FFVII isn't even a complete game, by choice.

Just finished the demo, it was actually pretty good. Still not spending a dime on it until the whole thing is finished in 2035

As someone who bought the game at launch and ended up hating the game afterwards,
I unironically think the Luminous Engine looks better since it somehow renders the game differently compared to FF7R.
I think it might be how it creates an unusual lighting effect and how it manages to render colour onscreen.
Something about it kind of gives off a bit more of a "magikal" vibe compared to UE4, where all the colour looks dirty, glossy and weirdly saturated, a think I noticed in a majority if the games.
Its too bad Luminous became such hell to code because those Versus XIII trailers still look good to this day.

The reason that people still shit on FFXV is because FFXV-kun/Barry is always shilling for it which makes people remember the bad time they had with it. It just continuously makes the image of the game worse in everyones head with how much this autist brings it up and claims there's nothing wrong with it.
FFXV was bad, but even I'll admit that maybe it isn't as bad as I remember although clearly still not that good.

I was not aware that ffxv was bad until i went on the internet.

Episode Duscae gave the impression that the game was not going to fall into their usual trappings, that the game would maybe be a bit less linear for once. This was the only demo anyone got to play and then it turned out that one map was not only half the game, the rest of it was linear as fuck.

Square deserves more and more shit the more shitty games they pump out. Development hell isn't an excuse, it's a fucking symptom.

FFVIIR is a straight upgrade from FFXV, but at what fucking cost? Remember when they said the remake was supposed to come out on PS3? and now it is a fucking episodic game. People will probably have waited 25 years or more total when the full remake is out.

Devs making their own engines is a complete waste of time and money. Whenever I read that shit I know the game is going to take 3 extra years to be released. Or 10 in the case of FFXV. And no one ever licenses these niche engines either. The Fox engine was used for MGSV and a soccer game. What a waste of time and money.
