What is the best 240hz to buy? Only games I care about right now are CSGO and DIabotical and I get 240fps in both. I've been stuck on 144hz far too long now. Thanks.

Don't, wait for 360hz. It's likely to hit the same price point.
The difference will be smaller than 144 to 240 and I don't know if I can get 360fps either.
360 will give you more wiggle room for VRR and they're likely to have more new features like variable black frame insertion.
If you want 1440p though then by all means knock yourself out because it's unlikely we'll have 360hz panels above 1080p initially.
The difference from 144 to 240 is barely (if at all) noticeable. You're better off getting a higher quality/resolution screen then a higher refresh one.
60fps -> 16.6ms
144fps -> 6.94ms
165fps -> 6.06ms
240fps -> 4.16ms
Note how going from 60 to 144 is around a 140% improvement, but 144 to 240 is only a 66% improvement. You hit some rather hard diminishing returns.
Seriously, go and check out a 240hz monitor at some shop or whatever, you're probably not going to be able to tell the difference from 144 to 240.
I'm still @60fps lol
Yes
A reminder that it's your own eyes
A reminder that the only way to cut that is black frame insertion features, NOT le epic IPS meme. Response times don't help for shit
Also a reminder that ULMB/BFI works from 60hz on certain TV and older monitor. Recent ones only allow it from 75hz because of potential health issues though.
>Recent ones only allow it from 75hz because of potential health issues though
what
you realise it is about smoothness not response time?
Yes.
But there does get to a point that you genuinely can't see the difference. And no, I'm not talking about the retards who say that you can't see above 60fps, but there is a cut off at a point after 120hz+ that most truly can't tell.
>Don't, wait for 360hz. It's likely to hit the same price point.
The only reason people ever buy 240hz is because of
Honestly I wouldn't waste your money unless you are competing extremely high on esea or some shit. there are serious diminishing returns once you go higher than 144
no, 240hz is smoother than 120hz, it's better for fast-paced FPS games like Quake
better in what way?
but we only see 30Hz so what is the point?
anything above 144hz is a waste and the difference is negligible, but going from 60 to 144 is massive.
dude even 30% is a huge improvement
But can you SEE the improvement.
Find a shop that has a side by side of a 144 and 240 monitor. Most everyone can see the difference from 60->144 but almost no one can tell the difference from 144->240.
It would be profoundly fucking stupid to spend money on a new monitor that you can't even see the difference in. You are but only human.
I think actually hitting or staying above the HZ is less unimportant for motion calrity when you combine VRR and ULMB - with that tech a 360hz monitor SHOULD have better motion clarity at 120fps than a monitor at 120hz, simply because it reduces persistence which creates ghosting/blur.
Low HZ flicker / black frame insertion can trigger seizures and shit. Similar reasons why SOME people get headaches from CRTs or even fluorescent lights.
Alright, from this list: only aorus and acer actually can do 240Hz without much ghosting. TN panels are almost there but there is some ghosting sometimes.
360Hz is too far away for current tech.
Oh, and the best 240 right now is probably the acer xf 252q
holy fuck
unless you want to pay dbl youre going TN
360hz is just stupid because nobody have a gpu that good unless youre playing i dunno overwatch with like a $1400 gpu
of course you can
just spin your head around quick and see how fluid it is
duh
only TN can do 240 right now
>that minimap
LMAO fucking casual
what's the pro way? Locked to north?
then why move to 360hz if they dont even have 240hz down?
so disney can pay $20k for a monitor and gpu to work on projects in 360hz and then encode them down to 24fps in a theatre and 60fps for bluray and dvd?
For what purpose?
zoomed out so you can follow the action on the whole map
marketing obviously
marketing disaster more likely because bait and switch = marketing share value collapse
not really fren, these companies have tons of data and marketing departments for this, besides it's asus, every retard kid is going to want one, esp. if they sponsor a few streamers/reviewers. it's also not out yet which means that it's possible they use some overclocked/newer panel, but I wouldn't hold my breath, gay-sync makes it more enjoyable even if it can't do 360 but you'd argue why bother with 360...they'll be the first to do it that's why
