Whatever happened to gaming webcomics?
Whatever happened to gaming webcomics?
They got blown up by a bunch of airheaded creators with overinflated egos that got CattyN' popped off at any kind of banter.
Over saturated market and everyone had ad blocker
WII GAME
They dont pay to get promoted here so they use reddit like any other sane person would do
Oh, awesome, lol thread.
loving every laugh when post-twitch era gachizoomers can't even recite the locker room scene in English.
What about other game?
Unironically LOL threads. We made Loss so fucking big that normalfags reference it on Facebook posts about sports games. Buckley actually changed his ways, it was so bad. Everyone else got scared of making the next Loss, so they either quit while they were ahead. or wrapped their comic in so many layers of bland, safe self deprecation and irony that they lost all personality and faded out. Look at Hejibits. He had a couple comics become semi-big meme material so he reduced himself to Facebook tier "so quirky and weird" relatable personal life comics, complete with a Calarts level simplification of his art style.

> Follow a cute comic called 'The Intrepid Girlbot'
> Wordless comic about a girl bot finding a racoon, and hijinx ensuing.
>Site has dissapeared off the face of the web.
Stings quite a bit...
It feels like webcomics have been overshadowed by the wealth of video entertainment available now. Even short comics get ignored if they're not highly simplified. They seem to be largely forgotten.

all webcomics these days are just meme template for "THING I DO NOT LIKE" or "I AM VERY SILLY"
IMAGINE
Memes replaced comics by giving every jack off a platform for comedy. When memes die, and they will, there still won’t be a market for comics because of jealous or lazy people calling everything cringe

Streamers and youtube blew up and overshadowed them. Webcomics got big in 90's and early 00's internet because they were simple jpgs and easy to share with low bandwidth.
LMAO ICNEL ABSOLUTETLY SEETHING
w-what happens next
The views went elsewere, social media and youtube became bigger and killed the early 2000's internet ecosystem. The same thing happened to flash games, blogs and many fan websites.
sweet bro and hella jeff is the logical endpoint
it was foretold
nice tortanic mentality there
Memes these days are SO bad. The formats are both dumb and overused, the images themselves look worse than stuff made in MS Paint, and the term 'meme' covers so many things that it may as well mean 'joke'.
So much 'relatable' junk and weak ebonics, and everytime someone thinks up of a joke, a horde of dudes beat it in to the ground by posting it everywhere. Maybe I'm just out of touch.
Good God.
