A really great extremely cringy game

cringy dialogue and general autism stretched out to 200 hrs worth of "game" time

The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio

A main character who is less intelligent than the player

the best Final Fantasy

Attached: giphy (1).gif (350x174, 319K)

Kingdom hearts without Disney

HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAA

Tidus is definitely more intelligent than Noah Antwiler

This

The best FF experience you can get. Doesnt listen to these "HAHAHAHA" retards who haven't even played the game. FFX has the best gameplay, best music, best waifus. You literally cannot refute this.

yeah it's the GOAT FF along with 4, 6, 7, and 9

>What am I in for?
An alarming attraction to muscular leonine men.

Attached: 45876539846.gif (512x288, 483K)

It's one of my favorite ff, the setting is unusual and the ost is top tier. I didnt like the eng dub much, so I downloaded the nip audio file someone had posted for the pc version.

By far my favourite setting in any game ever
The start of the game is a fucking wild ride

I've been playing the undub and I Tidus is not annoying at all. He's pretty likeable actually.

Kino

Attached: 345647853575.jpg (1440x1440, 566K)

Agreed, especially since I went from FF7 and FF8 to 10. He was a breath of fresh air.

Fay Wray is missing from your hand

extremely based and correct opinion gz on actually playing the games friend

Linear world

Last good Final Fantasy

The best FF. The japs are right for once.
Combat is tactically alright for a jrpg (spamming attack/heal on danger is still viable for 90% of encounters). Also pure turn based, which I usually find inferior but is still miles ahead of atb.
The setting is very comfy, excellent ost, and good art style (except those pants on the main character)., rioting is serviceable. The story is awful but you already don't care playing a FF.

Some bullshit RPG that keeps distracting you from the kino Blitzball teambuilding simulator

HAHAHAHA

not to derail the thread but how did they go from the sphere grid in ffx to the crystal thing in ff13? Holy crap what a down grade

A good game that isn't cringey despite what these meme-y fucks are saying. If you actually read the subtext and meaning behind these """""cringe""""" scenes you'll see legitimately good story telling, just delivered in a very Japanese way.

The sphere grid is a bad system.

zidane is a bit cooler than tidus imo.
but X' ending is a gut punch even now.

>somehow manage to win at chocobos and butterflies
>get absolutely dabbed on by lightning
how the fuck do I do it?

Attached: 1557455285092.jpg (225x225, 6K)

Linear with cringy love story. Lore, world and combat system is great.

Neither are good systems. At least the sphere grid had the illusion of choice though.
I'm 99 percent sure the only reason they chose to make the crystium? In such a limited and boring way is because they wanted to completely removed the option to grind past difficulty spikes..... But then also added auto battle to make it brainless.

there's a crater next to one of the lightning towers, the distance between the two corresponds perfectly to the rhythm of lightning strikes, so you can just cheese it there by running between the two.
still not easy.

Cool world and story, not so good everything else.

this is why I like FFIX's old school stat and ability gains through specific gear pieces, it BTFOs minmaxing and jack-of-all-trades autists, makes their life a living hell.

Final Fantasy VI is a masterpiece.
Final Fantasy VII is a masterpiece.
Final Fantasy Tactics is a masterpiece.
Final Fantasy VII is a masterpiece.
Final Fantasy IX is a masterpiece.
Final Fantasy X is a masterpiece.

You're in for a masterpiece, OP.

You know it's interesting FF13 and 10 both are basically walk down corridor until the cutscene plays Sims, have easily abusable battle systems, have a dumb fetish for ugly techno organics, have characters that go between being annoying and bland at different times in the story, make leveling ultimately unrewarding by tacking on a mind palace progression system, and both generally are stories about accepting death, yet 10 is actually good while 13 is a slog. How did two highly similar products end up being so different?

Attached: 1574524538774.jpg (960x1280, 136K)

FF10 has good world building and pacing. FF13 does neither of those well.

I can remember all of Spira and its fictional history, races, and most of its inhabitants.
XIII had uhh, Fal'Cie? Chryssalis? Sazh was a bro I guess.

>decent setting
>good battle system
>BIG ASS TIDDIES
That's about all it's worth.

Some of the fucking worst post-game grinding in video game history

Attached: 1583228366111.jpg (663x579, 38K)

The moment the Final Fantasy series started shitting the bed. Not a bad game, but a lot of bad precedents.

I guess that's true. The pacing of 13 is fucking awful, did we really need 6 chapters of hope getting hyped up to confront snow only to forgive him within 15 minutes of meeting him? Did we need lighting figuring out of the course of 3 hours the Fal'Cie view humans as their personal pets and playthings? Did we need Snow (a character I actually like) to switch personalities whenever it was convent for the story? No. The game unironically could have been Fang, Vanelle and Sazh and the story would have worked.

Try a dragon quest

Probably the first FF game since II that I actually disliked, as much as I hate to say it. It had a good battle system and I liked some of the side characters, but everything else was pretty ass, imo. The series has been bumpy ever since.

it's not THAT bad. Luck spheres are a bit of a pain if you're a minmax autist, but all of it is optional.
Most dark aeons are pushovers, Wakka kills the first few with single attack reels at max attack

the need to racemix with cute Al Bhed girls

Attached: 1574821071597.jpg (600x761, 510K)

yeah okay, dragon quest is no where near as bad as the rainman autistic grinding that final fantasy inflicts on the player, the only dragon quest game that I could think of where I needed to grind for the end and I was just getting frustrated by the fact that the only enemies worth exp and gold hit like fucking trucks and it was a royal pain in the dick to get to where they were and hoof it back to healing was V

X is just better paced in general. It may be a hallway buy it knows when to stop and have you explore a village or learn something about the world. XIII would slap a save point shop down, name drop some shit you'll have to stop and read the in game guides to understand, and tell you to get fucking going again.

The beginning of the dark days.

Attached: ffx.jpg (1196x444, 180K)

XII is the first truly bad mainline entry if you ignore the ancient NES ones and 8 hating faggots

Nonsensical story, boring cast and a background twilight tier love story between a whore and a cringey ghost

Don't talk shite.

Attached: 1580078793879.jpg (448x280, 50K)

Incels are so cringey lol.

Awkward translation and voice acting. Fun gameplay.
Here's the Voice Actor getting butthurt that people made fun of his shit performance.
youtube.com/watch?v=kRWab0q9aw4

Interesting lure and a surprisingly faster-paced turn-based system but most of the characters are blah except Wakka for his stance on swirly-pupil motherfuckers and Lulu who gets featured in well done CGI fanporn.

You’re based but switch 9 with 8 and we have a deal. Vivi’s arc is god tier good, but the rest of the game fell flat for me.

8 is the flatest FF game ever produced though

the sweetspot of Classic and modern JRPGs, outdated voice acting, soul, beautiful OST, good story (not too simple not too crazy), likeable character cast, great turn based combat system

Most overrated game in the franchise after 7, but it's mostly because it's a lot of zoomer's first FF. Game's garbage though

>Final Fantasy VII is a masterpiece.
Okay...

>Final Fantasy VII is a masterpiece.

You FF7 fanbois are redundant as fuck and I'm kinda glad that Square Enix is going to take $60 from you multiple times until you get the ENTIRE game remade, instead of $60 once for a whole fucking game.

... That being said, FFX is decent if you don't play it with an English dub on.

Attached: 1500971794557.jpg (537x249, 19K)

They say Seymour went to Macarena Temple.

The English voices are great, faggot.

Really? Are they really? The worse thing they ever did for FF games was add in voice "talent".

Attached: 1543847993722.jpg (920x380, 69K)

Good game, but the beginning of the end for Final Fantasy. The world design is atrocious, the whole game is a giant line. The actual lore behind the world itself is great, and the pseudo flash gordon plot is great though. The battle system is good and the bosses are very well designed for FF. Character progression honestly sucks, the sphere grid is cool in concept but trash in practice, you really don't have a good way to develop your characters. The voice acting was abysmal when the game first came out and it was a novel selling point, today it's one of the worst in all video games, people only like it ironically. Puzzles are terrible but at least it still had them.

How bad is the remaster really? I played through the OG game twice in the PS2 era and I remember really liking it. I want to play it again, and I have my console and the discs and a Retrotink so there isn't really any obstacles.

But I am interested in the "International" features like the "Expert" Sphere grid, and new bosses. And of course "Eternal Calm" and "Last Mission". I know they had to remake the character models, which is fucking weird, but did the rest of the game escape ok?

If its a regular old poz dick to the anus I'll just stick to my old copy.

Attached: silent hill 2 hd.jpg (514x286, 17K)

The character models are pretty bad, but I don't find them that jarring in motion. Other than that it's a fine HD port.

One of the best minigames of all time

Attached: 1581994619182.png (1280x720, 1.97M)

It’s good. Yuna and Tidus’ faces were fucked up and Seymour’s is weird but passable. Everything else about the Remaster is great. The thing it does really well is that it makes the game look how you think it looked. Everything is crisp, world geometry is improved, weapons and environments look great, etc. All of the International improvements are also fantastic. The arranged soundtrack is great but obviously subjective, but if you’re on PC or PS4 you can toggle between the old and new.

The Remaster is the best way to play the game. Upscaling the PS2 version doesn’t add the improved textures, geometry, UI, etc. Just be prepared for weird baby face Tidus and you’ll be fine.

Also, note that the Expert Grid will gimp you late game, especially if you plan to do the super bosses, since it has fewer spheres on the grid. Use the Standard grid (which is still slightly different than the original release) if you want to minmax for the end game bosses.

Also note that the endgame bosses are put in all of the shrines, so you better get everything when you go through them the first time or else you're locked out of them until the endgame unless you cheese them all with Yojimbo

Attached: 1571919471337.png (840x1000, 1.1M)

I still don't know how I did the Chocobo one so quickly I was pretty much convinced it was impossible the controls are awful.

it's not silent hill remaster, don't worry

>this means you have to play blitzball
Unacceptable

The Seagulls are a bit predictable and the race itself isn't that long, people just oversell the difficulty of it.

Lightning can fuck right off though. It's annoying and takes forever to do.

>seagulls are predictable
>completely random based on where the trainer is if you btfo her they will spawn right in front of you
>you can get stunlocked by them
>they can fly in directly at you in the end

That's not the chocobo race people complain about

Attached: 1579346051751.png (1280x720, 2.23M)

Are you implying this is difficult? Maybe getting all the chests but I don't even remember what you get from all the chests.

The first few ones aren't that hard to dodge and you can afford to get hit by one or two seagulls anyway.

Ah, my bad. I never bothered with this, or Kimahri in general for that matter so I wouldn't know.

>best gameplay
It's actually pretty good if you disregard side shit like blitz ball
>best music
Wildly subjective
>best waifus
Who? There isn't a single good looking chick among them. Are you gay?
Then you have to suffer through the most retarded story and poorly written characters. If this is the best FF experience, go play DQ instead. Every single iteration past 3 is superior to FFX

Yeah if you get like 15 balloons 5 of which are just a crapshoot at the beginning since if they aren't lined up right the trainer will just steal them. And btw I'm talking about getting under 0 for the crest, just winning the race is easy.

You get 60 Three Stars

>there isn't a single good looking chick among them
What are you gay

Show me the good looking women in FFX

>there isn't a single good looking chick among them
Feel free to shit on the characterization and what have you, but you have to be fucking gay to think all three female party members aren't at least a solid 8/10.

nexusmods.com/finalfantasyxx2hdremaster/mods/20?tab=posts

I’m about to replay this on PC after getting all of the ultimate weapons on the PS3 version. I promise I will cheat through that fucking race. Fuck that race.

Theres an area where running in a circle usually nets at least one lightning strike. Also remember you can pause it. I remember I paused around the middle, waited awhile, then came back and somehow managed to get 226 strikes without counting, thinking I was far below. Still hurts my eyes thinking about it, all those flashes suck. Make sure you're in a well lit room as you attempt it.

Shitty dialogs and animation and pacing

>There isn't a single good looking chick among them.
you're the biggest homosexual here faggot

The girl who is the protag in X-2 has her eyes too far apart. The could have been a 7 or 8 if not for the fucked up eye color and the black mage looks like some washed up whore

I still have a crush on Lulu. Her big tiddy goth mommy vibes are 11/10.

Also, Rikku isn’t to my taste but she’s cute and has a really tight body — her Al Bhed outfit is outright scandalous.

Yuna is pure waifu material if that’s your thing.

So you haven't even played the game

>Her big tiddy goth mommy vibes are 11/10.
>but she’s cute and has a really tight body — her Al Bhed outfit is outright scandalous.
You have some mighty fine tastes my good man

I know user and I do think you don't need to avoid all of the seagulls/get all balloons to get that under 0 time. Then again the last time I played the game was back in 2011 so maybe I just remember it wrong.

So you can't show me one
To sum up
jailb8 with eyes too far apart which makes her look freakish
Summoner with different colored eyes and a soon to hit the wall whore. Yea, great waifus

>want to replay it through the Remaster with the new sphere grid
>can't stand the "updated" face graphics

I did a quick search and didn't find any mods to fix this. Anyone have any inside mods that will make them bearable?

Attached: justwhyse.jpg (1280x720, 128K)

nexusmods.com/finalfantasyxx2hdremaster/mods/32

FFX is mostly limited to texture mods like this. No model swapping, so there's only so much they can fix.

Attached: tidus hd.jpg (3840x2160, 1006K)

As far as I’m aware, there’s no mod that fixes the mesh but there are some decent retexture mods that makes it closer at least. Still, the texture does a lot of damage to the look so it helps quite a bit.

This seems much more bearable. Thanks anons

HA HA HA

>What am I in for?

a good story that can be a bit cringe at times with pretty good gameplay. Don't let anyone else's opinion (especially the apes that are on Yea Forums) stop you from having a good time with this game. It's worth the hours you play.

Top tier turn based jrpg with a pretty good story (imo). Music and cinematics are amazing. Sure, it has some cringe dialogue parts but most games do (HAHAHA). The sphere grid is way too linear, though it does expand later in the game once the paths meet (similar to FF13). Also Aeons are a little too OP imo (Rikku too if you use a guide for her ultimate). Try to beat the bosses without them for an extra challenge. Also Blitzball is one of the best minigames in a game ever.

There is no fix. You can emulate international with English text.

ngl, I enjoyed spamming nap pass until the entire opposing team gets knocked out

this, the two genuine flaws are yuna's autistic mannerisms and kimahri. tidus autism is funny enough
