There wasn't really any drama per se. Basically one day he stopped doing game reviews and started uploading video advertisements for shitty t-shirts and drawing books. Everyone was confused because they thought his account got hacked but he disabled comments on all of his videos so no one knew what was going on.
He used to have an explanation section for it on his website but it looks like he took that section down. Basically a lot of failed business plans that didn't amount to anything because he didn't listen to the people that actually watched his content.

I'm surprised no one else really does CGR style game reviews anymore. Nowadays everyone has to hyperautistically analyze every aspect of a game in order to highlight what is and isn't "good game design." that whole unscripted style of reviewing got buried with CGR. I guess that's what makes Gen X and millennials different.

I think the younger generations need to feel that games are 'important' and not, you know, toys.

CGR was great for what it was. A surface level touch on a game that was maybe 5 minutes at most. I never thought I'd say this, but Youtube removing their 10 minute video limit all those years ago was a mistake.

This guy was absolutely loaded from daddy's money, and he was getting bored of talking about video games. The only problem was not letting Undertow continue it.

Started back when addpocalypse happened.
Basically he couldn't make money from ads and he was about to stop videos. Fans suggest Patreon, which he do. It was good, good money and did a lot more reviews. Still feel something wrong though, he wasn't the same. He still talk about ad money which he didn't have anymore. At the same time he try to shilling his comic book, it didn't work. He tried a podcast, I'm no even sure it went over episode 2. Then suddenly your main page was full of ad for t-shirt and shits. That's where I stopped. He just went crazy and trying to do anything else than reviewer games. Guess it was boring for him.

But really, his comic book, podcast, t-shirt were fucking shit. Even there, comic book doesn't work even when they're good.

Sadly, another comfy video game channel was killed, just like that.

It's really weird. The music is his music. The channel is filled with like 3 different albums that he uploaded recently. The podcast is his podcast and the channel also mass uploaded a bunch of episodes of it recently too. The whole "podcast" is just the camera pointed at his computer monitor while he briefly talks about his music and then clicks play on one of his songs and sits there in silence listening to it. Even though all of the songs are already on his channel as video uploads. He's trying to shill his music, his podcast about his music and a bunch of books, many of which are public domain like you mentioned, and he's doing it all at the same exact time in a minute long youtube video with 100 views.
