No? Why would I be? With the current state of Konami? Fuck no. The last """good""" Silent Hill game was Shattered Memories.

I think he's referring to the years of silence, the P.T blunder and SH casino machines
I unironically enjoyed Downpour too, never really understood the hate

Konami really needs to step it up to compete with REmake 2. I think about to the early SH games and they had very slow paced melle combat, with a lot of emphasis on large blunt weapons. Wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I'd like to see a return to slow clunky combat unironically... but in a more modern soulslike design.

It got shifted on because the devs didnt know how to use unreal 3. Made the framerate and graphics horrible. Thank god all the patches saved it. I cant really blame the devs for it since it was one of the their first games I think

Okay here's my proposal for a Silent Hill Game
>play as Fed agent from Washington
>has case looking for kidnapped girl of politician
>protagonist is an alcoholic and substance user because first few years was analyzing frame by frame videos of confiscated devices
>watched nothing but the most depraved child porn, snuff films and torture videos over and over to capture every frame and try to find the victims and suspect facial identity or clues of location for cross referencing
>get a lead in the backwoods of Maine, a Resort Town from cross referencing a Hotel sign
>also given files of multiple people go missing completely in this town
>goal is to find perpetrator, make an arrest and find kidnapped daughter preferably still alive
Already have mental anguish to be pulled into the Otherworld because no normal human could still be okay after viewing whatever sick shit the Feds confiscate in devices.

Yeah. The blame should've been shifted to Konami who keeps fucking around with the ip and giving it to new studios. I know Homecoming suffered the same rate but that was also the devs not really understanding what SH should be like

Some good SH news though; Silent Hill 2 enhanced edition has added soft and self shadows back into the PC version. It's now the best way to play the game (the audio and fog quality is still a little bit worse, but it's hardly noticeable).
