TWEWY is one of my faves, and Etrian Odyssey and SMT are pretty great as well. I also really enjoy KH1FM’s and KH2FM’s combat systems as well.

The atelier series has a surprisingly good battle system, especially the Mana Khelmia spin off as it focuses on controlling turns by breaking the opponent at the right moment, using combos, time cards, etc.

I would classify Dragon's Dogma as an action rpg, like Dark Souls and shit, but this will probably cause an autistic shitstorm.

I heard their stories are kinda dark and shit?
Tell me more of the gameplay.
>I heard their stories are kinda dark and shit?
It's dark comedy, if anything. Sometimes leans more into the goofy side.
It varies a bit but you basically play as someone that can transform into various demons with a unique cast of characters at your side (for example an old man that fights with a loli mannequin or a flamboyant superhero vampire wrestler).
As for the combat gameplay, it's briefly explained here
