Grappler needs 2 good reads in neutral to get in on Crusader before he can shit on him. Crusader's actual bad matchups are Dragon Knight, Ranger, and Ghostblade; maybe Hitman as well but a good Hitman was extremely rare in either beta.

10000 years of recovery on whiff, 5000 years on block if he doesn't cancel into Wall. Not as disjointed as it looks, actual disjoints and armored/invincible moves can catch it from shockingly far.

Crusader is High Tier but he's got a few clearly losing matchups and pretty clear counterplay so he's not Top. People think he's OP because his archetype thrives on mistakes and 99% of people don't fully understand the game yet so they WILL make mistakes.

Kunoichi has some interesting neutral and lockdown with her different jutsus that she can fill screen space with before teleporting behind you, Hitman is a whiff punish monster with good pressure and no gimmick until he's in Awakening (but that gimmick is strong).

If Grappler is not directly in front of your face he's the worst character. Beyond that, I think every character has enough shit to consider them playable despite bad matchups (unless they have no bad matchups, like Ghostblade seems to).

I found a crusader who was doing some super wack stuff into apocalypse oki and it was pretty fucked up, if you try to roll out he can throw you back into it for like 50%

I barely used Apocalypse compared to Repetence Hammer when in the install. The latter does a lot of guard damage and on hit prevents jumping but Apoc seems way stronger if you can get a setup.

People complaining about lack of over heads and mix options on some characters don't understand that the offense game for those characters is guard breaks. as a rangerchad he does not need an over head imo since I do 70% of your guard on block with frame traps, where I'm out of your alpha counter range, and if you don't get out on that gap I get to guard break you for 40% plus whatever chip you held

Never played DFO but this game feels super open and interesting in spite of its simplicity, which is that 8ing touch I've been missing for over a decade in this genre. Button block in DNF increases guard gauge damage taken so it's objectively worse unless you're getting left-right shmixed. However, there is Guard Braking which should be important in neutral for some characters.

I think vanguard needs a buf to the amount of guard damage he deals.
Ranger can get pike 70% guard damage off in one block string while vanny boy only gets like a quarter.

Vanguard gets more guard damage in Awakening, which I guess is because they think he'd be too good at getting breaks if he had that all the time given his normal range, but yeah he's just not scary to block as it stands, I feel like you can get in on him by Guard-braking over and over.

Ranger kind of needs guard damage if he has no overheads but I would rather give him a standing overhead on that pistol whip and lower the guard damage.

Played the last beta and tried this one again. I simply don't enjoy how the game feels and plays. I usually am able to find some fun in every fighting game but this one just isn't clicking. Despite that I hope it keeps a good player count post release and anons that like this style of fighter have a lot of a fun for a while.

Also the fact that 90% of the attacks in this game work as anti airs so why also make jumping slow as shit on top? If every move clips you out of the air, then you should be able to block.
Game is filled with weird decisions like that though which is why I'm skipping.

I hate Ench/Ghostblade/Spectre/Assault because they made all of their designs at the same time and there's no difference between base/1/2/3A basically. IT'S GAY
No, everyone else caught up, then they made Spectre and she was the top tier DPS, then they nerfed all of Spectre's skills by like 5~6% in Korea while buffing the characters that used to be Synergy by 8% and then gave everyone the usual "+7% more damage on every skill that matters" in the last balance patch so she's not as good.

The moment you get to level 100 and start the gear treadmill things will immediately start punching you back. You will not do 3+3 or 2+2 solo until you get for legendaries or epics.

No, there's barely info about the game in general for some reason. With the new beta we only got confirmation of a release date, box art, and participation in ArcRevo.

But, I don't see them saying no if it's on the table. ArcSys just got it into Strive so I'm hoping they make it standard like the rollback is.

No confirmation. Normally I'd tell you that you're dreaming, but Strive just got crossplay and Arcsys seems to be making Strive and DNF their joint esports games in the future so I think it's actually not impossible

Paladins are nifty. I'm messing around with one myself, and all their AoE's and utility make them fun.

Personally I recommend playing a few classes and see what you like. If you don't like them after their awakening (level 50), then play another. Classes rarely get huge changes after level 50 that dramatically change the way they play (Exceptions being Kunoichi, Battlemage, and Avenger)

Every time there has been a PC fighting game beta test the game has been datamined to hell and back so they're probably trying to avoid that.

Well I think F Mages are supposed to be older than they look, but no. Not as one of the playable classes anyway. There are a lot of big titty older women but we usually end up killing them.

If you like F Mistress, I'd also suggest trying out Male Priest Avenger. The demon transformation at level 50 dramatically changes the class and turns you into a rip and tear murderbeast.
