Sonic Team has said they will never make Sonic Adventure 3 because to them
a) Making Sonic Adventure 3 after Sonic Adventure to was to them stagnation and not moving forward
b) Making Sonic Adventure 3 after all this time would be moving backward instead of moving forward
They know people want Sonic Adventure 3, but they said we're going to make the games WE want to make and what WE think improves and moves Sonic forward.

My autistic childhood dream would be a yuri-filled Amy and Rouge-focused platformer with good level design, a score system and skill ceiling at least as good as SA2's and interesting fun motion that's easy to grasp but hard to master

I'm gonna put my Alex Jones tinfoil hat on and assume that Sega USA have a lot of say in this and, because of the Sonic Adventure games' reputation with a loud minority of "gaming elites", they constantly tell the Japanese devs that everyone in the west despises Sonic Adventure and it would sell like shit.

I mean, Sega USA had fucking Egoraptor make a lame-ass ironic Big the Cat song making it obvious he hates the games... then made Jun Senoue play along to it. And THEN made it an official character trailer. Extremely normal stuff that doesn't at all justify the whole "America is the Great Satan" thing.
