I’ve had sfv installed for a while now but never get around to playing it since it seems like it has decently high learning curve for someone like me who doesn’t play fighters. What would y’all recommend to get better, just hop in online and get my ass whupped until I get good or should I put in 100s of hours in practice

Go in training mode to at least learn what all the buttons do, then go online immediately to break your cherry. Try to learn at least a couple very simple combos and then one big punish combo to do when the other guy fucks up bigly and whiffs a dp or something. Should be plenty of tutorial videos out there for whichever character you want.

If its your first fighting game training mode wont be much use to you, best way is just to play and try to pick up what you can, once you have a feel for the game and your character then you can hit training mode and tr learning some stuff

its a really bad game. It's all guessing confined into easy to digest gigantic windows of opportunity that even the dumbest retard on earth can take advantage of. You do a blockstring against a guy and he could quite literally accidentally block the first hit of the string then spend the next 2 seconds repeatedly mashing an EX shoryuken then as soon as your blockstring ends you eat shit.

probably the worst gameplay loop in all of fighting games and virtually nothing feels legitimate, and of the few legitimate things in the game, they're vastly less efficient than the fraudulent gaping mouthbreathing retard tactics.

Once you hit Super Diamond you're playing against the same pool of players as anyone above you, so your rank is 10% your win rate and 90% how much time you spend grinding.

Also, Broski is only Warlord because he plays a gimmick character that online scrubs don't know how to deal with but actual good players completely shit on.

Try going into your graphic's cards settings, look for SFV and check if there's an energy/power performance setting and see if it isn't set to max.

That shit happened to me with my Nvidia card and because it was in a "power efficiency" mode it messed with SFV for some reason.
