>coworker has a twitch/youtube channel for livestreaming video games >only 2 views per video >account is years old >every video is the faggot talking to himself in some comical theater student voice while he dicks around in the game
Why do people do this? Every single employed Yea Forumstard knows one of these faggots.
Watching other people play video games you own is cuckoldry
Lincoln Garcia
So he has a sizable backlog for fans when he does finally make it big :)
Michael Brown
A friend of mine went through that phase but did it because it was comfy or whatever. I assume thats the case for most and even if just one person enjoys it its just a bonus. Cringe af though.
Juan Robinson
you're the one I don't get, op. why do you want to watch people play videogames instead of playing them yourself
>caring what someone does with their free time You are even worse
Jaxon Powell
Just post the Veronica porn already
Sebastian Campbell

That other blond girl she travels with? Identical twin sister. Theyre 16 and she is small because pot monster stole her magic and this was its result
Matthew Bell
If they have like 50 videos without any views or subscribers you would think that theres something fundamentally wrong with them and wont even watch one video.
Wasnt there some disabled german guy who sounded like Bain who made a shitload of videos with his trainsets? Anyone remember that?
Adrian Perry
you're a monster

I have HDDs full of captures of every game I've played going back to around 2007. The solo games are without commentary, the multiplayer ones have in-game chat/vent/skype/discord and shit as part of them. Tens of thousands of hours recorded because I thought I might upload them someone for others but I always found an excuse not to. Lay off your friend, at least he's trying.
Recording yourself play video games is Infinitely less pathetic than spending your time watching people play video games.
Jace Lee
Hi OP's coworker

Jackson Gomez
Upload the multiplayer ones. Could be comfy.
Samuel Howard
I know, why I've never uploaded.
Jacob Hill
What I don't get is people who stream games they haven't played for the first time. I guess it's fine if you know it's probably gonna be shitty but if it's an actual good game, why would you ruin the experience by having yourself constantly look at chat, constantly read donations/subs/follows, constantly have to talk, etc?
Luis Price
That seems kind if innocent I dont get the big deal. Now twitch streamers who have an average of 10-20 viewers, putting on the typical showmanship every time someone interacts with his channel and hoping they'll be one of the lucky ones who will make it big on the platform, that's what's really sad.
Henry Wright
Because money. That's their "job". If small time, then they're hoping to make it big. I'd rather work a shitty wagie cuck job than ruin my gaming time like that.
Wyatt Collins
All of these stream archives will be useful for training neural networks.
Clearly your coworker thinks they will get popular if they just make videos, they are wrong. You have to shill your shit everywhere and hope to eventually reach critical mass of viewers to actually get youtube to recommend your videos to people

Jace Perry
Yeah. I think streaming multiplayer games or games you've played before is fine but I do not want to divide my attention when playing a new single player game that I think has potential to be something i'll like.
Ryder Morales
Don't know about whoever you know but the people who work with me who stream are doing so officially because they're also the devs. Even the CEO because unlike with most companies he's not just a suit. He's still a dev too.
Adam Edwards
No it's not, it's just enjoying others doing a thing you also like doing.
If one day you don't feel like playing basketball even if you normally would but you still sit and watch your friends play you're not being cuckolded. That's fucking retarded to even say.
Andrew Richardson
>Have very fat co-worker at fast food restaraunt >Make the mistake of telling him I play CS >He always tries to get me into either his faggot streams or the streams of some faggot he worships >He always starts out trying to be pewdiepie >loses energy minutes in and starts mumbling and awkwardly being quiet >Start bullying him from an anonymous account saying his stream sucks and he sounds like a fat fast food worker until he bans me >He's all quiet at work the next day, and the lack of dealing with him makes the shift fly by Anyway just make a throwaway twitch account and start bullying them, if nobody watches their streams then there's no way they can ignore it right?
I mean maybe streams for specific people or something, the bigger question is why do you care?
I make YouTube Videos of me and my friends playing video games all the time, I dont monetize anything, and I dont clear more then maybe 15 views a video, but I like learning video editing basics and it's fun for my friends. Seems like maybe you are just lonely or something OP, maybe go make some friends.

I mean I would factually rather have someone who dresses up like a gender they aren't over someone who wants to diddle children, I feel like most people would no matter how badly you want to direct attention away from yourself with an easy scapegoat. Seethe more pedophile, and just remember to keep those weird desires you have in your weird ass lolicon crap or its the rope for you.

Everybody I work with plays "game". As in they play a video game, singular. Call of Duty. Division 2. Destiny 2. Madden. 1 game.

You leftist ffailure the ones who are trying to convince people that pedophiles like yourself are just "misunderstood" and shit, no one is falling for your sad ass attempts at diverting attention away by using stupid buzzwords and shut, we know what you are. Stay away from children you sub human
>Multiple friends have decided to try and make a name for themselves streaming games they play >All of them are boring as fuck to watch and it's a big deal for them to get to 100 subs in two years >They still try and keep it up When will stupid people learn that the only way anyone's going to watch someone play a video game is if they're either preeminently skilled at it or are an entertaining person? Nobody wants to watch a 40 year old boomer who works in a gas station stream Skyrim to 3 people.
Imagine diverting this hard from your pedo shit and then trying to say other people are scared lol. Despite what you might have heard on the internet, Yea Forums is not pedo friendly, take your sickness elsewhere.
Brayden Garcia
were you actually shaking while writing this?
Landon Myers
Sounds cool to me.
Carter Young
woah cool it with the antisemitism bro
Parker Bell
Nah, but I bet you are, considering how much you are deflecting and diverting. I dont judge your illness yo, but I'm sorry, it cant be accepted, your illness isn't worth any child well being and safety, just stick with your 2-D shit creep
Damn, you really aren't used to being called out on this are you? Sorry my guy, despite what your weird deep web forums say, most people dont wanna fuck kids, you should try talking to a professional. There may be medication or something that could help.
Hudson Perez
>Nobody wants to watch a 40 year old boomer Well apparently 3 people do. 100 subs in two years isn't even very many, so it's obvious that they have no intention of making money out of it. Don't really see the harm if they enjoy it and understand that they aren't going to make money from it. Maybe they'll find 97 more boring like-minded people in the next two years.
Adam Wood

The irony of livestreaming is that it's a profession that primarily attracts the people least suitable for it. It's mind boggling how many people I see trying to make it in streaming when they can't even talk to audiences for 5 minutes without trouble.
Jeremiah Sullivan
Sure you did champ, just remember 2-D only
Andrew Flores
He's absolutely trying to make money off of it, he's gone whole hog into the thing. Branding, attempts at merch, discords to bring together his "fanbase", trying to move in on every trend that comes down the pipe to get noticed. It's sad as fuck watching someone who can't afford a doctor's visit spending his money on shirts with his shitty self designed logo on it to send to people who aren't ordering them.
Robert Cook

I kinda relate. I had a friend in high school how reviewed shitty free iPod Touch games with his jailbroken iPod. Kinda endearing though I'm sure if he kept doing it he woulda improved.
the oldest boomer i know who does video game stuff is AVGN and Mike, who might be very close to if not 40 already. its just weird watching 40 year old guys do video game stuff. keep the video game lets players to 20s to mid 30s

More adventures in "Things I made up to sound cool to anonymous people on Yea Forums" this is a great lost episode where the user accidentally outs himself and tries to use the "this was a long time ago" redaction spell, it's not very effective, but you still feel for him throughout the episode regardless.
I wanna stream but the more I think about it the more I realize I'm fucking boring and just hate focusing on being entertaining. I want streamer money but I'd only ever mostly play comfy games so I'd never make it plus im not a chick so

I have one friend who did a review video of Mighty Switch Force 2 at a time when there were hardly any reviews of it. The video got like 60k views. It didn't translate to success to his other videos though. He ended up taking the channel seriously for a while though, and would constantly post blog style updates on his life and where he was taking the channel...while every video got between 0 and 10 views. It was depressing after a while so I unsubbed. He still posts updates on Facebook occasionally talking about his YouTube channel and it's been like 8 years since his "big break" and he hasn't managed to find success.
Daniel Harris
My dude, here is your complimentary "lurk more" (You) hang on to that, and welcome to Yea Forums ya faggot

More bad news huh? Your mental illness moving beyond your pedophilia into delusion and paranoia and all that. Seriously, talk to a professional, it might genuinely help you.
>Based user is not only based but using nice looking dark theme Surprising no one. I hate when I have to phonepost from work.
Xavier Edwards
but you literally proved my point. are you shills genuinely retarded? what are you even doing here?
Brayden Torres
Showing that they were 2 posts from 2 different people somehow proves your point? Bro for real, what have you been diagnosed with?
Owen Edwards
>someone is shilling against my pedophilia What sort of thought process did you invent to make that make sense? What is or even possibly could be being shilled for here?
shut up. you get what you get shilling is gonna expose you. Watch it happen my experience once told me so.
Nolan Clark
nothing really, just funny how easy it was to trigger and troll two npcs with one word to go into a catfight over liberal polemics in a random thread. this was a fun waste of time before bed. this site site doesn't really seem to mentally safe for you though if you get offended that easily and you too, take it easy autist
Dear aspiring streamers. Even if you don't have talent, I'm willing to believe in you if you at least show some goddamn fucking effort. I don't mind if you have a bad voice, an ugly face, and no charisma. I'll give you the chance, I'm into following newbies. But please invest in an entry-level studio mic instead of your 10 dollar headset, a webcam that lets me see your face, and do anything at all that makes me think you care about your channel and didn't just arrive here because you thought you could luck out. Thank you.
Christian Parker
It's good to have creative outlets, but he should've probably channeled it into something constructive like a review at least.
Kevin Bailey
>merely pretending, heh heh g-got you.... Yeah okay, whatever you say user.
Why do twitch fags people like face cams so much? You are there to watch a game, not someone stare at a screen right? So why would you care about a face cam that is just blocking what you are there to watch?
Charles Hughes
Look I can understand why you think it's lame but it's kind of fucked up of you OP. Have you tried pursuing your own dreams? I'm sure people wanted you to fail too.
Asher Nelson
I don't need a face cam if a streamer is compelling enough otherwise because they're really good or speak well, but you're watching streams to get some kind of reaction. A face cam often just adds onto that.
Nolan Cox
>Guy has a job >Also has a hobby making videos/streaming he enjoys >Somehow this is a bad thing Sounds like a you problem, user.
people like seeing reactions, just look at youtube, there's thousands of channels where people just post themselves watching some video and those people get thousands to hundreds of thousands of views
Mason Walker
:^)
Gavin Lee
i have no idea how someone gets past the initial hurdle of even getting a single viewer. there is no incentive for someone to watch you at all, there is hundreds, thousands, of losers sitting at 0 viewers.
Charles Green
Not OP and I can't speak for his friends videos, but it annoys me when I see people do a shit job of pursuing their own dreams. I've known a few people try to get into streaming but never seem to make any plan on what content they'll deliver or how they'll set themselves apart from anyone else. Ditto on esports aspirants who only play casually but think they might make it someday. Dudes who want to write but don't even read. Girls that wanna be famous but never audition for anything at all.
Nathan Rogers
>Not OP and I can't speak for his friends videos, but it annoys me when I see people do a shit job of pursuing their own dreams.
Shit or not doesn't matter. What matters is that dude is walking the walk and actually taking action. People will talk all that shit about how bad you are until you make it and then people start kissing your ass.
Gabriel Gonzalez
at this stage every single new streamer has to resort to getting viewers from outside of twitch, even if you play a game with very few streamers odds are there won't be many viewers and the few viewers there will be watching that game because a specific streamer is playing it
Nolan White
>Co-worker has fun in his personal life
Stay mad and autismal. btw he's getting paid to take care of you, that doesn't make him your co-worker
Robert Turner
this right here is what keeps me from even trying I remember thinking I'd get 3 or 4 viewers average for my first stream, then I tried scrolling all the way down the Twitch browse channels page.. That's some wild stuff to think people will stream for days without a single viewer, what drives them to put themselves through that humiliation? Delusions that they'll become the next Ninja if they just keep at it?
Jack Anderson
if you are a youtube refugee you basically get to skip the initial hard part.
other than that, you network like a motherfucker and have a popular streamer feed you like a sugar daddy,
Jacob Perez
Riding other people's coattails seems to be the way up if you aren't already well known for some other reason. I watch a guy who currently gets about 100 viewers average on his streams. He was at 30 a few months ago and had been languishing there for ages. He got his initial seed from being well known in the community of another streamer. I reckon he's going to get quite popular in time since he's skilled, funny and positive
Sebastian Powell
I make youtube videos, but I never commentate them. It's mostly for archival purposes.
Exactly but I think leeching off popular streamers is also damn near impossible since they get tons of people begging for collabs/hosts/etc for money I remember one guy gave sodapoppin $500 just to play a match of dead by daylight with him, that's how desperate people are
Andrew Rodriguez
Moonmoon is one of the most successful streamers on twitch and he got there by doing what you describe. It's not enough to get exposure though. You need to have a reason for people to stick around. Being funny, charismatic and skilled is the ingredient that most people who get that exposure still lack
Jacob Carter
if moonmoon wasnt streaming he'd have a career in radio i think. he was just made to do it.
Owen Green
he started back in 2016 though and it was a lot easier to make it back then
Nolan Morris
op you dumby no one rewatches twitch replays and the original live viewers aren't counted i multi stream and my latest had 1,000+ views on youtube youtube.com/watch?v=c1JP7s5_hmQ and like 2 on twitch
I think it's more the fact OW was a huge release and everyone was looking for someone to watch. So just wait for the next OW tier release and get in early, good luck with that.
Jace Sullivan
Gotta start somewhere. Stop bringing people down and being a jaded cunt.
Michael Thompson
>a webcam that lets me see your face I fucking hate this trend. When I look for a review or a let's play of a game to get the gist before buying it, I always click off the ones that consonantly have their face showing, staring directly into the camera. If I'm desperate, I move a piece of paper or something over them so I can see the video without having to look at them. The fuck is everyone obsessed with showing their face to people who don't want to see it anyway.
Liam Baker
If you have no views then you have no clue if what you're doing is good or bad because no one is watching it to form an opinion. If you don't do a video card and good title you'll be washed away among the many.
Jacob Miller
yeah that usually works too as long as you can find a way to stand out among the normalfag crowd that rushes in like what happened with apex
Chase Reed
Most normal humans with normal brain function like to see the faces of other humans
Nolan Collins
Holy cringe batman...
Jaxson Davis
>friend asks me to subscribe to his youtube channel >he still hasn't uploaded any videos ebin
Josiah Davis
The viewers ask for that. One time I did a stream for some people and ran a poll to see if they wanted cam or no cam and they all voted for cam.
Elijah Martinez
>The fuck is everyone obsessed with showing their face to people who don't want to see it anyway.
You gain an emotional connection when you see someones expression and reaction
Jason Hall
So people who make endless videos like this for years despite having almost no views or subscribers are mentally ill right, like they actually suffer from some sort of mental impairment. How do they justify their actions in their minds?
John Ross
A friend of mine really wanted to have a go at making money off twitch a while back, so a few other friends and I would support him by watching his streams so his viewership would be at the bare minimum required to be partnered or whatever they call it when you can start making money from it. It worked and he was super jazzed when he reached that goal, but he quit cold turkey not long after.
Better that it ended that way, he wasn't going to get very far if I'm being honest. He streamed the console version of pubg, played with some guy who had a screaming kid in the background, didn't really have anything interesting or funny to say, etc.
Lincoln Garcia
Lol no, it’s not.
John Morgan
think of it like any job
if you just "work hard" and never change or try you're probably not gonna get anywhere
>want to get into youtube/twitch (maybe not streaming right now, but stuff like reviews, let's plays and whatever) >mostly play niche JRPGs and other similarly unpopular stuff >not really into shilling the channel everywhere and dislike the "content creator" community in general What do?
Adrian Thomas
>tfw have 50k subs and 4.5mil views on YouTube >tell absolutely no one at work cos I don't want anyone to realise I'm committing tax evasion on all my YouTube earnings >people always ask me what I do in my free time or what are my plans for the weekend and I never have an answer to give cos I can't tell them the truth Kinda lonely really.
Gabriel Russell

Jackson Richardson

Isaac Ortiz
do it and get 5 views a video
Jack Scott
It also can serve as a form of cloud storage, maybe? I wouldn't be able to tell.
Dominic Kelly
More likely it means you paid nothing to advertise them, do no networking, and have a bad thumbnail. But really its just the first two. YouTube isnt a place where you just upload and people find you anymore, all algorithms and search parameters direct you to the most popular content by default.
Nathan Jackson
You missed the boat on most of the single player stuff I promise you, but classic multiplayer compilations could probably ride the nostalgia boner to moderate success.
Nathaniel Lewis
I have a bad problem with not finishing games so even if I only have 1-2 viewers on strram and maybe 10 yt views per vid it makes me determined to see it through.
Lucas Smith
It helps to play games that people can play and interact with you in. I dont have a big community, but whenever I stream minecraft or 7 days to die, I always have a little crew that comes to play and watch. I also do fortnite, but das forbodden in these parts.
Nathan Martinez
Ever consider you arent the target audience of a streamer?
Charles Long
If you arent at least on Twitter interacting with people who also make the same shit, it will never succeed.
Dominic Rodriguez
Or maybe they just, here it comes, ENJOY doing it even if they don't monetize from it? GASP, unbelievable!
Logan Kelly
watching competitive players with peak performance =/= watching casual variety streamer getting shit on levels that you could've done better yourself
>veronicaposter don't pretend you're any less degenerate

watching casual players get shit on is fucking funny I watched xqc get farmed by abyss watchers for hours and his chat flamed the everloving fuck out of him for being so bad

Juan Edwards
>watching other men with peak performance railing your wife/gf like you wish you could >watching competitive players with peak performance playing the game like you wish you could
Sounds pretty much like cuckoldry
Thomas Nguyen
Can't you just make that your full time job then?
Christian Martinez
I feel like that user struck a nerve with that post
Okay so I'm one of those people that many of you are complaining about. I've been making videos since early 2011 and in the last 9 years I've uploaded over 1200 videos across 2 channels. As of currently I'm one of those 'doesn't have many subs or get many views but uploads anyway' people. What many tend to forget outside of the many drastic changes to YouTubes algorithm over the years is just what it takes to maneuver around it and stay relevant. Up until 2014 I was monetized and earning $300 to $350 a month, but at the cost of getting all those views from following trends and playing what was currently relevant rather than what I really wanted to play, because that was what was required at that point to get the views. You have absolutely no idea how much it kills your motivation to have to constantly follow trends to stay relevant enough to keep gaining subs and views. I eventually just stopped, deleted my old channel and created a new one which I have been uploading too since. It's un-monetized and gets far less traffic than the previous ever did, but I don't need YouTube for a job, so all my videos are just for fun.
Not sure why any of this matters to you so much anyway. You want videos without commentary? They do exist. There's also plenty of channels out there among the trash that I'm sure you all watch or that you'll eventually find and love. You guys really do complain about the most trivial things sometimes, it must be a slow week for you.
And before you ask... No, I'm not dumb enough to give you a link to my channel.
Easton Flores
you've picked my interest
Lucas Ward
Moonmoon never leeched. A_Seagull liked him in a random OW match and friended him. That's how it started

>tfw this is basically me I don’t know man I just like making videos. I used to spend a lot of time watching them and it would be my dream to make it big off them myself. I know I got negative charm but I’m hoping that if I keep making videos I’ll work on it.
>co-worker mentions being a streamer and a counter strike knife gambler There's really nothing else to this story, I just said neat and went back to working.
Adam Price
any time a coworker talks about video games or the internet or anything related to video games and the internet, I pretend to not know what it is, and ask them about it. Then when they start trying to describe reddit or anime or the concept of watching someone play a video game on the internet, they start to feel awkward, and find an excuse to leave.
yea I got no friends and I'm alone and long to connect to other human beings but it's safer this way.
Joseph Garcia
it's not necessarily a mental illness, but there are elements of depression and giving up and shit. more like it becomes routine and a comfort thing.
i used to kind of look down on it and laugh but think about it this way. what's the difference between loner making videos for basically himself, and a cashier at a grocery store that started when they were 20 and still doing the job at 60...to me that feels like wasted potential, you spent your life being a slave, just in a different way. but they keep doing it because it becomes routine.
Hunter Perez

you, i know one who post his videos all day to us and the only 1 view he gets is if i decide to open one of them. he also tried to run a gaming youtube channel and that failed.
then again this is the same guy who always tries to tell me that the mobile market is the future of gaming and i should spend my time programming mobile games.
Ethan Moore
link his channel, i like to watch people with no viewers

Is it really so bad to try? They are trying to pursue their dream and don't give up despite mediocrity. I wish I had a spirit like that. When I realized I was mediocre I just gave up and started huffing spray paint and air horns every day. I have no soul now and I Wish I just kept trying.
Anthony Hill
>tfw I'm guilty of this but it's fun to stream even when only ten people are watching >editing videos is somewhat relaxing and I'm genuinely proud to see my improvement with each one I make >Even have been getting noticed a little bit more lately
And it's all something I do maybe once or twice a week. The important thing is to be a jack of all trades and adapt. I've even gotten some kudos for recording games nobody has played.
Blake Thomas
Incidentally, I love watching Blender Guru but what the fuck is up with using a camera for tutorials?

>made a yt channel bout two years ago for videogames >2nd video ever got 10,000 views >bunch of feedback and comments >expected absolutely nothing so just kinda in shock people liked it at all >make maybe 10 videos after that >they get maybe 100 views >think whatever, just keep doin what I do because some people seem to like some particular thing that I do >just dont know what it is >onw of those less viewes videos was a random showcasing of the craziness of some indie game I beat that was kinda lewd >It has maybe 100 views the first month >notice the next month it grew to 1 views randomly cause it shows as my 2nd most popular videos >weird but OK >views kept growing over about 5 months >ends up having 20,000 views, double the views of my previously most popular video
Can't say I understand what works and what doesn't as I havent made anything in a couple years now. But one rule I did follow is try to make something useful/or entertaining for people that even you would watch(which is hard).
And be cynical of yourself too because if theirs tons of people with the same content as you, why would they watch you in particular vs the more popular guy?
I still have some Melee matches I uploaded with my friends and a cringey podcast I made with my brother with E3 speculations. Its awful, but one has to realize you don't have talent for those things one way or another.
Its the equivalent of the boomer days of "make a band with your friends and make it big".

yeah this goes without saying shortyguy has been leeching off lirik for years and he can barely pull more than 1k viewers even though lirik gets like 15k-30k viewers

Voyeurism. Its why I streamed for a while. It was pretty fun even if only one or two people were watching at the time. Wouldn't do it now. Too much real life shit going on the mic would probably pick up and too many things pulling me away from the game. Plus I make mistakes like crazy setting the stream up. I think if I stream now, it will be for a purpose. Like making something in Dreams or in Game Maker.

sure, they hypothetically could. they don't, though. they always want to be famous and make money. >in-video reminders to subscribe, ring notification bell, like or dislike >'x subscribers special' for small numbers like 30, 50, 100 >avoids topics, words, symbols that get demonetized, speaks in absolutes as if youtube actually prevents them from discussing it and doesn't just stop paying them >patreon, ko-fi, paypal donation links >subscribe to join the [channel name]ers
