>Sly created furries

No, but they dud add fire to the fuel by making such quality anthros.

Uh, no, it was all the goddamn porn.

What was wrong with "Cooper" in Europe?

i too am curious

Disney created flurries was before the PlayStation was a concept

Maybe it's too close to copper as in cop?

There hasn't been a Sly game in seven years.

If you want to blame anything, blame renamon.

I would guess they changed it to prevent people from missreading it as co-op and think the game has co-op when it doesn't

"I might have gone too far in a few places"

-Osamu tezuka

Had an influence on my bf since it's one of those games that got yuropean voice overs. Swedish in specific.
Always found that a bit weird, translating vidya like you would a kid's show. Spyro is the only other game I can think of that did that. I wonder if they still do it.

Poland here, we had tons of game dubs in the 90s/early 00s. And not for kiddy cartoon stuff either, it was Diablo, Baldur's Gate, Leisure Suit Larry and so on.

this is true. Started with renamon tits, ended with fapping to buff dragons with fat cocks.

For me, it was Coco Bandicoot.

Apprently "Copper" is british slang for policemen but I've also found this
>Cooper
>Also called: hooper a person skilled in making and repairing barrels, casks, etc
dictionary.com/browse/cooper
So yeah perhaps it doesn't have the same sound as in American English.
I got all of them and actually never noticed it was called "Sly racoon". I just refer them as "Sly games".
Plenty of games have French/Spanish/German/Italian dubs but I guess that makes sense given the dubbig culture (and the bigger populations)

I just find the Swedish thing weird in particular, since they bother dubbing kid's games even with the small population. I know bigger countries with an established dubbing culture can easily do it for everything.
The Poland thing helps explain why they're so into those classics.

Furries are the result of being exposed to anthro characters at an early age, just ask any self-confessed furry and how watching Don Bluth films or Digimon ended up affecting them

I'm sure cooper might be understood to europeans for the occupation rather than just as a last name, but he was named Cooper because of the rings on his tail

It started with boomers making fun of Disney characters, sometimes with sex jokes. Then the sex part stopped being a joke.

Perhaps because it's just expected due to a competent education system than teenagers are fine with subs, whereas children can have trouble reading subtitles fast enough.
He actually is called cooper in game. Then again we'd have to ask a brit directly.
Then again sometimes localization just do thing because.

He was named Cooper by the devs I mean. In-universe it's just his family surname

>It started with some caveman making cave paintings of people with animal heads
>It started with egyptians writing gay fanfics about animal head people fucking and cumming in salads
>it started with Robin Hood making my pp hard etc.
I guess it depends on whether you mean furry culture or weirdos wanting to fuck animal people

I watched Digimon at an early age and it didn't affect me, and I think people are massively overstating Sly's impact in this thread, now Krystal on the other hand...

>Buy game called Sly Cooper expecting a barrel making sim
>Get a platformer with light stealth elements instead
Thanks Sucker Punch

Imagine seeing this as a kid

We just let our kids play games in English, though games these days have been getting more text translations since you can just add stuff in a patch and have other people translate during their free time. I certainly did fine and I probably learned more because of it.

is it me or were only millenials and genxers from the anglosphere that were exposed to this? I pretty much know no one outside of english speaking countries that saw Don Bluth things or these shitty direct to video sequels or stuff like Fern Gully.

My girlfriend likes this movie a lot and I always think this. The 80s and 90s were a crazy time for tv and movies to instill some crazy fetishes. Just saw Oliver and Company for the first time in years and the scene with the dog doing a strip-tease was something that I both didn't remember and was extremely confused by

Wait a minute... Could it mean....?

Attached: file.png (1280x720, 1.41M)

well, cartoons still instill fetishes, but they are worse than what we had back then, such as the fart smelling scene in the lion guard and whatever the fuck big mouth is

Sly V when? I mean for fucks sake I thought with Crash doing well there was going to be a resurgence of past series

I feel like the 90s were a lot more hardcore about tf/giant/sexualizing feral animals than the present. Maybe my problem is I got nothing wrong with finding a human with some animal bits sexy, but shit like inflation and getting turned on by someone getting turned into a latex suit is high octane degeneracy.

Ah beg your pardon, I thought that you thought that he was called "Sly Racoon" in game in the localization.
Yeah it happened here too, especially in the SNES era outside of the big release. It helped me a lot too when learning english.

Space Jam and Goofy probably made furries

You are also ignoring Sonic who is like the grandaddy of furry autists

It was cartoons actually zoomer.

maybe so, but I was recently appaled by an inflation scene in Bunnycula which was followed by quite a lenghty burping sequence. I can't quite put my finger on it but that show made me feel uneasy, like it was specifically made to cater to fetishists, and I'm used to seeing all kinds of furry shit.

also, when do we start confessing which scenes from cartoons or games made us feel funny?

I have legitimately felt funny because of Mew in the 1998 Pokemon movie
I'd fuck her today, yes.

I may have not been exposed to them, but I have yet to meet a fellow Sly chad who is a furry. I think you can mostly blame Starfox, Spacejam, Goofy and Crash to an extent on that.

No, Digimon Tamers did it.

if i had to guess it'd be to tie it in more to older well-established animal mascot platform franchises like crash and sonic, the character's name and their species. definitely a weird kinda pointless localisation change though

Europe is no stranger to weird localizations.

star fox, definitely, Space Jam maybe, but normies think Lola is hot too, as for Crash and Goofy, Yea Forumsshitters and Coconiggers are just a loud minority and don't really represent a large group, I can say from personal experience that the ammount of Coco and Tawna porn before N-Sane trilogy released was minimal and in the case of the trophy girls it was borderline non-existent

for me it's the wardrobe malfunction scene when Tom was trying to direct an orchestra while Jerry was screwing with him or that one scene in which Babs makes out with Buster if anyone has them, post them

Renamon or Guilmon never made me feel funny as a wee lad, but the clothes ripping sequences during the matrix evolutions and the featureless naked bodies of Rika, Takato and Henry in the later episodes of the show did.

For me, it was Krystal.

Attached: krystal.png (1456x1572, 249K)

I've watched so much shit with anthros as a kid that I don't even know who did it first.

Remember me?

Attached: iu.png (320x240, 94K)

Robin Hood... Maid Marian... Ungh, what I wouldn't give for a no-holds-barred one night stand with her.

Furries have been around for much longer than you think
They only became visible with the internet
youtu.be/oRIyw-pJkUk

The concept of anthropomorphism is as old as humanity itself. The "subculture" that we see now was created in the 80's but depiction of animal characters in media goes way back to the 1800s. Tezuka is based though

After Sanzaru Games being bought out by Facebook? Most likely never.

Yes he is.
But i think his work still did spread the whole weeb/furry shit around japan at least.

Attached: tezuka astroboyed.jpg (2556x1862, 710K)

I blame Lion King and Balto.

Disney's Fantasia was the reason.

I wouldn't put that much stock on feralshit, most people don't fall for it that easily, anthros are a much easier pill to swallow.

No, it was this game.

Attached: Quest_for_Glory_2.jpg (636x320, 175K)

Pretty much, I guess. All kemono art even nowadays has that Tezuka touch.

this picture is misleading as fuck, most of the censored stuff isn't actually censoring anything

>Digimon
>not liking that shoulder/armpit tease

Attached: 1539800803228.jpg (530x1345, 94K)

I had to be goddamn sure because christian board

>wanting the gloves off

Shit taste.

pokemon probably made more people furries than anything else

How'd they manage that, user?

Attached: McFlurry_MMs.png (450x305, 92K)

Good. 3 was a proper end to the trilogy and 4 was a fucking disaster. If they can't get the same team back for it then it's best to leave it dead.

I'd argue Pokemon wasn't furry until gen 4 when Lucario and Lopunny were introduced, so most of the people that grew up with the first generations weren't affected, wouldn't know about zoomers with blatant furbait like Braixen though, but an unovabortion zoomer told me zoroark was his first waifu so you might be on to something. That said, where do white women that want to fuck feral dogs like Arcanine fall in this category? Did they get into the series with gen 1 or later on?

>white women fuck dogs
Where does this meme come from

YES

pokemon was a slow spreading of the disease like how you play pandemic properly by appearing mostly benign to get that fanbase built up before sexualizing the characters to induce full-on furry syndrome

Niggers are jealous because we like our pets more than them.
