Well, okay, Arin wasn't AS BAD in the Jon days as he would become, but seeing him later then going back showed me that he definitely still had these inclinations to be unfunny, beg for attention, act like a retard, etc. Jon helped keep him in check but it wasn't infalliable, Jon wouldn't always call him out on his shit or force him down to earth. It's definitely better in the Jon days but I think it somehow was quite a bit less good than I remember it being. In my memories every episode was funny, but going back, I guess I grew up to the point where I didn't find it that funny anymore (mind you I was already near the end of high school when I started watching Game Grumps).
Just as a side note, some of those Game Grumps remixes are still fun and a good time even if I struggle to get through even one episode of the actual channel nowadays.

I've gone back to watch some classic JonGrumps and I still find it quite funny. I think OneyPlays has transcended all content ever put on Game Grumps, but JonGrumps will always have a special place in my heart. I always find it enjoyable and funny.

This, after being subjected to new GG I can't stand even old Arin. It boggles my mind how often he will get into an argument with Jon and be factually incorrect, and yet he will absolutely insist with every fiber of his being that he is right. He will just refuse any other way of seeing it to the point where Jon will begin agreeing with him, even though Jon was right to begin with, so now they're both wrong. And it's not the fact that he's spreading misinformation that bothers me, it's how confident and insistent he is in his unintelligence, where he's like "of course I'm right, how could you ever think I'm wrong, what are you stupid?" Being incredibly stupid and having a massive ego as he does is not a good combination.

I rewatched some of Ego's old cartoons a few years back too and none of them were funny either, so it's likely just a product of the time more than anything.
