yeah but the president is hot as hell
I’m not so sure Marika is even sentient anymore.
So what, I love being a cuck
YJK
>But when I recall, I see it true.
>And the demigods began to fall, starting with Godwyn the Golden.
>Queen Marika was driven to the brink.
>The Shattering ensued
Ranni would have to be lying here and you must convince me of a reason to do so.
> your head explodes and you die
> your body becomes a sockpuppet for some jewish demon
> based ending
Whatever floats your boat, bro
Not only you're a jewish puppet but you don't even fuck anyone
fuck off /pol/tards.
it’s the incel ending
you fuck yourself and then take everyone with you lmao
>A trailer
>The same trailer where she who broke then ring, and why
>The same trailer where she asks who stole the rune of death
These more and more intricate and nonsensical loops that Marika Dindu Nuffins need to twist the lore into to make Ranni the only villain
>rannifags say translation was wrong
>anti-rannifags say translation was wrong
so we're in agreement now?
>incel ending
that just proves it's the best and most based ending
No no its fine, friend. You do you.
LoB forms out of a pool of blood, which makes me suspect he’s also a fake or illusion
>"You're Ranni, behind the Night of the Black Knives?"
>"Yes, I did it all."
>NOOO SHE DIDN'T DO IT ALL SHE'S A GOOD GIRL
Come on man.
Ranni’s story becomes more nonsensical each time I hear it. I swear there’s shit missing in there that would add valuable context but instead it’s somehow a fucking mess even though the plot for it is extremely simple.
omfg lmfao roflmao XD
>you must convince me
I ain't gotta do shit. My only point so far has been that your previous points are retarded and prove nothing, and you constantly bringing them up as if they are definitive proof of anything is retarded. Cope and seethe, bitch nigger
>it's the JOOOOOOOOOOOS
seek help retards
>The same trailer where she who broke then ring, and why
>The same trailer where she asks who stole the rune of death
No lies there, omissions like with Rykard. A lie requires a reason. The omissions also need to be explaned at they will be done from Ranni's point of view. So the lie must too.
> your head explodes and you die
> your body becomes a sockpuppet for some demon
> based ending
Here you go friend. Doesn't sound any better to me.
>the amount of head canon and mental gym ast dedicate to that fucking post
Amazing and pathetic at the same time.
>I have theory
>But why whould she say this.
>I don't need to tell you.
>Shabriri, a jewish demon
>Race of merchants
>Were executed and swore revenge
It is da joos, sorry bro
>A proves B
>No it doesn't
>Yes it does
>No it doesn't
>Well I meant C all along not A
Cope and seethe.
marika and ranni are both traitorous schemers
>ranni loves renala
>renala snapped when radagon left
>radagon loves the golden order
>ranni hates the golden order
it's based because it burns your whore waifu, faggot
Shabriri is, in Jewish folklore, a demon of blindness.
Go fucking learn something.
We get his Great Rune and Remembrance at least so whether he fully comes out of the egg or just sends a blood clone to distract us, he's at least there.
greater will orderfag detected
oh, then it has to be the canon ending since everyone knows Jews always win
Good for you, friend.
Theory: Marika was behind Godwyn's killing
My evidence against: Ranni saying people killed Godwyn and Marika was then driven to the brink. Not the other way around.
Your reason as to why this is a lie by Ranni: ???
Also, according to the Cursemark of Death, Ranni’s flesh died first. So how the fuck does this work?
Shalom
>I have proven something
>No you haven't
>Okay well let's just talk about something else entirely
Cope and seethe.
I'm pretty sure Torrent's former master is Ranni's mentor Renna. So that might be her.
Yeah I have no real basis except for neither Mohg disappearing when you kill the other, mostly just trying to have discussion that’s not about Marika vs Ranni with all the same arguments that have all been made already
Tell me about St. Trina
It doesn't work. I don't know why people are just blindly believing it when even the original text just says it, "suggests" she stabbed him herself, not outright states it. If something is suggested and obviously doesn't work then it's not true.
>Renna was a Tarnished
>she had four arms
Why the fuck can’t I have four arms?
It's Miquella
Post yfw the main menu theme played during the Radagon fight.
It's an other name for the fag in the cocoon
Ranni is a loving wife.
Dear chads report in. We are CONSORTS ETERNAL. We aren't getting kicked out like Godfrey
You mean the original JP text?
my wife :)
The Spirit Calling Bell is, the Wolf Ashes aren't stated to be.
You Marika was behind the Knives theory does not hold ground unless you remove all evidence against it.
Gold mask. People who misunderstood it will disagree, but what he did was come up with a calculation that would remove the need of a puppetmaster. So with his ending you are cutting the strings and leaving instead a machine, a new golden order operating like a clock.
Ranni's is arguably the same, though you're more cutting the strings, replacing the control booth with an older clock that used to govern things, and then fucking off to space.
Dung Eater's is about ruining everything so no gods will have it.
Frenzy Flame is technically one too because what that god wants is to just destroy it all including itself so something new can grow from the ashes hopefully without anyone controlling it.
But the night of black knives was good. Godwin was probably hitler. Also Marika has some role there
Some view St Trina as an alter ego to Miquella (also permanent child and believer in peace)
Remember that the theme of Elden Ring is basically twinning with stuff like D, Hunter of the Dead; Dung Eater's split corporeal and spiritual forms; Marika and Radagon; speculation around Ranni and Melina; etc
chubby
St. Trina is the pesona Miquiella wears for the public, a perfect never aging god child and symbol of whatever they want to believe. The reality was someone cursed and in agony over it.
Gold mask is kinda epic, too bad we know little about him.
(S)he has cute bangs that she loves and grows out when she's older because he loves his long hair!
he looks pretty big to me in his cocoon
We could talk about the Gloam-Eyed Queen but that would just attract Melina fags. Here's something interesting then, the Elden Stars says the GW sent a star/beast that becomes the ring. How do you feel about the idea that the ring already existed, and the star/beast just becomes it in the same way people can become lord? We know that the dragons had a ring different to the Golden Order and that Placidusax was Elden Lord with a god who abandoned them, and dragons were enemies of the Greater Will, not subjects of it. Could it be that what the Greater Will sent was the runes to make the Golden Order's ring, but the ring itself was always around as a collection of runes governing life and death? I think a key part of this is the rune of death. Why would the Greater Will send Destined Death as part of the ring at all when it contradicts everything the Golden Order stands for and is specifically forbidden? This kind of metaphysical stuff often falls to the wayside because people are caught up in their waifu autism.
>Remember that the theme of Elden Ring is basically twinning
Most have in universe explanations
Mind explaining his ending?
Wasn't Godwyn like really popular and liked by everyone though?
The funny thing is they refer to him as brilliant right before saying gold, so the assumption is of brilliant light and shining gold, but he wasn't just a priest, he was a mathematician. He was a frail monk who became skeletal by staring into nothing and calculating endlessly.
Not my theory. You're mindbroken and think everyone who calls you stupid is part of some cult against you. Very pathetic. Cope and seethe.
Yes, that guy is retarded.
Hitler was popular too. Jews just dirtied his name
Whose, I mentioned like 4 of them there. And do you mean what happened or how you get it?
The guy saying she's called shuhuan instead of chingchun or whatever suggesting she stabbed him herself. He never says she's called the knife-wielder and definitely stabbed him, just that it suggests that. Yet if you think it through for even a second that's obviously retarded.
I like that line of inquiry, the fact that other gods such as the Frenzy Flame need to claim the Elden Ring does suggest that it could have been claimed by the GW in the past
user that doesn't make it not a theme. Though he has it backwards. It's not twinning, it's duality. Two halves to a whole. Two faces, two realities, a lie or a fiction, a past and a future.
Sorry, I meant Goldmask’s ending. I want your explanation of how his ending works in fixing the Golden Order.
that explains why you need int for his incantations. Closed my faith build out of his ending unfortunately went with the based dung instead
Sure but it also doesn’t mean St Trina is a separate being from Miquella either
Kinda like Isaac Newton's theory about how God created the universe and did not need to interfere because it worked on its own. He perfects the system so it doesn't need an active God anymore
Uh no, she stole the rune of death and intended it to be stolen again then made him believe it was his fault.
So you don't agree with said theory, like I don't.
Omen were heavily associated with the crucible and were revered by its people. So I dont think the GW gives a shit.
Plus the Golden Order's thing is taking that which already exists and altering it for GW's purposes. The crucible existed and was spawning life before the Erdtree grew out of it and altered its function. The Golden Order is founded on the principle that Marika is the one true god, yet the beast itself is shown to be a god, and more gods existed before the Golden Order otherwise GEQ wouldn't have a reputation for slaying them. Then there's the Fell God and Dragon God, who aren't explicitly named as outer gods so might have just been god-gods. The problem is there's so little information and nothing outright provable (that I've found at least) meaning I can't dig much deeper, and nobody wants to back-and-forth with me on it because there are no waifus involved in this specific line. This must be what Goldmask felt like and why he never fucking bothered talking to people.
>Gold mask. People who misunderstood it will disagree, but what he did was come up with a calculation that would remove the need of a puppetmaster.
Puppetmaster would imply someone at the top orchestrating everything, and the Greater Will behind the Golden Order wasn't the problem. It was in the Gods enacting it, or not, or just fucking around with how death works and breaking it.
He's looking to remove the middle managers and make it so the Golden Order is 100% what the Greater Will wants
You say that the Black Knifes would never help Marika because they refuse her Golden Order. But the reason Marika ordered the hit was to destroy the Golden Order after witnessing what we saw in the Elden Beast arena. Hundreds and hundreds of worlds just like ours with their populations brainwashed to feed their souls into the erdtrees to feed the outer gods (or benefit them in some other way). She shatters the Elden Ring, the origin of her Golden Order and maybe AFTER being crucified inside the tree (there's statue of her crucified form all around, so this was a known event in the history of the land) asks the Black Knifes for help, offering them everything they want. The destruction of the Golden Order (if the shattering hadn't happened yet), death of Marika and inside her, the death of the Elden Beast that represented the order
Queen Marika and the elden beast within her have a red wound in the same spot on their stomach. Someone struck her and at the same time the Elden Beast. A black knife is required to kill a God. And theres a random black knife assassin just outside of her bedchamber
The base assumption is that there are flaws in the golden order and much of the problems are, as the description says, due to the fickleness of gods who are not better than men.
>MENDING RUNE OF PERFECT ORDER
>Rune discovered by the noble Goldmask.
Used to restore the fractured Elden Ring when brandished by the Elden Lord.
>A rune of transcendental ideology which will attempt to perfect the Golden Order.
>The current imperfection of the Golden Order, or instability of ideology, can be blamed upon the fickleness of the gods no better than men. That is the fly in the ointment.
There's no saying if it actually works, has no flaws, or is actually better or an improvement. But it proposes that they're a crucial flaw in the machine and that it can work without them if it uses this formula.
Cool, thanks.
No I don't, I just think you're stupid.
Rannis end is objectively good ending
Someone explain to me who the Sages were? Who are the Outer Gods?
I would like to see where it's even implied the greater will is still part of that equation and doesn't quality as one of the gods being cut out of it. The elden beast, the erd tree, marika, the fingers, the greater will, they are all in some way working within a system. Which ones are the gods being cut out by gold mask, which are left in, or is it empty of all of them? I think they're suggesting the later.
what the fuck is the Golden Order? D says he serves the Golden Order, and then the way Ranni talks about her own Order makes it sound like an era or something.
That one is easy, because there's just one god, singular, Marika
Everyone else is a demigod
They were revered as signifiers of the divine in ancient times, long before the Golden Order. During the Golden Age where the GW was in charge they were shunned as cursed and either had their horns cut off (which usually killed them) or were imprisoned underground if royal. GW clearly didn't like them.
Elden Ring lore in general is so fucking messy. From has finally reached a level of complexity where their method of "storytelling" (or lack thereof) completely falls the fuck apart, because everything being implied or conjecture leads to nothing but crap when there's so many threads to balance.
The golden order is the power structure of the lands between, led by Radagon, Two fingers, the church etc. The pantheon of gods/demigods is also called the golden order sometimes
Probably just the leading god at the time, like Marika. I don’t know why the GW would be beholden to the rules of something it created in the first place if it’s some Lovecraftian entity.
The greater will is an outer god. Rune says god. You can't cut out the outer god using the power of just a god it gave you.
the golden order is the religion. The fingers are both the bishop and messenger angels, the maidens are priestesses interpreting them, and the big God in charge is referred to as the greater will. He seems to likely be an outer god who wanted to impose his order on this world, sent the elden beast to grab a slice of it, grow a tree that would be a machine for maintaining order. And the elden ring is like the computer program it's running. Marika is basically just a chosen leader by this religion and god and considered a goddess, and whoever is made king is elden lord, but practically a puppet to the whole system.
That's the political structure here.
>can be blamed upon the fickleness of the gods no better than men
Is this saying that the gods are no better than men, or that gods and men are just as fickle as one another and equally at fault?
And yet Goldmask's rune specifies gods, plural, therefore he couldn't have been just talking about Marika.
Checkmate atheists
Because Marika’s not the first god placed in charge and he’s making it extend onto the next god in line.
It's saying gods are no better than men, with the ultimate point of if they are no better than men, why should they be in charge?
Those rules are the machine it uses to have any power in the world. The outer gods seem to only have power through proxy. The fingers are his metaphorical fingers in the world, the elden beast and the tree were supposed to be his machine to run things according to his design. With it all busted up he can't do much besides sending messages through the fingers.
What should I wear when proposing to Ranni? Carian Lnight armor with no helmet?
At the very least it's saying these particular gods are no better than men because of their fickleness which is comparable to that of men. But at its worse its saying gods are no better than men and their fickleness and flaws are what brought all these problems. So if men can't control destiny then why should the gods.
Didn’t it literally shove some city underground and send a star containing the Elden Beast onto the planet? What’s stopping the GW from sending another Beast down there?
feet
The Fell God at least has a little more, such as the trolls who betrayed the giants and had their front-face removed
He was popular because he was literally the golden boy. Gold as in the Golden Order. He was like Greater Wills jesus. The Greater Will is a machination of outer gods that exists to feed souls into the erdtree. During the Elden Beast arena you can see hundreds of other trees, hundreds of other worlds. Marika witnessed this and made 3 in some order and maybe not executed in a swift timeline
1. The Golden Order must be shattered
2. Destined Death must be stopped so the feeding of souls into the erdtree for the outer god of Greater Will stops
3. For this an empyrean has to die, a price must be paid and it will create a new adversary for the Golden Order. The Golden Jesus would be the most fitting choice, even if it hurt Marika deeply.
Yet Marika is the only god according to the Golden Order, that's one of the founding principles and no other gods are shown to exist with the implication being they were killed off before the Golden Order was established. You're making a lot of assumptions about what gods may or may not exist and what Goldmask knows of them.
>Please, become Elden Lord. Hewg was always saying that you were a Lord, to him. So slay her, with the weapons he smithed. Slay the god, Marika, who cursed us all.
FUCK MARIKA
Beast Champion armor. Altered of course for its cape.
What's most important in what greaves you wear. I chose Maliketh's for the claws because I was doing a proper witch that run and needed the goth look.
no
fuck roderika
stupid bitch
Nothing. In the Elden Lord endings it doesn't have to do anything.
>Someone explain to me who the Sages were?
The seven sages sealed Ganon in the sacred realm
But we know that Goldmask’s assumptions are considered heretical by Corwyn, so he might actually believe that other gods could succeed Marika. It’s not like we have much else to go off of.
SPEERET CHUUUNING
Empyreans exist so the concept that Marika is not supposed to be eternal is well established.
It's saying both are to blame for the flaws of the system. If the Order is the code which dictates the physical laws of the world, then all the alternative orders were/are open for fiddling from Gods or men since to them the Order exists to benefit someone.
The Perfect Order is like an untouchable AI. It exists for it's own sake and cannot be corrupted by greed of Gods or men because there's no backdoor for anyone to interact with it
the goldmask rune is probably also badly translated
それは黄金律を完全にせんとする
超越的視座のルーンである
現黄金律の不完全は、即ち視座の揺らぎであった
人のごとき、心持つ神など不要であり
律の瑕疵であったのだ
from deepl
>It seeks to perfect the Golden Rule It is the rune of transcendental vision
>The imperfection of the present Golden Rule was the fluctuation of vision.
There is no need for a manlike, mindful god.
It was a flaw in the law.
Seems pretty clearly to be only referencing Marika
Literally nothing, that's why Gideon goes Niggerman. It's only a matter of time until the GW turns its attention back to the planet in the Elden Lord endings
Or he knows about the beast. It specifically says God Slain.
>Marika the Eternal
>Not supposed to be eternal
The existence of empyreans doesn't prove the wider knowledge of the existence of empyreans. You knowing something doesn't mean all the characters do.
>Hewg can max out a weapon whereas every other DS blacksmith needed some kind of power item
>Marika still fucking jobs
what does it mean
Wouldn't it be better to notvwear grieves? Having bare hands touching hers after all
Weirdest fucking family in the Lands Between coming through.
you just have no way of knowing this. Dung eater's rune implies eternal change. Which is for sure against its wishes. But we don't know for sure because we don't know it's exact goals.
Marika was the one who commissioned/enslaved Hewg to make the godslaying weapon though
i don't know what you'e heard but we use protection around here
>when it contradicts everything the Golden Order stands for and is specifically forbidden?
Because it didn't. Consider this,
>the previous ruler, an empyrean chosen BY the Two Fingers, was the Gloam-Eyed Queen
>the GEQ had the Rune of Death as part of the Elden Ring
>implicitly this suggests that the Greater Will signed off on the GEQ and the RoD being part of the Ring
>after communing with the FF, Hyetta says that the Greater Will made a mistake in allowing life to diverge from it's primordial state of oneness, resulting in births and fracture, IE different peoples, different ideals, life, death, etc
>this would suggest that the Greater Will is actually fine with such division and it's consequences, and that the Golden Order attempting to integrate everything into their order and purge anything that wasn't, was not actually according to the Greater Will's design
The Erdtree itself is subtly indicative of this. Hyetta talks of "births" and "fracture". What represents this better than a tree? Like a family tree of all life, indicating the divergent branches of lineage through births and evolution.
>The existence of empyreans doesn't prove the wider knowledge of the existence of empyreans. You knowing something doesn't mean all the characters do.
It's a tough claim to make that nobody knows Empyreans are a thing especially not Goldmask.
As you should.
-Post by the definitely not Ranni gang.
So whats the point with all this space oriented stuff?
Magic = Space
but why?
With light armor or simple robes probably. You need to pick what best fits your character's whole theme. Bracers of some kind would be good too.
If you do go the beat champion armor route I recommend a blue hood cloak because the hood is the same shade as the armor's cape.
So, did Ranni kill Pidia or nah?
>Radahn can jump high enough to burn from atmospheric reentry
Why didn't Ranni just spend a few years learning gravity magic to jump up to Nokron 100 feet up?
I can't tell if the beasts on the armor are all just lions, or if its lions and wolves both
She killed or caused the death of everyone in the story so yeah
I want to say you can’t prove he doesn’t know about them but that’s a shit tier argument. Best I got is that some people know about them (ie, Gowry) so it’s possible Goldmask also knows about them.
I'm not seeing any wolves, just lots of lions all over.
Lol nah, I killed most of those fags myself
There's nothing to suggest the Gloam-Eyed Queen was the previous ruler. In fact that's pretty easily dismissed. The GEQ was an empyrean chosen by the Two Fingers. The Two Fingers are the lead proponents of the Golden Order. If the GEQ had hosted the ring under their direct guidance, they would have established the Golden Order together, yet GEQ's time was before the Golden Order. Doesn't make any sense, think it through.
There's a dab emote?
in this case it literally is which is based in its own way
She killed pretty much everyone.
>Blaidd and Iji mysteriously get assassinated by her black knives after she leaves
why is maliketh a dog? he's marika's half brother or something, but she isn't a dog.
Just like blaidd.
>You knowing something doesn't mean all the characters do.
I like the way the turtle pope illustrates this because he's so good at explaining lore and telling stories but it's all the public story, the fake mask of whatever was really happening. And he's vaguely aware of this but it's not important to him, and he knows it's still useful, so he just tells you it as he knows it.
you were manipulated by her
The implication of Goldmask not knowing what an Empyrean is would be the extreme lack of knowledge of how the current Golden Order he's trying to mend functions. It breaks his character down if true.
>by her black knives
>keeps the leader locked up because they keep trying to kill her
>collect all the death roots
>Maliketh’s dialog changes
Bros… first Blaidd and now Maliketh… it’s not fucking fair
Not really because he's about analyzing the order itself. He sees it broken, missing key controllers but sees their function, and knows enough to know their ego made them poorly suited to the role. So he removes them, and tries to calculated how it could function without them.
Ranni created the black knives and imbued them with the rune of death so she could commit sudoku. The Black Knife assassins were created by Marika to destroy the Golden Order, but were then coopted by the Greater Will to protect it.
If he can make a perfect system that functions without gods he does not need to know about who would be the next candidate for a god. He probably knows tho cus he's epic
Brilliant even.
>keep giving Beast Clergyman Deathroots
>aggros me
>read I have to whittle him down to get him to fuck off
>do like 80 damage per hit
>die in one hit
what's the recommended level for this?
when the beast cleric was still alive after I killed Maliketh I was legit disappointed
The new meme argument is that by keeping their leader locked up, she can blackmail them and use them for whatever she wants
The fact that she was a queen, was an empyrean chosen by the Two Fingers, and plainly controlled the Elden Ring previously is enough to definitively know that she was the previous ruler.
>The Two Fingers are the lead proponents of the Golden Order. If the GEQ had hosted the ring under their direct guidance, they would have established the Golden Order together, yet GEQ's time was before the Golden Order. Doesn't make any sense, think it through.
Within this statement lay an assumption - That the Golden Order is really the design of the Greater Will, and that the Two Fingers really enact the Greater Will's will.
In reality, we see that in the modern day the Two Fingers have practically no communication or contact with the Greater Will. When the tree turns out to be locked, the Two Fingers is forced to try to phone the Greater Will, which we're told can take ten thousand years. This suggests that the Two Fingers were really just making it up as they went along, without knowing what the Greater Will actually wanted.
The Golden Order functions on the principle that Marika is the one true god. Even the Two Fingers can't get around this,
>Queen Marika is the vessel of the Elden Ring, carrier of its vision.
>A god, in truth. But after the Elden Ring's shattering, she was imprisoned in the Erdtree.
>A grim punishment for shattering the Order, despite her godhood. The Fingers speak...
>Marika's trespass demanded a heavy sentence. But even in shackles, she remains a god, and the vision's vessel.
There's nothing to suggest that if a new empyrean was made host it would be the exact same Golden Order, and it damn sure isn't how the Golden Order is meant to function.
That only makes her hotter.
You only need to take like 10% of his health.
Alright well that's a bit more confidence inspiring, I didn't read exactly how much I needed to do.
That's actually a solid argument though because otherwise she would've just killed Alecto.
I hate
Me saying that Goldmask must know others can ascend to godhood is to explain why he says gods in his rune and not just Marika. Nothing else.
Farum Azula is lost in time or something. You fight the future version of him.
>ranni having 2 rings
Who gave ranni her first ring?
I heard her pubes are perfectly straight, like a cat's whiskers.
Pidia’s summoned puppets killed Pidia. The same ones that attack (you) on your way through the manor
You can say that about most evergaols though, we have no idea why people like Vyke and Godefroy were locked up rather than executed.
Some hobbit
>Needs to find Nokron city
>Instead of using the entire group of assassins she has at her disposal she asks Blaidd
Yeah it makes a lot of sense
I am probably retarded but why were there 2 roundtables in the game???
it’s a woman thing
>Blaidd
Blaidd gets killed by (You), did you even play the game?
And there's zero evidence she still has any control over the Gloam-Eyed Queen's goons
>You fight the future version of him.
So if you kill him before getting to Azure, is he dead the too?
Also if the assasins were compromised then she would only want a trusted few to even know she's looking for it, even fewer to know what to look for once there.
Is this fucking game a prequel o sequel to the soul games? I keep hearing this game endings lead to each one of the soul games but I call bullshit
no lol. small indie company please understand
No he's there. It's not the future exactly it's kind of a screwy place where time is broken. So he is both in his old clergyman form, but also in his prime. He's both dead and alive and remembers you.
The one you use as a hub is made like an astral projection copy of the original. It burns when the tree burns.
>The fact that she was a queen
Renalla is a queen.
>plainly controlled the Elden Ring previously
No proof of that. You assume this because she has the Rune of Death, but the idea that the Rune of Death came from the Elden Ring itself is an assumption, not a fact, and the idea that (even if it did) she took it from the ring herself is an assumption, not a fact. You have nothing definitive.
>In reality, we see that in the modern day the Two Fingers have practically no communication or contact with the Greater Will
In the modern day. There's nothing to suggest they never could. Enia even says that the fact it could take thousands of moons is not a problem for her (and wouldn't be a problem for Marika, the demigods, their immortal servants), it's only a problem for us. If anything this is proof they do speak for the GW, not proof against it, as Enia has witnessed it happen before.
You new to soulsborne kid?
In a previous thread, people were comparing Radagon = Marika to the Rebis from Alchemical esoterica. What other alchemical stuff/references are in the game? I found a reddit post going into it but it was written before the game's release and as a result is wrong in many ways and clearly reaching in others.
Blaidd
mistranslation, the Japanese word used means brother-in-law or sworn brother, not half-brother
Why? And why is it full of npcs then??
>According to some retards here the BKA are nox because nox are numen
>Meaning Ranni had people from the eternal city, and instead of using them she asked Blaidd
Very smart
The Black Knives in the game are explicitly her enemy and working for the GW. She created the weapons they use but Marika coopted them to help destroy the Golden Order and then the GW coopted them to protect itself.
Attendant to this, there's a secondary assumption, which I'm not sure is actually confirmed anywhere:
Do we actually definitively know that Marika herself was an empyrean, and was chosen by the Two Fingers prior to her ascent to host the Elden Ring and become a god? I may be forgetting, but what dialog or item specifically says how she came to power?
It seems to me that we just think this based on the fact that the Two Fingers assented to her rule and the Golden Order.
You said Goldmask not knowing of empyreans would mean he lacks knowledge on how the Golden Order functions. I'm saying empyreans aren't meant to be part of the Golden Order's function at all.
It's not but if you squint at the lore to both souls and this game then you can say they're tangibly related. Mostly they just share some similar themes which can mostly just be pinned on sharing similar creators.
I know of two writers who got together for a collaborative book series and they both reused themes, names, and concepts from their other work so I'd go "ok this character was made by this guy, but his purpose in the story is the other guy's idea".
>believing sneks
Let's face it almost all endings are you being manipulated.
The only one I could argue is you doing your own shit is
Usurpation of Fire in DS3 and even then Londor kinda makes you do it.
Staying in your cell in DS1 is the big brain move if you don't wanna be anyone's puppet.
Because the GW needs it's loyal tarnished to have a place of operations to achieve their tasks of fixing the ring.
Why would she risk fighting something that can permanently kill her when it's safely locked away?
maybe you didn't kill maliketh
you don't kill rennala either, maybe maliketh is just put out of comission for a while until you steal his rune
Remembrance of the Black Blade.
>Maliketh was a shadowbound beast given to his Empyrean. Marika's sole need of her shadow was a vessel to lock away Destined Death.
It’s a fun mental exercise but there’s nothing definitive. All the Souls games have similar themes and imagery so they’re easy to connect.
I don't think the corpse on the tower is Ranni.
It carries the Witch set, which is supposed to be Ranni's mentor
>"kill" someone in ER
Doesn't work. That's why evergaols are a thing.
So why did Marika destroy the Elden Ring? Was she trying to split away from the Greater Will and shit? So is she actually the good guys?
>Renalla is a queen.
Renalla didn't control the Elden Ring, and wasn't a chosen empyrean. GEQ clearly did and explicitly was.
>No proof of that. You assume this because she has the Rune of Death, but the idea that the Rune of Death came from the Elden Ring itself is an assumption, not a fact, and the idea that (even if it did) she took it from the ring herself is an assumption, not a fact. You have nothing definitive.
We're directly told that Marika had the Rune of Death removed from the Elden Ring, therefore when the GEQ controlled it, she controlled the Ring.
>If anything this is proof they do speak for the GW, not proof against it, as Enia has witnessed it happen before.
Yes, but we don't know when. For all we know the Fingers have been in [appear offline] for the entirety of Marika's rule.
i thought ranni destroyed her body completely, there shouldn't even be a corpse left
Greater Will is also like million light years away busy fucking with other worlds.
That's why the fingers take ages to receive simple direction from it.
went schizo from Godwyn dying.
>We're directly told that Marika had the Rune of Death removed from the Elden Ring
We're not. You fags constantly say this, there's no proof of it whatsoever, it's another assumption. If I'm wrong and retarded, show the damn proof. I'm sick of this stupid fucking argument.
ranni's corpse in the liurnian divine tower
The corpse on the divine tower has the cursemark, not the snow witch armour
Snow witch armour is in a chest
Marika glimpsed the truth behind the Golden Order (that it was created to enslave their world and siphon souls into the Elden Beast) and wanted to destroy it, unfortunately the GW disrupted her before she could fully shatter the Elden Ring.
>We're not. You fags constantly say this, there's no proof of it whatsoever, it's another assumption. If I'm wrong and retarded, show the damn proof. I'm sick of this stupid fucking argument
This but with
Nigger are you serious?
The witch set is in the other tower in a chest. It's in renna's tower. Ranni's corpse in the big tower has the death rune.
Does it have cute shotas like Sekiro?
Members of the order are Empyreans and it's not a hidden fact, the fingers chose Empyreans there's no way Goldmask has never heard the word.
Baited ;>
I got it mixed up IM SORRY
>the GW disrupted her before she could fully shatter the Elden Ring.
How so? What is the Great Will? What does it do?
If you try to kill Blaidd he'll respawn and tell you a shadow cannot die. Only after he goes berserk mode when Ranni kills the fingers does he actually stay dead. Maliketh is a shadow so seems he can't die either (or just shadows back to life or some shit).
>I'm saying empyreans aren't meant to be part of the Golden Order's function at all.
How is that possible if the Fingers choose them?
it's a fair mixup because you get to go to one right after the other.
are you asking whether marika herself removed the rune of death from the elden ring, or if the rune of death was removed from the elden ring at all?
if its the latter:
>The Rune of Death goes by two names; the other is Destined Death. The forbidden shadow, plucked from the Golden Order upon its creation...Unleashing the rune now would be unthinkable...The Fingers would never permit it. Nor would the Greater Will.
if the former, then its this
So what are Marika's ultimate goals. Gideon's mask talks about he's freaked out about it but from what I can tell, Marika is defeated until we get to her and only if we restore the Elden Ring. But even in the vanilla ending, we don't see her beside our character so I keep getting the impression that she's basically dead anyways despite us "restoring" the Elden Ring
Sends beasts with superpowers that can make people it choses gods.
Because Marika is a scheming whore and they wanted to replace her. That never means that was part of their original intentions otherwise she wouldn't be Queen Marika the Eternal.
The Greater Will is the Outer God that created the Elden Beast, Golden Order, and the Erdtree as a way to enslave everyone and siphon souls from the world to itself. It does this to countless worlds, hence the vision of the countless Erdtree ash lake in the final boss fight. The Fingers were a way for it to communicate its intent to the world which is why everyone devoted to the Golden Order follows the fingers.
Her goal was to break free of the Greater Will. She fails because we put both her and the ring back together in the default end.
I would assume ranni has been "alive" for a long while before we "the chosen tarnished" awoke and therefore she had a tryst with someone prior to us but they failed and died and that's why she is in her broken doll state.
Hopefully some DLC can shed more light on it. It will be interesting to see all the rannifags cry every thread and the ranni threads turning into ranni hate threads.
My theory is a jekyl and hyde situation with radagon. He's more loyal to the golden order and more of a puppet, she is slowly being erased by his existence and consumed. So she shatters the ring to try and keep from being erased.
there's lazy fucks in this thread who havent even read all the NPC dialogue
>she had a tryst with someone prior to us but they failed and died
According to you people she's super heartless but she'd still wear a memento of someone who super failed to her.
Being so contrarian isn't good for your health.
me
then I dumped her for the best waifu in the game
Speaking of Tarnished.
Are all Tarnished dead at the start? Like the Embers in DS3.
Or could they also be living Exiles that awaken to grace again.
The named ones like gideon sure seem like to be undead.
I always hate that you never know what normal live outside the "GOD LANDS" in these games is like.
Ranni's ending is the prequel to IRL that's why the stars are getting further away
The real question is: Is Rykard dead or is he really immortal as his wife says?
Why do you people hate Ranni so obsessively?
>then I dumped her for the best waifu in the game
also Ranni
This doesn’t even make sense in the context of her ring desu
*in japanese, hand translated by Myazaki himself
>THERE IS GOING TO BE A DLC THAT WILL REVEAL SHE HAS AN EX TRUST ME RANNIFAGS WILL TURN ON HER THEY'LL HATE HER TRUST THE PLAN
You might be a bit obsessed
SEETHING SIMPS
>dumped her for the best waifu in the game
Ranni Miniature?
All the ones in the intro are dead
cute snek
u n
t e
e k
No. But looks like you're.
>ranni (giantess)
>ranni (doll)
>ranni (onahole)
No one can compete with her.
The more you think about the plot and lore of this game, the less it makes sense. That's the truth. I imagine the DLC will muddle the matter even more instead of clearing things up. Trying to "decipher" this shitshow is a futile effort.
He clearly speaks to you from inside the snake, it seems like he could come back later
>cute unek
What did he mean by this?
>still no art of Ranni giving Blaid, (You),Iji, and Selivus a simultaneous handjob
Wtf
All Soulsbornes games are known that there is almost never a "good" ending.
If you had played more than one of them you would know that.
Remembrance of the Black Blade never says that Marika took it from the ring. The Gloam-Eyed Queen had it before the Golden Order. Marika sealed it in Maliketh after taking it from the Gloam-Eyed Queen. It never returns to the Elden Ring at any point. It being plucked from the Golden Order (the Golden Order is not the Elden Ring) is Maliketh being taken from Marika and locked away in Farum Azula, along with the rest of the beasts and dragons that are banished. If Marika stole it why would Enia the Finger Reader be the one calling it the forbidden shadow? Why would Marika take it from the GEQ, put it into the Elden Ring, then steal it from the Elden Ring to lock into Maliketh after? It makes no sense. You're still just working on assumptions.
>It is said that long ago, the Greater Will sent a golden star bearing a beast into the Lands Between, which would later become the Elden Ring.
Did the golden star become the Elden Ring, or did the beast become the Elden Ring? Or both
She'd need all 4 arms just for Iji.
VAATI IM GOING INSANE
The star was just a vehicle to transport the beast
I think Radagon's deal is way simpler than people make it to be. He comes back to fix the ring when Marika breaks it but is ultimately trapped in the tree by the GW as they are the same.
When you come along trying to fix the ring you find the erdtree blocked by Radagon's seal. He's keeping you out. Because he knows you are going in to kill him and become lord in his place. He wants to stay alive. He's not against the GW he is against you killing and replacing him.
The fingers go silent because they didn't plan for Radagon also not cooperating and have to consult the GW again.
I thought that was just because she was an Empyrean
`•.¸¸.•´´¯`••._.• sNєk •._.••`¯´´•.¸¸.•`
I mean you are barging in the front door to fuck his wife and him by extension after killing his wife's boyfriend and burning his lawn, it only makes sense he would be hostile
So then Malekith was to Marika what Blaidd is to Ranni? That's actually really interesting considering both Marika and Ranni both attempted to go against the Greater Will one way or another causing their "shadow" to freak out
So the Elden Beast is the embodiment of Order, and is also the Elden Ring, meaning that it's all the same thing then right? What's the relationship of the Crucible and Erdtree to the Elden Ring/Order
As user points out, it's not an assumption at all.
>the Golden Order is not the Elden Ring
Terminology is fucky on this, but in this instance "Golden Order" almost certainly refers to the Golden-Order-as-laws-of-reality (IE, yes, the Elden Ring), and not Golden-Order-as-organization.
>If Marika stole it why would Enia the Finger Reader be the one calling it the forbidden shadow? Why would Marika take it from the GEQ, put it into the Elden Ring, then steal it from the Elden Ring to lock into Maliketh after?
It's called the forbidden shadow because the Golden Order's ideology forbids it. Marika didn't take it from the GEQ, put it into the Elden Ring, then take it out and seal it with Maliketh, Marika took it from the Elden Ring that the GEQ previously controlled and had it sealed, creating the Golden Order and instituting herself as a eternal, deathless queen.
But I don't understand why that would bother Gideon or anyone so much. The implication with his character is that he knows at least as much as us, it's obvious the Greater Will is a control freak and was just using the Tarnished and its not like Marika's desire is anything close to as horrible as the Dung Eater or Lord of Frenzy
Does he actually respawn?
This game isn't getting DLC.
What I'm saying is that Radagon and the player are both on the Will's side wanting to fix the ring but Radagon is against you doing it through killing him.
lmao didn't read
>fuck his wife
It's a goddamn hollow rock dude, you're not fucking anything.
weird thing about maliketh is that presumably marika shattering the elden ring would activate his programming, but he doesnt seem to be trying to kill marika. And it seems his freaking out is coming from his hunger which I assume is from taking the rune of death into his body
It sold 12 mil copies and they announced they'll do more with the IP. It's getting DLC
lmao it's mad
He knows she just set up the tarnished on an impossible mission and that annoyed the shit out of him.
You can't kill a god and all that, and marika will keep doing it until someone cracks the code.
Sekiro was the only From game without DLC because it sucked ass
If my wife filtered you without 2 summons and an int respec just say so
Normie Shit:
>Gurrang is Maliketh
>Elden Ring is AY LMAO CODE
>Miquella is St Trina
>Marika is Radagon
>Merchants worhsip the frenzy
Deep Shit
> RANNI IS MELINA
> FINGERS ARE HANDS OF SLAIN DRAGONS
> SCARLET ROT IS TURNING YOU GAY
DEEP SHIT
>GODWYN IS A CRISIS ACTOR
>MELINA IS TORRENT
>DUNG EATER IS THE PLAYER CHARACTER
>RUNES DONT EXIST
>Alexander is Elden Lord
I'm still a lorelet who doesn't understand the Elden Beast. Like I thought the exact thing we're doing is the Greater Will's desire unless we have met the requirements for another ending. I don't see why the Greater Will would've intervened after we killed Radagon.
the greater will isn't around at the moment, they're either far way, or have forsaken the lands, or both
i think the elden beast is just acting in self defense
>Dung eater is (You)
Rundown. Now.
Lmao this nigga is GAY
>DUNG EATER IS THE PLAYER CHARACTER
close but no cigar, the elden ring audience is the dung eater.
by keep playing these games we embrace the ruinous nostalgia the earlier games warned about
(You) eat shit
Ranni fumo when?
>Terminology is fucky on this, but in this instance "Golden Order" almost certainly refers to the Golden-Order-as-laws-of-reality (IE, yes, the Elden Ring)
No. The Elden Ring alone is not the Golden Order. The Golden Order is the Elden Ring with Marika as host and vessel. She is an integral part of it that even the Two Fingers cannot eject her, that even she knows shattering the ring will shatter her (says this to Radagon in the bedchamber). That's what the Golden-Order-as-laws-of-reality is, not just the ring alone. This means being plucked from the Golden Order can be read as plucked from Marika too.
>Marika took it from the Elden Ring that the GEQ previously controlled
There is no proof that GEQ previously hosted the ring. You can't 'prove' one assumption with another assumption. The very idea that she was a former host to her own order is fucking retarded when you think about how little information there is on her and her conflict with Marika considering so much exists detailing the conflicts with the giants and dragons. This is absurd and you are absurd.
Elden Beast != Greater Will
It's just an Avatar he left there to watch over the world. I assume the GW is so far removed all action he takes, will need centuries to be implemented.
The Beast was programmed to adhere to certain rules (like Tarnished being no good for being lord).
Marika set up the tarnished, made them fight to weed out the week and then upset the order.
>DUNG EATER IS THE PLAYER CHARACTER
always has been
But it's an Outer God essentially already claiming her as it's vessel, like if the Formless Mother just said "Ok, then Miquella is mine" when he was born. Why was the God of Rot just able to lay claim to baby Malenia?
the dungeater says he realized you are him at some point, I prefer this interpretation tho:
We are doing the Greater Will's desire which is to restore the ring and order. Killing radagon for the rest of the ring and getting control of the beast ourselves.
>imo Alexander “eats” Radahn
Wait what the fuck?
Why didn't they just put Godwyn in a jar?
the Elden Beast is just like the Two Fingers in that it's merely serving the GW
How it does so is what differs
it's just timeline autism
Elden Ring is its own thing
You literally see him eating his corpse after the battle, to become stronger
AYO THIS NIGGA EATING GODS
If you complete alexander's questline up to him being broken in the duel his shard description says it has remnants of "red hair" within it. You can also even see it on the icon
my wife
The least shitty person in the game
In the same vein you would assume Blaidd would activate when Ranni kills herself/Godwyn and starts cursing the fingers, yet he remains loyal to her. The whole shadow thing is retarded.
I had assumed that it's claws were already in her because of the curse/rot that resulted from being an inbred
more than just radahn
The English version calling it the Golden Order is needlessly confusing, Golden Order should just mean the Elden Ring and associated concepts, not also the organization that studies it and is loyal to it. In the Japanese, they use fundamentalist, which the English version also uses, but leaves out in some items, like the golden order sword
initially he only eats nondescript warriors of the shattering, but when you kill him you get his shard which says the following:
Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem.
inshallah brother
Considering all the shit we had to go through to get to Marika, I wonder if Malekith is the way he is because he can't get to Marika? Or Marika is considered already dead to the Greater Will? Technically we just fight Radagon, right?
I've not tried it myself but a lot of people say so and no-one's called them liars yet so I assume it's the case.
For the Marika was behind the black knifes argument, the biggest clue hides in Malekeths item descriptions
>Maliketh was a shadowbound beast given to his Empyrean. Marika's sole need of her shadow was a vessel to lock away Destined Death. Even then, she betrayed him.
>Maliketh was GIVEN to Marika, just like Ranni is given Blaidd by the Greater Will as a shadow that makes sure she stays in check
>SHE betrayed HIM, not the other way by him failing to protect the rune
"Even then," implies some time passing, that originally Destined Death was sealed in Maleketh for the reason stated. For eternal life. But later Marika found the truth about Greater Will, that it was all a plot by Outer Gods to feed on the souls that get absorbed into the erdtree. Or she simply doesn't want to be controlled anymore but this is the boring answer.
So she starts dealing with The Golden Order from the inside
She possibly exiles Godfrey for this reason and severed his connection with the Greater Will, making him tarnished
She plots with Ranni to steal a piece of the rune of death from her shadow that would not agree to give it back for such a purpose, to grant her freedom from the Greater Will and with great sorrow kills Golden Jesus
She then shatters the Elden Ring to weaken the Greater Will even more and is at that point or at some later point stabbed by the black knife assassin we can find outside of her bedchamber (which is why she has a red mark on her, the Elden Beast having a crack at the same spot), probably with consent, but it fails to kill the Elden BEast
She is then crucified to the erdtree by some servant of Greater Will, maybe by the Elden Beast or Radagon within her
Still not dead, just trapped inside the Erdtree in a shattered form she sends out her grace to touch the player to finish the job
I killed him on the spot after this
It rubbed me the wrong way several times over
Jesus fucking Chirst.
First scarlet aids then eaten by a fucking jar.
Gravity nigga can't catch a break lol.
>GODWYN IS A CRISIS ACTOR
What the fuck is this even supposed to mean, nigga was murdered in the promos and he's murdered in the intro
Putting Radahn in the Living Jar.
>You're... you're strong of arm. But ask yourself... What harm can be done... to a shadow?
I always took this more as a "who cares about me as long as Ranni is fine" more than a literal "I'll just revive lol"
>GET IN THE FUCKING JAR RADAHN
marika's betrayal of maliketh has to be either shattering the elden ring, or stealing death from him, or both
>Marika...Is this...what it is...to sin? Will things...never be the same...again?
>O Marika...What happened? Was I...myself the fool? Or was I tricked...by thee?
>O Marika...Why wouldst thou...relinquish...Why...
>Forgive me, Marika...The Golden Order...cannot be restored.
>Marika...why...wouldst thou...gull me Why...shatter...
Why? If anything he’s putting chadhan out of his AIDSROT misery
based post
He wears Solaire armour, the most popular NPC in DS1
Technically it goes even further because you gives Alexander's innards to his nephew Jar-Bairn so he is now mixed in a young warrior jar along with Diallos Hoslow's remains.
>>Forgive me, Marika...The Golden Order...cannot be restored.
this is the weirdest line for me, why would he ask Marika to forgive him for not being able to restore the Golden Order, when Marika was the one who shattered it to begin with
Which character has the biggest butt?
No I mean people say he revives, like actually respawns after that. Fuck it I'll try it out myself later.
I'm too busy right now for another lore thread, just gonna pop in to remind everything that there is no "outer god of rot", Malenia is the origin or rot, the rot worshippers are cultists, the fairy-swordsman legend is a lie.
this is a good post
Marika sent a tarnished to kill Maliketh
How does the Rune economy work in this shitty world? Why is there no lore of this. You can buy things with Runes, but what kind of currency is it? Is it backed by any hard asset? Is it something you can eat (since you give it to hungry merchants who themselves have meats to eat)?
so who was this guy
So who is the Godess of Rot that is sealed away in the lake of rot?
Malenia only becomess godess after popping her form thrice.
Once in the Swamp of Aeonia, once in Haligtree, once in Haligtree mid combat
They're like souls, food, power to make yourself stronger and currency, all of it
I think it’s him breaking his programming and realizing her will. Grammatically, I assume the ellipses also acts as a period in the context of the sentence. He’s asking for forgiveness because he now sees how the Golden Order was broken and how he helped via being a finger shadow keep the status quo in check.
Maliketh/Gurranq is unfortunately the biggest example of Zanzibart in the game, he just makes implications like a fucking redacted SCP article without actually saying anything.
>more headcanon
So what was the point of sending the tarnished to become Elden Lord, only to refuse entrance at the end with zero explanation? Simply because the Greater Will wanted the shard bearers to die and that's it?
Forgive me that I let someone steal a piece of the RoD and kill your son and now things will never be the same.
Marika... forgive me...
>No. The Elden Ring alone is not the Golden Order.
The Elden Ring is the Order itself, IE the laws of reality. Marika doesn't necessarily need to be it's host and vessel, as is plainly obvious with the fact that the Fingers were getting ready to replace her.
>This means being plucked from the Golden Order can be read as plucked from Marika too.
>plucked from the Golden Order upon its creation
I think you're glossing over the "upon it's creation" part. Whether the Ring was already in Marika and then she took the RoD out, or if she was just about to become it's host and she took the RoD out before that, either way taking the RoD out of the Elden Ring was integral to the creation of the Golden Order, IE the current ordering of the laws of reality.
>There is no proof that GEQ previously hosted the ring.
I think you're being willfully ignorant not to think so. GEQ was a chosen empyrean, the Rune of Death was plainly part of the Elden Ring before the creation of the Golden Order, the only logical conclusion to draw from this is that the GEQ controlled the Ring before Marika.
Otherwise you get into batshit territory like "GEQ actually controlled Marika with Death inside her herself."
malenia's teacher was some marais knight
there's no god of rot sealed in the lake
Your brain is rotten...
Queen Marika.
He does
Radagon refuses you entrance, it's his seal on the door. Because he doesn't want to get killed.
Shit headcannon, blue dancer charm and the stinger dagger fucks your mom at night, maidenless + touch grace + get mohg’d
Erdtree is the machine that the Greater Will god wants to build. To feed the god with souls or for some other grand plan. During the Elden Beast fight we can see hundreds of erdtrees all around us, implying this is happening across the universe.
The Elden Beast carries inside of it/is the Elden Ring and the Order is basically the software code within the Elden Ring that defines how the world will work. A great erdtree will rise, like in all the other worlds to do...something of benefit for the Greater Will.
The Crucible seems like some actually primordial energy in the universe, while the Elden Ring is a machination created and used by powerful beings known as Outer Gods. Since we know directly from item descriptions that the crucible is the primordial form of the erdtree and that it existed before the erdtree stood in our world, I'd imagine it's some natural force used by Greater Will to raise the erdtree. Since we know that during the age of the dragon elden lord there was no erdtree and the dragons didn't serve the Greater Will.
Side note: Miquellas Halitree was an attempt at creating another Erdtree and Miquella fed it his blood. What was the big Erdtree fed to make it grow? Souls? But after the Destined Death was taken out, all the souls were reborn from the tree after death. Did it take a part of their souls to grow? Was the Destined Death suppose to be part of the tree so the Greater Will could take those souls?
