I hope the user who was having trouble with the train stage doesn't give up. once you get the hang of how those wheel fucks appear you'll notice its one of the shorter stages

Attached: edge.png (2559x1437, 744K)

I always farmed in Harpuia's stage in the caves. Don't know why you need to farm though.

more art like this OP?

Maybe OP's gunning for the Ultimate Form, though if they are they should know that you can miss some Elves in the resistance base

Is it more or less depressing knowing that it all happened because of a college rivalry?

>Kill 74 enemies on the train level in MMZ2
>0ps for the score on that section
why the fuck is this game like this

Nevered bothered farming in 3, game's too easy even without elves, but I do know that the Pegasus' stage in 4 is good for farming them, hope it'll be useful when you get to that game

Attached: 1583101145897.jpg (4096x2595, 500K)

You just need to collect the Data Disks, I don't think you need to level up the elves you find in them.

are you sure it was the enemy score you had zero on? I killed 64 and had max points from kills on my post above.

on a side note FFFFUCK PHOENIX MAGNION

I mean, real life wars were started over dumber shit, but this really doesn't help.

How come I can beat zero 2s final boss in one go, but this mess of a design is filtering me
He doesn't leave himself open
How do you dodge the 500 things he fires at you
How do you fix zero 4 as a whole

go to the end of this video youtube.com/watch?v=oGEaY1CMPEY
there's a solution to literally everything he throws at you just like everything else in zero 4. I don't expect you to play as well as sliider did but come on user.

Everything from Zero 2 and onwards felt relatively "easy", but this son of a bitch really fucked me up.

I really liked his fight after you got the hang of dodging his laser, tho.

>2nd encounter
God I wish I was that far.
He's filtering me at the first camp encounter.

Attached: 1561055185499.jpg (500x478, 78K)

The real annoying part of that stage is the boss. I never figured out how to fight him properly even after refighting him in the boss rush

does the new collection have Easy Scenario or is that a DS exclusive?

Elpizo is probably the easiest final boss in the entire mega man series, now the trick with Craft is shooting him with charged buster shots while destroying his projectiles with the saber, always staying away from him to avoid the knife, kinda like this, tho this guy uses more advanced techniques

Attached: 1582213364338.jpg (400x400, 30K)

I honest to god think that Craft would hand Real X his ass before he was even able to know what happened.

Yes it has bitch mode

I'm sorry user, but then I suppose
should still apply. remember you can slash the rockets and while he's getting back into gear that gives you time for a free hit.

That kind of helps, but I can't dodge the giant laser part.
Do I jump over it? Get close and out of its range?

Am I going fucking crazy or are Zero's attacks slower in 2 than they were in 1? Not to mention lacking moves.

the one that targets you with a red laser before firing? Dash right before it fires and you go under it.

dash under it, if you can craft the chip that gives you a longer dash you should get it, helps a lot with that attack
Imo Craft is the second hardest boss in the game, so if you can get over him the rest of the game won't give you any problem at least until the final level

Attached: 1581476001724.jpg (118x309, 15K)

Beat it finally.
I barely won, but I'll admit once you slash the shots away that's actually a really fun fight.
Shame he dies in the end. I could see them making Craft a really good rival for Zero.

Attached: 1579917499673.png (572x535, 169K)

>spoiler
But user, that won't be possible because Zero dies

Attached: 1581617659176.jpg (960x699, 85K)

Oh right that happens too

yeah its a really intense fight but it feels overwhelming at first. Also there's a fair amount of people that bitch about zero 4 but it does a lot for itself by actually ending if that makes sense.

>Lightning Edgeboy

It's fine, he could be hiding himself while he repairs himself after all, you can never keep that guy down

Attached: 1581366554833.jpg (630x610, 103K)

>The cutscene right after craft
Man it's been awhile since I played the zero games but I forgot just how cool zero-series zero was.
"Look at you all cowering in fear. You're no different than the humans in Neo Arcadia"
For once I'm actually invested in a mm story

Attached: 1566829679784.png (546x458, 271K)

the little bits of dialogue we get out of zero are amazing. The intro to Heat Genblems stage has always stuck in my mind

You better enjoy it then, because that's the last time it'll happen. Glad to know you're enjoying the game btw, lots of people shit on it a lot, but to me it's like an 8 at worst

It definitely has some parts I don't like (mainly level design, and one of the minibosses) but that's probably because this is the first time I'm really "playing" zero. The story so far is really good though, and I feel like his triple slash is faster but maybe that's just me.
I played Zero 1-4 on the ds collection using easy scenario mode, so this collection is my first time doing them somewhat legitly (using save assist, which I plan to ditch when I finish the platinum)

Attached: 1581190064394.jpg (550x598, 236K)

Someone explained before that Craft has very unintuitive movements for the Zero series.

>easy scenario
>save assist

I finally wound up getting it, got an A rank too
The boss wound up being worse than the wheels once I got their general pattern down.

>the ZX collection shot up to #11 on the Nintendo E-shop
well, that's good

That’s post x4 Zero he talks little but says so much. Also he being able to call the humans on their bullshit was one of the reason why he was seen as an equal by them. Something X never managed to do.

have you fought phoenix magnion yet? him and the twin beetles later in zero 2 are the ones that gave me the most hell in hard mode but phoenix is destroying me now in normal.

But how does that stack up to the other collections?

Its probably because they didn't ship shit for physical copies so people are resorting to digital

The best one so far.
>Bonuses out the wazoo (wazzoo?)
>Zchaser is the perfect extra gamemode
>Not emulation. This collection is running off the source code for each game directly.
>600+ pieces of artwork the box says
>Games use the improved DS music
>Can switch to japanese, if having bleeding igloos means that much to you
The only thing it's missing is the mythos music

Read your comment wrong. Shit
As far as the other collections in terms of sales, we have no idea. No numbers are released yet, but considering anons are having a really hard time finding the physicals (and amazon sold out before they were released) its safe to assume it's selling way more than capcom expected it to.

Physical copies being sparse might be because of coronavirus fucking up manufacturing in China, not so much that they intentionally didn't print many or did but sold out.

go FUCK yourself phoenix god damn.

I accidentally tripped into him right at the end when I thought I was going to get a perfect clear.

Attached: f.png (2557x1435, 743K)

11 was the 6th most downloaded game on the American eShop the month it came out, I haven't been able to find anything on the other games.

It was intentional, Capcom produced too much of the X collection so they cut their disc numbers down for Z. Coronavirus had nothing to do with it as some MM insiders like protodude say

Shut up, sluts.

Don't do easy scenario. Its overkill. It strips every form of damage you can ever take.

Checkpoints are honestly enough as a middleground for Zero 1.
Zero 2 and on deserve a fair play through

Attached: 1575902947364.png (477x359, 250K)

Sadly I must inform you that. You haven’t played the Zero series yet.

Maybe next round then.

Don't listen to people saying you shouldn't use save assist.

Using save assist is good.

Just ditch the training wheels. And let your skill guide you. However you already spoiled some of the best parts due to that. Being completely destroyed by Craft without even knowing what happened it’s a magical experience.

how longer after mmZ does ZX take place?

every time you die the required number of kills goes up, I think by whatever the original requirement is. So basically just don't die

So, anons, how do you guys think of the weird pixel smoothing filter? I can't help but actually like using it, especially when I maximize the screen. How do you guys have your visuals set up?

zero never died from the ragnarok crash

he survived and tossed away his helmet to start a new life

Zero is Giro

He jobs hard enough that I believe this.

You realize that makes the latter's death even more pitiable, right?

This user's post begs me to ask the question:
What would Zero's cyber elf look like?

It has bitch mode and a portable bitch mode.

>Implying Allouette wouldn't skewer Aile for getting Zero of all people killed
>Implying the plot of ZX would happen at all
>Implying Zero would ever leave Ciel's side
>Im-fucking-plying Zero wouldn't be leading the Guardians
>Insinuating that Zero wouldn't already have merged with Biometal X
Reminder that Giro is meant to resemble Zero for the sole purpose of allusions to MMX.

No the save states are scrub mode

I wouldn't say "unintuitive" so much as he's pretty much the only boss made to play against Zero's combat abilities rather than just his platforming abilities.

Attached: 25084899_p0.jpg (680x735, 359K)

G-gee Zero, how c-come your c-collection gets t-two bitch m-modes?-?

Anyone else wish the Archie Comics finished their runtime but never went to the Worlds Unite arc? That was retarded.

You come off as the type to hand coke to a very slowly recovering addict.

Its a really cool feeling having new people in these threads trying the zero games. I hope you enjoy them as much as I still do to this day.

>save assist is cocaine
What the fuck, man?

>Coronavirus had nothing to do with it as some MM insiders like protodude say
>source: dude trust me
ok i believe you

Isn't it 200? Not an expert but I thought it went MM classic > 100 years > MMX > 100 years > elf war > 100 years > MMZ > 200 or so years > ZX > 1000 or 2000 years or so > Legends.

>03
I am user, these are the first Megaman games I've actually played properly. I remember I tried Zero 1 many moons ago but yesterday I gave the first three levels a shot, spent like 50 minutes and then went back and grinded them to get A ranks. It filtered me hard at first but I got there, I'm gonna beat this game now. Music is bitching too.

Standard size to fit the top edges of the screen without stretching it horizontally and the first filter option. I love the games' original look but on the larger screen the filter just makes it look so much better, I'm glad they put it in and don't understand the hate it gets here unless hating it is a meme or it's a dedicated shitposter or something.

Elaborate. I get the feeling, but I don't know how to describe it explicitly.

What's the point of proto form when power form exists?

harder mode

Who thought putting an escourt mission in a megaman game was a good idea

You're forced to use Proto Form is used in Hard Mode

1. Hard mode is basically just being forced to use Proto Mode, so you can think of it as backporting hard mode to regular
2. There actually are differences in their damage values (proto is a little stronger with other weapons)

rockmanpm.com/?p=zero/rockmanzero2/forms

we already know him he went bananas

Attached: artworks-000034608118-t9x3uh-t500x500.jpg (500x500, 57K)

legit should have made him canon so he could show up in 6

Like the way he moves and attacks takes into account how Zero does so his moveset is just anti-Zero whereas other bosses basically just throw out attacks and their moves all only really take Zero's jump/dash heights and such into account and not stuff like how specifically he might move during battle (like how Kraft's grenades will catch you midair as you're dodging another attack or how he'll pull the bayonet out at a time when it seems you'll get in close) or attack as they leave themselves wide open.

Who thought putting THREE escort missions in MegaMan was a good idea

Thanks. I can't wait to fight him with save assist. He was so hard to practice again without reloading a bunch.

>Ciel
>Desert
>?

He is canon, in NT.

Attached: 1314172300196231.png (480x640, 164K)

I count the bomb defusion in 2, it's like a stationary version of the desert one.

That's a protect mission, not an escort mission though. Escort typically implies travel

Imagine wanting to actually fuck a reploid haha how weird would that be haha just for laughs haha

Attached: 64811477_p0.png (1000x1414, 2.22M)

don't they imply that by the time of ZX humans and reploids where practically indistinguishable from each other?

so, little tile cyber-elves are temporary/one-time use, but medium and large tile cyber-elves bestow permanent effects?

Yes, except for the medium-sized hacker elves

>actually using cyber elves

Attached: ca3.png (505x426, 236K)

Yep, which means anything before then is unfuckable, including Leviathan.

>what is upgrading my rig?

Ciels a genius I'm sure she can understand my request. Hell, she probably designed reploid genitals.

Got tired of seeing "ZOMG the Z2 intro is soooo le kino!" every thread but now that I've refinished Z1 and can move on yeah, it really is great. Not that Z1's isn't also great, but Z3's is pretty fun but has more of a tone of malevolent intrigue and Z4 wanted to start out like an action movie, plus all the character interactions after he gets dropped off at new resistance hq (hilarious considering Harp could've just obliterated them then and there) were nice and direct. Out of all of them, Z2 is probably the gme that keeps things the tightest and to the point with no wasted movements in gameplay and story presentation besides weapon leveling (which I hate less the better I get at the games). That said, Z1 and Z3 are probably still my favorite intros since the first has the return of Zero and Z3 started right out with all the strongest characters getting shown up plus all the mysterious implications surrounding the ship at the start.

>1000 or 2000 years or so
It's over 3000 years. Possibly, quite a bit over.

Time attacks are fine and all but I wish they hadn't dropped the Challenge idea. Imagine the Zero/ZX bosses fighting you 2-on-1 with the endboss being either something like Seraph X and Omega or the 2 purple cats plus the beetle bros.

They probably didn't add that because even two bosses sharing basic movesets and the same weaknesses is still considered an ass-kicker in MMZ

Maybe, but they could always pair different-elemented bosses together after the first or first few pairs. They probably just didn't do it just to not copy XLC.

How the hell do I know if I actually activated hard mode in zero 1? Read somewhere that hard mode disables cyber elves but I can just use them anyways, and the damage seems the same as normal mode from just playing the first level.

It has a red H in your save file.

It would have been more fun than in XLC, my point is, it would be absolutely ball bustingly difficult even for the veterans of the series. If you think I'd fight Phoenix with fucking anyone by his side, you are absolutely nuts.

It'll make the "Elf collected" sound when you start the game

>Phoenix + Hidden Phantom

I feel like it might be somwhat easier, I always had a harder time with X bosses than Zero bosses since movement is smoother as Zero and bosses seem to have attacks that make more "sense" to their design where X bosses are more like a gauntlet of attacks themed to the character. It's sorta hard to describe, but X has always been harder for me than Zero. Even the X4 bosses kicked my ass for the longest time well after I'd beaten Zs 1 through 4.

>Phoenix + the frog

Can someone explain what the hell is going on with the Level 3 victories in ZX? At some point their health bar starts flashing and I have no idea what's causing it but It saw something in one of these threads about weak spots or some shit

The weak point is where the biometal is located on them, it deals more damage hitting there but you'll get less energy out of the biometal upon recieving it if you hit it and will either have to repair it with Fleuve which costs ecrystals or refight the pseudoroid and try for a higher level victory, 4 being the highest.

The Pseudoroids have weakspots, if you hit the you get lower level victories is your biometals will start out with less weapom energy. If you get a Level 4 victory, the biometal won't be damaged and you get a plushie of the boss in Prairie's room.

Basically where their "head" is? Because I didn't really see a Biometal on them.

If you use Model HX, you can see where their weakspot is on the lower screen,

Wait, so pantheons are actually human looking reploids and the monoeye is some sort of brainwashing helmet?

Old concept, the Pantheons you fight in the game aren't like that.

Avoiding it seems like the biggest hassle in the world.

Oh it is. Especially for the Model F pseudoroids

>something in ZX is inconvenient
Par for the course.

I finally beat Zero1. I had trouble finishing it out. My general understanding of Final form X is to just keep moving from the left side to the right and you should be able to dodge everything. I just kept hitting him with fully-charged saber hits, but I didn't "no damage" beat him by any means. Sometimes one of the side walls will be too high when he does the fire carpet. One life I tried wall-kicking on the side of the arena to avoid the fire, but I died because you lose control really quickly once Zero's body is partially off screen. I had doubled vitality

My review is that the levels, themselves, are pretty mediocre and lots of enemies and locations are recycled. I like the quantity and quality of the bosses, but I feel like half of them put you in "undodgeable" situations where you're forced to take a hit and that always irritates me. I'm curious if anybody has ever managed a "No Element / No damage-taken" playthrough before, because I think that would be quite a feat.. if it's even possible.

There was a guy who beat it in under an hour and did these crazy moves including moving back and forth as the saber slash animation was still playing out so it would count as multiple hits.

>Sometimes one of the side walls will be too high when he does the fire carpet.
The beam always points to the platform you should get on.
>I'm curious if anybody has ever managed a "No Element / No damage-taken" playthrough before, because I think that would be quite a feat.. if it's even possible.
There's a 100 points Hard Mode run but I think he still uses the Shield Boomerang for elemental damage.

Boomerang shitters are the worst. If you're not playing hard mode buster only without taking damage and without saving in under an hour then you aren't playing the game right.

There's nothing that's undogdable, but you certainly need to plan ahead for some things.
>Sometimes one of the side walls will be too high when he does the fire carpet
The walls are synchronized so that when one is low the other is high, so you just need to pay attention to where you're standing. Generally you want to already be on the walls anyways unless he's doing one of his other attacks.

>Zero art is X style but worse

Do you think Inti just said "fuck you" to Capcom when they came to them for ZX concept art and gave them Rospark pages as a joke?

>1. Hard mode is basically just being forced to use Proto Mode
And your weapon level stays 1 for the entire game.

>Damage: 7
lmao

That's part of Proto Mode

does the new collection have widescreen hacks of any kind? you get punished in the GBA games for going fast because you can't see shit coming.

>does the new collection have effort?
Hahaha

Guys, the Zero games might actually be my favorite subseries.
Even with their flaws, they perfected the movement and combat formula

The level design is still shit.

Level design in 1 is servicable, in 2&3 it's actually pretty good. 4 is Garbo tho

Bait him with lemons then use a charged thunder slash when he counter attacks

Why these collections got a better soundtrack than Mega Man 11?

I did it boys!

Gotta say getting all EX Skills was pretty stressful, but totally manageable once you have Defense form

Attached: FF3423EC-35E5-43C9-B9EB-48475DA94E55.jpg (4032x3024, 3.38M)

Because the same composer that did Starforce 2's music, some of the worst in the franchise, also did 11's music.

you did do it without save assist, right?

yup, I don’t use that thing

then good job!

Attached: 1553447952248.png (623x1100, 1018K)

Megaman 11's big problem isn't the compositions, it's the awful choice of using mediocre synths for the entire game. It's why the instrumentals are usually much better than the default versions. They're still on the weaker side for classic Megaman but they're not outright terrible when arranged properly.

I 100%ed all the games in easy scenario with save assist and nobody told me I did good.

Thanks!

Do A-S ranks reward you with anything in Zero 1?

Even the arrangements aren't that good and some like Acid Man even sound better with techno. It's just a very weak sound track in every way compared to the rest of them.

No, but bosses do have EX skill attacks they only use if you have an A or S. Also there is an achievement in the collection for breaking Leviathan's ice dragon EX skill.

Oh, that’s how you get Leviathan achievement. Damn.

Before Zero era human/reploid marriage was a thing already and Craft was fucking the ginger during Zero era

Just dash and shoot a charge shot with model ZX when he's standing still and not doing anything. There are other opportunities too, but that's the easiest time to get some damage in.

Who would win in a fight between Elpizo and the LifeVirus?

You have a top 10 ranking in some Z-chaser stage, right?

I haven't played it very much yet, just enough to get a WR when there was only one other score on the board. I've been focusing on 100 point runs, currently at NA core in Z1 (which I've cleared with a 99) and temple of fire in Z2.
