>What is haven and hearth? It's a shit game made by two gay swedes over a decade ago. You start out trying to survive in the woods with nothing and use the world around you to build your home. Eat to become stronger and advance your civilization. Work together and claim land, a village, and then a kingdom in this sandbox MMO with pvp anywhere and permadeath with some stat recovery.
>Why are we playing this? In this world you build a civilization with others using the wilderness around you. Together Yea Forums can overcome all obsticles and destroy all the russians and koreans that invade this game. Pvp can be initiated anywhere and working as a hivemind we can be the ultimate force in this world. But combat is not all, as we must also build our own glorious civilization. Together you can help build and conquer your part of this world.
This world known as world 11 is finally coming to an end by march 6th. Until then we can do whatever we want. We have this time to prepare and get you initiated to the game mechanics so you can be a powerful rusky stomping force of nature. When world 12 arises nothing will stop our ascent to glory.
You can either join our discord or post in this thread as Yea Forums tradition states. Either is acceptable as there is an ingame chat area as well.
as many as we can, the more the merrier, we'll have to fight against an endless horde of russians so every man counts
Cameron Moore
There are a couple of us on right now just getting our bearings, most people are waiting for world 12 to start
Joshua Scott
how do I play with you guys?
Luke Garcia
We'd have to build a wilderness beacon and give you a password for you to spawn in where we're at. Otherwise you'd spawn somewhere random and the map is really big. We can work on getting one set up
Jeremiah Lopez
I've only played this a couple times, but I've interested in playing again. I remember it being 2D awhile back. Did they update the models and stuff in the last few years? What's the microtransaction policy?
Jeremiah Morales
Things look 3D now, and there's no microtransactions anymore
Jacob Rogers
Make sure you read a few guides and have a grasp on what you want to be doing.
Ian Cook
We killed a few bats to eat. Should be safe right?
For safety reasons, we will be banning any sort of recipes that use bat meat in world 12.
Jace Diaz
you now buy hats and pay for some rather substantial things like extra inventory space and doing certain tedious ingame actions faster, gaining more stats and so on. One particular thing you get is the ability to play 2D haven and hearth so you can directly see how much better a game it is to the 3D version.
Tyler Taylor
I have not played since 2013 holy fuck a lot has changed

I didn't get coronavirus but I did get some Severe Mauling. That injury seems like a pain to heal.
first off you gain points per food you eat, whenever you eat a specific type of food you gain satiation from that food. That means that the food you just ate becomes less effective for stat gains unless you wait for the satiation to go away.
There is also the hunger meter, this is important to know as this meter provides a multipler to how quickly food increases your stats, This meter will very quickly be reduced to 100% stat increases with constant play and for the first few days of gameplay knowing what foods to eat to get the most out of this meter while it's huge will benefit you.
If this sounds complicated and gay to you it is and nobody likes it, this system get tweaked constantly and the current eating system is rather different from what it was when first introduced.

You have needs such as Hunger and Thirst. To fill those needs you need to eat. Basic.
Complicated: Food gives attriibutes points on a bar called FEP. When this bar fills, you roll a dice to all attributes on the "FEP Bar" and whichever lands, you gain. Your FEP Bar has the size of your highest attribute.
For the sake of an example, let's say Meat gives you +1 Str (5.0) and +2 Str (5.0) and your FEP Bar is 0/10. When you eat the Meat, your bar will fill 5 points with +1 Str, then 5 points with +2 Str, it will fill up, and then a dice will be rolled, deciding which of the two Attribute Gains you'll obtain. 50% Chance of +1 STR or 50% chance of +2 Str.
The more of a food type you eat, the less effective it becomes, so if you eat a lot of meat, its effectiveness can decrease, causing those 5.0 to become 4.9, 4.8 and so on. So you have to vary to make food effectiveness to not suck, basically.

I'm gonna miss these random clogs I got from fishing in the practice camp. Hope I fish some good shit during w12
Serious question: Is it possible for a duo to survive in a small settlement and do ok? We played a few worlds ago and stayed far from any river, or at least our base wasn't close, and did fine for a bit but our quality level was so fucking low and doing everything ourselves spread our abilities so thin. And even then we eventually got murdered while fishing.
We can be smarter and make better alts this time for various tasks but at the same time so much has changed and it feels overwhelming.
Aaron Watson
yes, ultimately if you don't do absurdly risky things like fishing you can make your small hermitage and thrive, ultimately you need to build up trade stuffs as if you are only two people you will never keep up with the autism but you can trivially buy the results once a market is setup
Adrian Howard
>market that reminded me! We never were near a market - maybe they weren't a thing then? Or I just forget, that's ok too. Is it possible to live near one without being a major target? Or is traveling less a big deal now? I know i saw a covered wagon or something with a horse in the trailer and while i remember horses, i definitely do not remember that. However i may be remembering things incorrectly and this is coming from a shitter, so grain of salt.
If my RL buddy doesn't play i'd love to join you guys, even if im just helping out and taking directions. I don't have the real life time to autism but it's still fun to be part of something cool.
Jaxson Thompson
you are ultimately going to have to travel there at least once, there is a teleport structure you are able to construct which markets usually have and or will sell you the materials to make one.
living next to a market always makes you a target for anyone that doesn't like the market operators/participates so don't do that if you don't have a strong grasp of base security and know how to escape dudes chasing on water and land.
Samuel Ortiz
that is good info, thanks user!

You eat all candleberries you see until someone punches you out
Carson Flores
how is fishing risky lmao
Thomas Sullivan
unless you are watching your character the entire time you have basically given up initiative if someone shows up. Knarrs are extremely fast and if you are on the water they can be on top of you in seconds and are able to block a rowboat from reaching the shore. Even if you intend to escape inland in the seconds it takes to tab back to the client they can nearly roll right up to you on the water.

I see there are seasons now does anyone know what season the new world starts in?
Blake Sanchez
No one knows, this is the first time a world starts with seasons. Best case we get summer with fruited trees, worst case it's winter
Zachary Lewis
starting in winter sounds funny but also shit
Jaxon Collins
Yeah, it'd be fun for the novelty of everything being hunting and mining, but the playerbase would die hard
David Cox
>tfw this will be the first world since world 3 or so that I wont be playing at the start, or at all
feels bad

What's the game been like over the past year or so? Any wild changes?

bows and satiations have been unfucked, there is also a rather serious change to wall durability that effectively means you are going to get fucked if you are not a massive faction
it's a localized resource of moderate importance, the roots it produces instantly heal any wound even wounds that have no treatment.
Julian Howard
Do you welcome casual newtards even? The harmless "i just wanna farm and shit" and could at least listen as to what NOT to do, I mean.
Ian Sullivan
Fuck, on one hand I kinda eanna play with you when the reset happen, but on the other I'm not sure I want to play this game again.
Jayden Ortiz
do we have to join the discord to be a part of the group?
Nolan Roberts
Well, discord will have all the info you need to play with people, but im sure stuff posted on the great day will be enough for you to reach everyone.
Landon Cox
not necessary but it can be useful to keep yourself updated with news and research that some people are doing. we use the ingame chat when playing so you're not missing out on much. also we got quite a few people who can bring any noob up to speed
