Tried it out last year, got mocked by what sounded like 8 year olds for being a "default". Spent the game ramming into them with some quad car and making them take fall damage.

Its just like the internet. If all the gaming traffic is on one game, like internet traffic is on social media, then other games have less populations and attention. Even when halo was a powerhouse with 2, 3, and reach, other games still flourished and did well for example. Now games die faster even with more consoles out there and more people playing games, because they all play fortnite or some casual nintendo shovelware for 20 minutes and call it a day. Nintendo really opened pandoras box and fucked up the entire industry with the wii and appealing to fucking losers who dont even like gaming

The wii brought in people who dont care about gaming. They played wii sports for 20 minutes in christmas 2006, mario kart in 2008 for an hour, then the system died in 2009. The casual bucks was to appealing to ignore, so it side tracked microsoft and sony with gimmick hardware add ons in an attempt to chase that market. There was only 10-15 million legitimate wiis sold. I say this because there is 13 million wii us sold, and the only who bought that are the actual nintendo guys who just like nintendo. The wii set us all back for a generation which we paid for in this one. It looks like the ship is being righted next gen though with microsoft dropping the gimmicks and making a powerhouse, and sony seems to be moving past the vr bs as well.

i started playing fortnite a few days ago and it is not as bad gameplay wise. the only thing wrong with it is the retarded building mechanics that lets you make fortnox for yourself in a second.

it is frustrating as fuck to get the drop on someone and suddenly have a WTT built out of thin air and you having to do the same. I always ahve grenades, explosives and rocket launchers to dab on those fuckers.

Also the weapons do way too much damage and firefights last like a second even on early game.

Its the worst competitive multiplayer game idea and it makes no sense in any genre you put it in. Especially a shooter, where you can die instantly to a shotgun. Building needs to be nerfed hard. Massive global cooldown on building + walls that don't die to 3 bullets.

At this point, the only way to beat others is to pay a lot of money for these packages of shit. The game is advertised as free, but over all it costs over $500. That means you'll spend over $500 to play with 6 year olds.

Good, Apex Legends is literally the only good BR on the market anyway
