Tekken is by far the most tilting game in the planet >5.000 gimmicks (I wish this was an exaggeration) >shitty online >throw system is a broken gimmick until you hit 1.000 hours and start seeing the hands >bullshit characters like Hwoarang with 230 moves which all look the same and multiple stances >most characters are annoying as fuck to fight against
I've broken a screen and a keyboard playing this game, and used to punch myself in the face when I lost.
i think you should try to fix whatever else is wrong in your life. when i get shit on too hard i want to kill myself every time. it's not the games fault tho, i think.

just keep at it. i promise you there is not a single character without a gimmick in this game even the one you play but if you can bbackdash or sidestep you can make a lot of them not effective. if certain characters are blowing you up hit the lab and use the punishment trainer to see if any of their pressure is real or if your letting them get away with stuff. a rule of thumb for characters like hwoarang is to dickpunch or down jab when you BLOCK something, never on hit. just dont do it too much or you can get low parried. your going to get your ass kicked a lot by hardstuck low ranks but thats normal. this is my first tekken, ive been playing since launch and i finally reached fujin yesterday. that said dont let your rank own you.
that's quite impressive if it's your first tekken. how many hours played?
Aaron Gutierrez
well over a thousand hours but i play in chunks and go a couple weeks without playing

>start seeing the hands
Is this a tekken meme, and can someone explain it/the lore behind it to me
Tyler Morales
no

Tekken 7 is by far the worst with the 2d guest characters, I can't wait for T8 which will hopefully get rid of them.
They need to cut most of the new characters and bring back some old favorites (kuni, bruce, jun).
I would rather the roster be around 40 characters at most, and move lists need some refining because they have gotten so bloated.
Ian Ramirez
historically tekken throws were broken depending on the hand that grabbed you. left hand first = 1 break. right hand = 2 break. both hands equals pressing 1 and 2 together, a 1+2 break. tekken seven for the most part got rid of this and any throw other than command throws can be broken with 1 or 2 while certain command throws require seeing the hands. i dont do any of this shit since my reactions are fucked. i just guess and pray i hit the right one
Juan Anderson
tekken 7 is the best tekken of all time and it's not even close

i honestly believe that 2ds wont come back since they have had an almost purely negative reception. as for characters getting cut no matter who it is people will be upset. i would hate for any version of raven to not appear in the next game and since its literally the only character i play it would be hard to move to another character unless they add kunimitsu

OP is a noob retard. You dont actually look at the hands, you look at the entire character. With a 1 grab, the character moves his entire torso and its very easy to see. With a 2 grab, he moves his arm forward, and with a 1+2 he barely moves.
Ryan Parker
What rank are you, Op? I agree tekken can be quite stressful, and it's a hard game to get into but you need to work on anger management. Violent outbursts like that are not ok.
Sebastian Parker
I feel like 90% of players are just breaking throws due to trying to throw out random jabs. If they did see a throw coming they would be duck and punishing instead.

That's pretty good. If you watch people streaming tekken you'll see a lot of people get mad at the game no matter the rank. So it's up to you to handle your character, I don't think there comes a point in the game when the frustration disappears. It needs to happen within you.
Asher Foster
Yeah.
Honestly if I wasn't terrible at the game genetically I wouldn't get so angry.
For instance when starting it took me 500 hours to get to greens, and now I'm still Mighty Ruler after 1500.
I think I can improve past this level but it will take a hell of a long time.
Don't care as much as I've migrated to other games that are less tilting at this point.
>gimmicks >shitty online >throws are bullshit >infuriating mixups >annoying characters
Have you tried literally any other fighting game, OP? Most also have all of this.
Joshua Howard
would you say they're more or less annoying than tekken 7?
Jacob Ramirez
Those are pantyhose you retard.

Tekken 7 is a predictable follow-up to a series that's never aimed particularly high, it may please casual gamers for a day or two but the stagnant ongoing series is definitely in the second tier of fighters way below Capcom or NetherRealm Studios games, and it's seriously getting old and tired. The lack of depth and subtlety and the emphasis on the offensive, rather than the defensive, puts this squarely two notches below the best in the genre, the "who-can-get-their-super-move-off-first" gameplay leaves much to be desired from a serious fighting game player. Like the prequels, Tekken 7 is geared towards casual gamers and anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, DoA and MK games have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

You don't know true fear until you've fought a Mexican diamond rank Rainbow Mika in Street Fighter

>I've broken a screen and a keyboard playing this game, and used to punch myself in the face when I lost. you have bigger problems than a fighting game.
