Really, I had to google "yellow handheld with crank".

Is this a happy meal toy?

Somebody needs to improve on handcrank technology already so we don't need to rely on chargers

whites are a fucking joke

Sorry, Stadia was a bigger meme

>improve
but where is the money in that?

>I am forgotten
Yeah no shit, what does it have other than a fucking crank? Why the fuck would I want to crank my video game other than some 15 minute gimmick I can go 'heh' at? Not worth any amount of money.

>$150 for a fucking crank

>Teenage Engineering
No wonder its shit.

Stadia was posted here for weeks, this thing was posted here for a week at most.

>2 face buttons
I get that you're trying to be retro but that's a shitty design choice nowadays. 0/10 would not buy.

even if this project fails, the people who led it will pocket a shitload of venture capital

somebody is getting paid more than you RIGHT NOW to make what is basically a 1990 handheld in 2020--but this time it SPINS

The two buttons are aligned like a NES pad, will feel like shit on a small handheld guaranteed.

If you're looking for a real life example, try holding a GBA SP. It's almost like Nintendo didn't consider my giant man hands when making this kids toy.

hence why it was a "bigger meme"

even as someone who likes the idea of crank-powered electronics (I have a crank radio), the idea of having to crank-power a videogame is just, no, fuck no, fuck that.

At least with a radio you just crank it for a minute and then put it down for ~5 minutes of radio listening, but a vidya also requires use of your hands, which makes it annoying to have to stop and crank all the time.

The crank isn't for utility. It's an input.

So you could play one fishing game huh? Great idea.

that's even dumber

So what does the crank do? They said it was a secret.

it dougs

It's an input and they suggested the devs do interesting things to make use of it. So it'll depend on the game. I think they also said some of the games won't use it.

It's a fucking gimmick, duh

>there's nothing a crank can do that two analog triggers can't
It's over bros

Except entertain the autism spectrum kids.

what kills this for me is that it could have been a decent console if it had support for stuff like unity, unreal or game maker, godot.. etc

i don't know why'd they make it HARDER to make a game on this then something like the nintendo switch &ps4 which has sold millions of units

They're only planning on having a dozen or so minigames, from what I understand

like nigga... lol buy a copy of wario ware twisted
nigga like what the fuck were they thinking?

Having tried it last year at PAX, all I can really say is it's a cute little device, but I fail to see how it'll be anything more than a temporary distraction. The games are definitely inventive with the crank, but that's about all I can say about it.

>could have been a cool crank powered emulation device
>it's a fucking faggot little indie console instead and the crank is an input

this failure is sorta the reason why i returned my teenage engineering synthesizer
fucking meme shit

For one glorious week this board was funky
