No, it's garbage.
why is that?
Only if you have a controller to play them with, M+K is terrible.
Yea worth, that's like 60+ hours of content and they are good, you can go blind with them
Yes.
totally
>walk 10 meters
>fight
>X X X X X X X X X Y Y X X
>turn a corner
>fight
>do a mission
>ITS KIRYUU!!!
>X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X
>repeat for 35 hours
Real Yakuza use controllers.
>use the same graphics as the remastered collection box
motherfuckers, and here i thought we have a release date
the games are real good btw
sounds pretty based to me.
Nah, just buy 0 on its own and watch the rest on YouTube if you're into the story. They're all the fucking same and at best you'll play through 0 get excited for the rest and then burn out five hours into the next game.
reminder
I'd say go for 0 only initally.
I personally got into the series with 0 and am now completely hooked (currently playing through 5HD on PS4), but the games are on sale regularly enough.
0 is absolutely the high point so far. Try 0, see if you want to delve deeper, wait for sale on Kiwami 1 and 2.
I liked Yakuza 0, and even Kiwami 1 was nice. Aside from the stupid Kiwami mechanic, it pretty much perfected the fighting system in my eyes.
I'm gonna complain about 2 now though.
Why is everything more different and yet hollow?
>Every enemy is super-responsive you can never land the first strike
>Random enemies doubled in number but not in toughness, if you get hold of a bike, killing them takes less time than the start and the end of the fight
>lot of the sub-stories are just "bring me a shibebbile, thanks man"
>Cabaret Club is the same as in 0, except Kiryu is a more boring manager
>Styles are gone, attacks are much more same-y
>Songs are worse than before
>Majima Chapter is gratuitous as fuck and barely has any meaning aside from a few nice cutscene, and the plot is retarded simple
>Arcades are empty and has three games total
1 and 2 are also on sale though 50% off on both
Well as a good point at least you no longer have to slam the x-button for an hour so Kiryu gets his ass up from the ground if knocked down, but in turn you ragdoll like in a bethesda game.
new game soon?
FUCK I THOUGHT THIS WAS 3-6
You got me
>Majima Chapter is gratuitous as fuck and barely has any meaning aside from a few nice cutscene, and the plot is retarded simple
While I agree with you, it gave me pic related and made me cry like a bitch, so I will challenge you on that, good man.
Yeah, but there are people who don't really get into it, and 0 is an absolute steal at 5€. So I'd advise the more conservative approach since there are some people who don't see themselves getting into it further.
It's a kino crime drama with a really good and well written story.
get it for PS4 instead
PC fags stay away from my favorite series I don’t need more of you losers ruining the fanbase
I'm hardly surprised. Some plebeians will enjoy anything after all
Well I did cry on that part too so it wasn't absolute trash
But after the first cutscene (which was really funny) it is obvious what is happening, which never happened to me before in a yakuza game, and I found it forced how Majima didn't figure it out right away.
Also his fighting style is super simplified, you have the same three combos, and the tiger drop. It felt like they put it there just because people were disappointed by the lack of playable Majima in Kiwami 1
ur mom
He forgot to mention there's usually several different kinds of cutscenes in between each gameplay segment
trying too hard dude
>No remasters of 3, 4 or 5
>No Y6
The absolutely state of PC lards
yes do it.
>not a dualshock silhouette
Judgement/6/3/4/5 on steam when bros?
Maybe you just don't belong here, newfriend
i just want to go make some money on 0
starting chapter 14 now
After Kenzan lmao
Yes, but also no.
They're good games, but every entry is more of the same, which is to say once you finish one, you'll probably want a long break before you'll even want to touch the next.
While the games are worth it, I'd personally just buy one and buy the next entry the next time its on sale. By then, it might be cheaper, and you might be in the mood to play again desu.
Have you ever played a Yakuza before? If no pick Zero and see if you like, if yes then definitely!
Basically this yeah. 0 is even worth it at full price, and that comes from someone who only ever buys a game on discount.
>but every entry is more of the same, which is to say once you finish one, you'll probably want a long break before you'll even want to touch the next.
just what i expected from the same franchise
if i want call of duty i dont buy silent hill
I bought 0 for $4.99. Never played a Yakuza game or a GTA game which I have heard is in the same genre.
They really aren't. Might sound similar because dudes running around in an urban area in a sort of free-roam style, but they are as different at their core.
sure, but they're VERY much the same. exact same map, exact same gameplay, 95% same mechanics.
Yes
Kiwami is definitely the lesser of the three, but it's sandwiched between two excellent games.
3, 5, 6 and 7 give you different cities to explore too
Yeah Kiwami is stuck in that weird place trying to preserve what feel the old-ass first game had with its dated mechanics, and trying to innovate with what it learned from the other bunch of games simultaneously.
Kiwami 2 is a terrible remake.
>Arcades are empty and has three games total
That's a grand improvement over Kiwami's whopping zero games, unless you count fucking rock paper scissors. It's also important to note that one of the games in K2 is motherfucking Virtual On, which kicks ass even without the unique joystick setup.
No, it's just chinese knockoff GTA: asian style
While Virtual On was nice, and the rock-paper-scissors thing was only eye-candy, I do miss the racing games, platformers, and shooters that 0 had. At least give us a pinball or something.
I also enjoyed Virtua Fighter a lot less than I thought I would
Kiwami 2 is one of the best in the series
Platformers? It was just racing and shooting games in 0.
Sorry I was thinking of Fantasy Zone
Depends, what's in the bundle? I'm quarter way through Yakuza 4 after finishing 3 - and I can confidently advise you skip 3 altogether.
i have about 500 hours in all 3 games. it's worth it to pay full price for all of them. 27 bucks for all 3 is really good. i can't fucking wait for Y3
twitter.com
Lab42 ported Y0 and K1 to steam, we're all assuming this tweet means 3,4,5 remastered. It might be the case that they're doing simultaneous xbox releases as well, so I suspect an E3 announcement and a month wait putting Y3 on steam sometime in July.
I think xbox kind of fucked us on PC, they're going to want to get those console bucks first and foremost. I feel like we would have had judgement or Fist of the North Star already. but i'm pretty confident we'll get all the Yakuza games eventually.
makima chapter also has the best boss theme in the game and possibly the franchise
Majima Chapter didn't have Pledge of Demon.
I just found out I have Yakuza Kiwami...
I am looking forward to FotNS
But I agree, sooner or later we'll get the Yakuzas for PC, but we are a secondary market.
Ibuki theme was sick as fuck. His intro is also 11/10
>>Y3
Seriously, don't bother. Skip that one (watch the story on youtube or something) and go straight for Y4, which is Y3 but better in every way.
I agree that the way the combat works in K2 feels much less aggressive than Y0 and K1. The stagger every time an enemy blocks your attack just feels weird as hell and block the flow of the fight. Bosses are especially annoying if you haven’t invested enough in skills (looking at you, boot knife fucker). Good thing you can mod DoD style in to make it much more responsive.
In term of side contents, there’s a big list of substories but half of them are “befriend the citizens” crap so it’s about the same as other games. There’s still so many other side contents though. Cabaret, Clan Creator, Street Bosses, Bouncer Missions, Colliseum and craploads of minigames. 8 man battle royale is fucking fun for me.
yeah im pretty sure Xbox made a deal with them so the rest of the games can come out day 1 on gamepass when they release on PC
0 is worth a steam rental so sure give it a go.
ya mom didn't belong here but i fucked her
I have 0 and both Kiwamis as a newcomer, going through 0 slowly but surely. Not a fan of the Cabaret or Real Estate stuff but I get that they're the main money maker methods besides maybe the cat fights.
Fuck you shakedowns.
Charge cancelling made Kiwami 2’s combat fun for me, that and there’s a boat load of heat actions
Is an i7 4770k and GTX 970 enough for them on PC?
>Songs are worse than before
This worth it, then?
nexusmods.com
But shakedown is the best moneymaker though. Kiryu can unlock the ability to make him drop more money to about 50% of what he has. So
>Earn one billion
>Lose to him
>Defeat him next time
>You get 1.5 billion back
>Repeat til you get one trillion
You can do the Miracle Johnson quests to get the shakedown detector to make it faster too. Pick black both time when he asks.
Farming Mr Shakedown in Y0 is probably the comfiest way to rake in the money. Just equip high damage weapons. Repair after fights, rinse and repeat
>pick black both time when he asks
But I thought that it don't matter if you're black or white
more than enough for 0 at least
>really good and well written story
this is your brain on anime
there is a facade of a decent story for the first 2-3 hours of each game and then you start realizing how fucking dumb it is
You can probably hit 144fps on Y0 and K1. K2 uses an updated engine so it looks better and runs a lot worse. My 1070 can only do 50-70fps at 1440p with 90% render scale.
>Pledge of Demon

only faggot retards skip mainline games of any franchise, neck yourself
